I went to Texas Appliance to looking for a selection of appliances. I was greeted by a helpful sales associate who showed me around and answered all my questions. The next day, I followed up about an oven and was assured it was in stock. After a few emails, we finalized the details, and I waited for an updated invoice by email. Then, communication completely stalled. After a couple of days without a response, I reached out to the store and discovered that my sales agent was no longer with the company. To make matters worse, I learned several crucial details had been overlooked, including the need for an in-home measurement and additional installation fees. On April 25th, I paid for both the oven and the measurement fee. After the measurements were completed, I contacted the store again, only to find out that my new sales agent was on leave. The store manager stepped in, and I had to bring him up to speed on my order. He then informed me there were issues with LG warehouse, and that everything had to come from California--meaning there was no definite timeline for when my oven would arrive. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since my original salesperson had assured me that I would have it within 10-15 days. Over the next several weeks I heard nothing from the store. I called asking for updates and continue to get the same message, we do not know when it will be in. Fast-forward 30 days from my first visit--I finally received a call letting me know the oven had arrived. However, before installation could proceed, I was informed that I had to pay the $540 installation fee upfront. I asked if I could pay on the day of installation. I had already paid $3000 for the oven and I would really like to wait and see it before I paid any more money. They refused, citing store policy. The store manager even called me saying there was no way they could do it to where I paid for the installation on the same day. At that point, I had lost all confidence in the process and requested a refund. If they are willing to loose my business over a "store policy" and $540, then I will go some where else. I initially chose Texas Appliance expecting a higher level of customer service, but my experience was nothing short of disappointing. I realize they cannot control the shipping delays with LG. However, with all the issues with my order, when it came down to a simple store policy, they were unwilling to budge. I was not asking for a discount. I was so excited to get my range insert finally replaced. My handyman recommended Texas Appliance because the insert was custom. I went to the store Richard helped me. We spend about two hours in the store with him trying to find the correct range insert to fit. I brought in my exact model and we looked up the dimensions. At the end of this, he recommended I pay $50 to have someone come and measure the existing range to make sure the new one would fit. Ok, I paid, thinking, why? The person that came to measure simply did the length width and depth. He did nothing different than what we already knew from the specs we already had. I called TX Appliance twice to pay for the new insert. We scheduled to have someone come and install it. They arrived. Very nice and professional men. They removed my existing vent and brought in a box for the new appliance. He looked at the dimensions of the new appliance on his phone and said this is WAY TOO SMALL. It would need to have 4 pieces of wood all around the existing cut out to make it fit and the wood wouldn't be stained. Or, i can buy another vent insert that was double the price. Plus pay about $200 plus more for custom cutouts to be made. I called TX Appliance and talked to Richard. They were unwilling to negotiate on anything, so we settled on a refund. The GM Identified himself as Will said we charge a 50% re-stocking fee, but he would do it for 25%. I was flabbergasted. The box hadn't even been opened and i have spent many hours of my life dealing with TX Appliance to end up with no new appliance. He puts me on hold and comes back I will do it for 10%. Why does this feel like a sleazy, shady car sales??? This was extremely, terrible customer service. Why would the customer be penalized for TX Appliance's mistake in selling me a product that won't fit? I still need a range insert. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I can't say enough about how wonderful the two installers were that came out to help me. They nearly bent over backwards researching and measuring to see what they could do to help. read more

We have positive and negative things to report about this business, but the negative outweighs the positive, so cannot rate it higher. The positive is that we were pleased with the merchandise, no complaints there at all. We found a nice selection of appliances, and I'd say that if the customer can install the appliance himself, I would recommend that. The negatives were the customer service. First, the installers had way too much trouble installing the appliances, and had to return twice to get it right. The original measurement by the installer was incorrect, and caused a lot of the problem. Again, as has already been reported by other customers, the time window of installation is very misleading. One appliance was damaged on arrival, never did get a straight answer on how it happened. The sales clerk did not file for a replacement on time, and could never explain the delay. I asked for an approximate time. morning or afternoon. I was told I needed to be available for the whole day. no 2-4 hr window. no morning or afternoon. the whole day. the person on the phone told me several times he