Sunday, the day before the 4th of July, it was supposed to hit 100 degrees. When I woke up, the house seemed warmer than it should be. We usually have the thermostat set at 73 degrees but it was already reading 78. I did some initial checking and only was able to determined that the fan, on the outside unit, was possibly out. At 9:00 am, Sunday morning, I called Texas Air Masters and was able to actually speak to someone about our problem and discuss a solution. Within two hours Rico was working on the unit and replace a faulty part. Texas Air Masters saved the day. Rico even took the time to go over some routine maintenance that had been neglected. I woke up to a warmer than usual house but didn't think too much about since the temperatures are getting warmer here in San Antonio. I dropped the thermostat to 70 and 3 hours later I didn't feel the usual cold air I normally do. I checked the thermostat and it was reading 74, so I knew something was wrong. I immediately called Texas Air Masters because I have done business with them before and have been pleased. Vanessa answered my call and said someone would be here in a couple of hours. Literally 20 minutes after our call ended someone was on the way. Texas Air Masters has always provided satisfactory service but Mark took it up quite a few notches. He took his time to check the areas of concern and explained everything in detail. Ultimately I knew I probably needed a new system but having the authentic insight of Mark, made the expense much more tolerable. Do not hesitate in using Texas Air Masters. We had a A/C issue that needed attention within a 2 day period as we were going out of town. Called and the Office Manager and Mary the owner, quick to get a team out. Rico snd Ness assessed the problem, ran a test and promised to return that afternoon. Such a busy time of year for this company, but heard snd reacted to our needs. The technicians returned as promised and had our problem fixed quickly. We hired this company to service the A/C system in the home we recently purchased. The outlined a few issues and advised that a few things needed to be completed. The A/C duct work had some holes and the unit had a part needed to be replaced. The quote for the duct work was around $3000, so before moving forward we wanted to review our options and check around. We did however decide to have the part replaced that needed to by the company. The technician happened to have the part on him at that time. They replaced the part and charged us around $400. We decided to contact our home warranty company to inquire if the duct work could be covered under the policy. The following Saturday, the company came out to check our system out. They provided the same information, including that the same piece needed to be replaced. According to the home warranty company, the part was old and not working correctly. They replaced the part and the following Monday, we contacted Texas Air Masters to get a refund and discuss the part that was supposedly replaced. They advised us this could not be done. We advised that we could provide the detailed inspection that the home warranty provided in their report however the manager or owner was not willing to assist. He stated that there was not a a refund process and there was nothing he could do. As we continued to explain the situation he then advised he asked where the part was. We advised that the company took the part and recycled it as they normally do. He then changed his explanation and advised that unless we had the part that there was nothing he could do. We asked him if he had the part that was removed when his technician replaced the part for us. He stated no and that it was recycled. We then asked how are we expected to have the part in order to get a refund if he knows the process is to take the part and recycle it. We are not able to get the original part back from his company however is expecting us to get the part his company supposedly replaced in order to get a refund. We again advised we could provide the report that was provided by the home warranty company that outlined the part was faulty. Needless to say, nothing was done and he was unwilling to help. He states that he is the owner and there is no one else within the company that we are able to speak with. Customer be aware, this company is not one to do business with. Check out the other more reputable companies that offer A/C service in the area. According to the tune up report that this company provided to us, it stated that out A/C drain pipe was clean. The next week the A/C backed up and water leaked the the first floor ceiling. We called another more reputable company who advised this occurred due to a clogged drain pipe. We attempted to contact Texas Air Masters which were unwilling to discuss their faulty service. We have filed a complaint with the BBB due the lack of responsibility and unprofessional service we have received from the owner of this company. Manual V, This would be a perfect example of you not really reading the complaint or issue and responding prematurely. No where in the update did I advise your company did anything to the system that caused the water leak. I stated that according to the tune up report the tech notated the drain pipe was clean. The clogged drain caused the leak. This indicates that the tech failed to properly check the pipe. Had your tech properly performed the service that we paid for this would have not occurred. So it's not what your company did. For both situations, it is what your company failed to do. read more

My advice-avoid TAM My AC issue: it would not cool to the desired temperature set on my thermostat and would just continually run. I called TAM and they sent out a tech next day. Man seemed nice & took about 30 minutes to diagnose what he claimed was my problem. He told me I needed a new coil and emergency plate. He did not know pricing off hand but someone from the office would call me. The admin lady emailed me a quote the next day for almost $6,000. I ended up getting a second opinion and they fixed my issue for $100. My AC has been working just fine since. It's hard to believe people would try and take advantage of these situations knowing how valuable AC is in Texas summers. And companies wonder why most people don't trust them. read more

