We moved into our home built by Texas Building Center October 1,2022, by December 23,2022 we were already having major issues with EVERY single window in our house. Several inch thick solid ice around the trim of every single window in our house. We reached out to them immediately because we were still under warranty. It took them until the end of May to even come and look at it, keep in mind the GC lives one street over, absolutely no excuse. First the owner told us "he's never seen this issue in any house he's ever built" then he said in an email "That's why you don't put aluminum windows in a barndominium". Why is this their standard window you put in your houses then? I wouldn't even put these crappy windows in a barn, we also would've spent more money on better windows had they told us we can never redo windows in a barndominium! We have reached out MANY times only to be ignored and ghosted by the builders. They were trying to avoid us as much as possible until our warranty was out so they didn't have to fix their mistake. After the May visit to our house they wanted us to purchase a $3,000 dehumidifier to prevent the windows from doing this. Prior to the $3,000 dehumidifier we were told after arguing with them about why should we have to pay for their wrong doing they did agree they would cover this for us. Also the Wayne's air owner called me telling me that they didn't even believe the AC was the problem, at that they agreed it was a window installation issue. Then Mike the owner told me "they never said that" yes they did! The problem has not helped AT ALL. Also when he FINALLY came to look at our windows and AC in May he said we just need to keep our AC at 60 degrees to avoid higher humidity, really? Are you going to pay for my AC bill every month? Last week the first day of the temperatures dropping we are left with solid ice once again around every window of our house. We have reached out to builder yet again, he responds once or twice to make you think you are going to get help then ghosts you. These windows are a piece of crap and not worth the money we spent building this house. This was supposed to be our forever home and this is a continuing issue, not to mention the amount of mold we have around every single window and has ruined our dry wall. We would not recommend this builder to anyone and we will be taking legal action. read more

In the market to build a barndo on some land out in the Hill Country. I did the typical google search for "best barndo builders in Texas" and Texas Building Center was on the list. Hubby called and we drove straight there. Greeted by Matthew & Katy and let me just say, we were blown away by all the information we received in the hour we were there. They showed us around and answered all of our questions, and we had a ton! We learned so much and feel very comfortable about moving forward with the building process. They have a plans guy they work with and also a local banker that specializes in barndo loans... it's almost a one stop shop in this little community. Matthew is super knowledgeable about EVERYTHING! Very authentic and not pushy. My husband and I both automatically had a great feeling about them. These days you can hardly get a call back or friendly service anywhere. This company has it all. We will definitely be back and would recommend them to anyone. So many options for building and they do it all from land clearing, driveways... Great business all around! Our experience with Texas Building Center has been a 3 year EXCELLENT relationship. Before I begin with how helpful they have been, let me say that 9/10ths of our work has been over phone, email, fax, text from Fort Worth to Kingsland, for a building in Llano County. If there was a question, on either side, it was asked and answered in no time. In May 2015, knowing nothing about construction, I went into their showroom with only a small vision of something to build that we would use as a ranch house/deer cabin use. The only requirement I really had was for it to be 1500 sq ft and to be finished and ready to live in by mid-November. If you don't want to read more, know this: They held to their word.. it was complete by the end of October, with everything I had asked for - at this time. Because over the next 6-9 months, I asked for more things to be added... (finishing a mud room to be built in, adding insulation and drywall, etc.) and it was accomplished just as requested. We started with the frame and no interior walls finished, no kitchen cabinets added, because stupidly, we thought we would do that ourselves. WRONG! We couldn't! A few calls, a couple of emails and all the extras were added as I needed. Remember - this was all done 250 miles away, sight unseen. The barndominium had architectural plans, electrical plans and complete elevation plans that were carried out perfectly. We worked through a local building company for fixtures, sinks, tub, etc. I found the items in Ft Worth, and called Marble Falls. Texas Building Center made arrangements with the company to deliver the items for them to install. All sight unseen. When I left out something, L.E. or George would call to verify. They added the missing pieces (remember, I know nothing about construction) and treated me with respect. The few things that needed addressing (as if it was a punch list) were taken care of immediately. Even with a request that they had never had been asked - they made a new way to complete the task. They helped in ways even I wasn't sure what I was asking for. It was a terrifying way to have a ranch house built, not knowing the company, not knowing what I could do from so far away. If I had to do it all again, I would call this company in an instant. Even 3 years later, I have called L.E. for a question to replace something that WE broke. He said he could do it, but was open and honest about the time frame it may take, because of his other commitments. I appreciate that openness. He didn't agree to replace something immediately, because he knew his crew was working long hours to complete other obligations. L.E. and Texas Building Center will still be my first call should I need anything with this house. They have been as helpful as family. read more

Do yourself a favor, unless you enjoy being lied to, look elsewhere. They will say anything to get your down payment. Then if you find out your building can't be built for some reason, even a reason they should have known, forget about your deposit. I took then to small claims. They even changed the number they claimed they had spent on my project between the time they answered the suit to the day of court. Obviously a lie. Court was in their county and not mine so I was awarded only $621 instead of the $5000 I should have been awarded. Good 'ole L. E. Fite had a lawyer send me a threatening letter and a demand to sign a non-disclosure preventing me from writing any bad reviews as a condition of him sending me the $621. Sorry LE. It doesn't work like that. Don't do crooked stuff and you won't have to worry about your reviews. If you can't find anyone else to do your metal building, save yourself the trouble and just go without. read more

Texas Building Center have been great to work with! They built a 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath house for us that we love! They did a great job and were available every time we called willing to make happen anything we needed. We went back to them to put in a shop and carport combo that completes are home!