does not control the schedule. he told me if I schedule on a day they will call me that morning to let me know what time. if I schedule and the time doesn't work for me I will be charged $50 For canceling. We purchased a Jenn Air built-in fridge when our 16 year-old Kitchen Aid went out. Neal was great and did a lot of research to help us identify what would work well for us. They then let us know about a special offer with our fridge and we got a Jenn Air dishwasher virtually free. Given the urgency, Dustin (manager) went the extra mile and reached out to the rep to try and get us one of two remaining fridges in the warehouse. We got it! The fridge install was done professionally and with great care not to bump anything. The dishwasher did not go in well because of our cabinet construction. They sent out a custom installer the next day and he fabricated a piece to make everything fit right (for a small fee). Couldn't be happier with the great service and skill. read more

We originally purchased this vent hood through AJ Madison, which was a terrible company to work with. It took them almost 3 months for us to get the vent hood, and when it was unboxed it was damaged. They gave us a hard time returning the damaged vent hood that I had to get my credit card company involved, needless to say I got my money back. Never shop with AJ Madison. So we took our business to Texas Appliance, where we worked with a Tracey Turner and we had a great experience working with her. She found what we were looking for, and got us the vent hood in less than 2 weeks. Everything went smoothly with this company and I would recommend them again if you are in the market of high end appliances. The only gripe I have is that I wish the specs would have been looked into from their end to make sure my ceiling height was able to accept the vent hood, because when the installer came out, he had to modify the install a bit to get it to work, other than that, no other gripes. read more

We purchased a KitchenAide Microwave Oven combination in May 2021. It was finally delivered on 18 October 2022. Installation was done well but delivery was in the late afternoon, not in the morning as promised. The issue I have is with the red end caps on the handles. These were NOT on the oven that I looked at in the Pantego show room when I ordered it or I would have considered something else. They can be replaced for around $28 a pair. Buyer beware: Texas Applicance would NOT replace these at no charge. I am not happy with this response, particularly since I paid for the appliance in full 18 months ago. read more

I was researching some options on line when my wife told me she stopped in when Texas Appliance was running their annual sale and my wife said that they have a brand new LG in box for $375, including delivery. Well, always one to do some research, I had the salesman send me over the specs and I did about 10 minutes of research and told my wife to get it ASAP! All of the stores that I pulled up had the same model for $800 and up. We set up a date for delivery (hook up was extra, but I hooked up my own dryer) and they carted away my old one. We have been loyal customers (Hulen store) for nearly two decades - two washer/dryer sets, refrigerator, deep freeze, and most recently a new dishwasher. All top end of the product line. The top end Electrolux washer we bought in May 2015 has started making a knocking noise during spin cycles. We called the appliance repair service TA recommended to us yrs ago (happy with them). Turns out, our 5 yr old washer requires over $1000 in repairs. The techs suggestion, contact Electrolux. We contacted TA ONLY to ask if they would help us contact Electrolux. The answer was brief - NO. Not, let me check with the manager or here's some other ideas. My wife informed him that we have been loyal customers and this will likely cost them any future business from us (getting ready to build a new custom home, so probably $30k in appliances). The response - OK. And he ended the call. If we dont get resolution with Electrolux, the replacement will likely be a Speed Queen, based on the repair techs input ($2000 washer). It won't come from TA. Jarrells and Oliver Dyer carry them also. I don't do "big box" for these types of things because I want service after the sale and am willing to pay a little more for it. Our fridge went out three days ago. It's less than six months old and has only been used by us for less than 3 months. We reached out and they have repeatedly given us the runaround. First they tried to find a repair company to come by. We live in a very rural area. The only place they could find could not work on our fridge since it's a "closed system". Then they told us our salesman needed to give them the greenlight to get us a new one. Then our salesman said he was waiting on Whirlpool to get back to him. Now he isn't answering our calls. We have been storing our food in coolers since it broke down and half our food has gone bad. We purchased a new stove, vent hood and oven from Texas Appliance. Sales job was much a like a bad used car experience. I know because my family was in the good used car business. I could deal with the salesman, because I did find the appliances I needed. There is a ton or arrogance in this place. It extends to the delivery and installation. They were more than two hours late, I would lose my job. No effort was made to contact me. I had taken off the morning for this appointment, now it was turning into the whole day. When they did arrive they had the wrong vent hood and told me they would have to come back another day to install it. Since they did have the correct