Tomorrow morning is my 2 week follow up after my surgery with Dr Arakal
    Matthew W.

I was seen my Dr Arakal about a possible cervical disc replacement surgery. From the consultation, to the pre op, to the surgery, to the post op care, to going home the next day. I was very pleased with the level of care and respect you get as soon as you walk into those doors, till when you go home. I would most definitely recommend Dr Arakal and his team at Texas Back Institute

The majority of their forms were unreadable. I completed what I could.

SEVEN YEARS LATER! I never once got a bill from them since I started or ended therapy, and now years and years later, they decide my insurance didn't cover anything (which is completely crazy considering my insurance covers everything I've ever needed, including physical therapy, and also considering that they're more than happy to cover physical therapy to keep me from being billed enormous surgery costs)? On top of that, they want to charge me late fees for non payment when I never once saw a bill to begin with! ! I have never in my life seen this happen. They either lied about my insurance coverage (which again, is not possible) they completely screwed up their billing and accounting, or they're just plain thieves. I'm so baffled I don't even know who to talk to - my insurance or their office, and you can be dang sure they'd not answer the phone because they NEVER answer the phone, or NEVER call me back after leaving a voicemail. These people are insane. You absolutely should not give them your business and run far and fast in the other direction!

I was armed with not one, but two MRIs from other doctors, ready to hear the dreaded "Let's schedule surgery" speech. Instead, I met with a genuine, down to earth, personable doctor that actually listened to all my complaints and I mean all of them lol. Not just "my back hurts," but also my entire medical history. Dr. Desaloms already has my MRIs up on a giant screen ready to review my issues. This office clearly invests in top-notch technology, and it shows. Love his PA Stephanie (extra bonus points for having her in his back pocket!). He's not the kind of neurosurgeon who pushes surgery just because he can. I may need it someday, but right now he's focused on what's best for me. That kind of organic, patient-first approach is rare. The entire staff at Dallas Neurosurgical and Spine, from the front desk, tech, PA to billing -- were exceptional people who obviously enjoy (and love) their jobs!