stove and oven to install, I offered to go pick up the vent hood. The installers said that they would not be able to wait on me because they had a really upset customer and they could not be late to the appointment... I called the store any way, explained that I was coming and to have the vent hood ready too. I drove like a bat out of hell, got the vent hood and returned before they were finished. I think it actually ticked them off that I made it back before they had finished. When they installed the vent hood, which mounted to a free standing ceiling mounted cabinet, the pushed out the back side and the cabinet. They also scratched and dented the new appliances. I did not purchase scratch and dent. When I called the store, they were very ho-hum about the ordeal and sent their "Best Guy" or as I would phrase it "Best cocky guy" who ordered a new panel, to be delivered 6 weeks later. Told me the scratches would occur over time and did not think the vent hood was an issue. Which I thought had issues anyway because the switch was loose. "Well they're all that way" was his response. This was all a little while ago. Guess what...Had to have a repair man out to fix the vent hood because the switch is broke. Probably from the shove job from the installers. Full disclosure, I love to negotiate...even on stuff that's already marked down...and on potential delivery/installation charges. That fact is the reason I've grown to love Texas Appliance. They have a full-on showroom of high end to mid-range appliances....washer/dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, refrigerators....the whole nine. Aside from the pristine stuff on the showroom floor, they also have a Scratch & Dent section. Same manufacturer's warranties, same product, with what usually amount to minor blemishes. Why wouldn't I reap the savings here, as opposed to getting overcharged at Lowe's/THD/Conn's? My last trip to Texas Appliance, I picked up a Samsung fridge that retails for $3500, along with a stainless Whirpool dishwasher that retails for $500...the dishwasher's immaculate, the fridge has a small scratch on the side, which is covered by my countertop once backed into position against the wall. Negotiated with the floor mgr for a discount on delivery & the cost of the dishwasher....love it.Total price with tax & delivery/installation? $2,415.34. At $4,000 total retail price + 8.25% sales tax, that's a savings of $1900+ without even figuring in delivery/install charges from Sears or the like. Buyer beware....you may actually save some money on high dollar purchases by stopping in here. Love the fact that they told me that they would gladly match any in-store price I found at a competitor...Sears, Lowe's, THD, Conn's. We purchased a new washer and dryer in Fort Worth/Hulen Store. Salespeople at the store were very friendly. Store very clean, well layed out. Prices were fair. Financing was easy. It took quite a while to get our appliances in due to availability, but eventually, they came in. Delivery was scheduled, then delayed, then rescheduled due to various reasons, but only a few points are deducted in that area. The "one man and a van" delivery experience was, to me, a bit odd, but the young man (Cedron) was fast, efficient, friendly, and was careful to make sure everything was hooked up exactly as we wanted it. This experience could not have gone better. We talked and laughed while he worked. (Note: Some appliance repairmen and delivery guys don't like to talk while they're working. Not that it's a bad thing - they are just either busy concentrating on the job at hand, or they just don't like to talk much. That's OK.) I recommended Texas Appliance to my friends & family. I went to Texas Appliance with the goal of buying a Bosch dishwasher. Somehow I let myself get talked out of the 800 series Bosch and into a KitchenAid. The sales person really just waved at the Bosch and took us to the other. I know it's my fault, but I really don't like the KitchenAid. I tried to change it out, but was told there'd be a 25% restocking fee. I'm not paying an additional $400 even to get what I really want. Called the store to inquire about returning for something different, that when they dropped the ball...50% restocking fee. Which, after complaining that these fees were never disclosed, they graciously (sarcasm) lowered to 25% of the purchase price. I had to call to find out it arrive at the store and ready to deliver. On the date deliver, the rude deliver complainted about the weight of the frid and threat to reinstall back the old unit after I complain about the gap on the door due to imbalance. My experience with Texas Appliance was terrible at best. On October 4th I ordered a range and dishwasher from them and told Will my Sales Associate that I probably would need them in about 3 weeks. We are remodeling and so I was thinking that that would be enough time to get them in if they had to be ordered. Never was I informed that the manufacturer slows down production towards the end of the year. So I called Friday the 25th to set up a delivery date and he said the dishwasher wasn't in yet and wasn't exactly sure when it would be in. He said he would check and call me back on Saturday a little after 10 am and let me know when he could get the range and dishwasher delivered. So I waited on Saturday and 10 am came and went, then I called at 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm and he was busy with customers. So at the 5:30 pm call I cancelled my order. When I did Will still was not available but Wendall took care of refunding my money. Never once heard I am sorry, we apologize for the problem...nothing!