Just had my unit replaced by Texas Air Masters. They where very courteous, on time, and really took the time to explain everything. Ms. Mary and John where extremely helpful and really worked with us in helping us select the right plan for our house. Both technicians that came out to install our unit where very respectful and worked long hours to ensure that we had our unit before the cold front came in. I feel awful about it taking me this long to write this, because they helped me out so much with our new house. Two days after moving in - the ac started acting up - I thought it was just because of the extreme heat (August) - the house we moved from had limitations in extreme heat situations!!! It finally became too much and we called someone (else) - he charged us $400 to recharge the coolant and by morning - same problem...on Sunday morning! Called numerous companies and Texas Air was the ONLY one to make arrangements for us - the poor tech was here till 10:30 at night, but had the best attitude! We ended up needing a new condenser which was taken care of the next day (coolant was recharged at no fee that evening) - so happy to have found them - will be using them when we replace a different older unit in the future for sure!!!! read more

Texas Air Masters was recommended to us by a friend when our A/C failed to cool in the hottest part of Texas summer. I had several recommendations so I checked them each by the BBB before I called all three for service and since the temp inside the house was approaching 90 at 10 am I was going to go with the one who could arrive the soonest. Texas Air Masters had the earliest time available and even came earlier than the original plan. They evaluated our system and offered options. 1. the part that has failed and if replaced will allow the system to run and cool again (~$300) 2. replace that part and clean our coils in the condenser which I knew needed cleaning (~$1,000) and 3. replace the part, replace the coils which would only be advised in the case of a leak which I knew we had based on inspection by a third party in the winter time (~$1,200). Anthony and Christopher were clear and detailed in their description of what service they would provide and my husband has said since the work has been done he has slept better in our house better than he has in the last three years. We were very pleased with the BBB rating, the professionalism and efficiency of the men who provided service to our AC and the great improvement to the way the system is running now. read more

Avoid this company! We contacted them for a seasonal check-up even though we were not having noticeable problems (it had been a while since our last check). The technician appeared to be very thorough and left options to solve problems we were not aware of, BUT-- once he told us to shut down our big unit and that it needed replacement -- that they could do for $8,500 -- we became concerned. Options short of replacement were not cheap either and they were quoting a cost of freon at $225/lb. We contacted Air Rescue the next day and he indicated our unit was fine. It did need freon but only half what the Tx Air Master rep indicated and (Air Rescue) only charges $90/lb--for about $600 we were back in business. Additionally, the Tx Air Master rep incorrectly positioned a switch that almost started a fire--the Air Rescue rep caught the problem and fixed it. NO LOVE for Texas Air Masters! read more

An extremely defensive company who tries to upsell you on things you don't need. Terrible company and salesman because HVAC employees are mostly salesmen and not technicians. We have obvious issues with our indoor AC unit and called out Texas Air Masters to look at it. Before the technician's arrival, our house was still cooling to 73 degrees. The diagnosis was a new coil or indoor unit and as the owner of the house I agreed there are serious issues. However, he kept trying to upsell me for a new unit completely using my baby as a sales point that it was in her best interest. I told the technician I wanted to get a second opinion and he left while leaving our attic door open and a mess below. I had to get out a step stool to close the attic because I am too short to close it on my own. After he left our house never got below 80 degrees so we called the company back and kindly asked if something happened or the technician could come back out. Both the technician and the dispatcher got extremely defensive. We were not accusing them of anything. Just wanted to see if a mistake was made because mistakes can happen. Your company isn't perfect. After talking to the technician he said it should cool down in a couple hours so the dispatcher called me back and asked me if the issue was resolved and I told her yes because at the time I thought it was, but the house never cooled down. My husband, newborn child and I stayed in a hotel. Then we scheduled a time for them to come back out the next day to look at it. Well, the dispatcher just called me and they basically fired us because they feel we don't trust them. I am so confused by this service. I have never been treated this way. John came to my house to give me a quote for a total AC system replacement on 21 March, very polite fella. He said I'd have a quote the next day, but after many calls and conversations over 2 weeks...nothing, 17 days later I'm still without a quote. 2 days ago John told me that he'd get me the quote and take a little off the total to make up for my frustration...still no quote & still frustrated. With this level of reliability, I don't think I'll risk $20K or so for their service. I'll go someplace where they'll appreciate my business and value my time. The ladies who answer the phones there are very polite and try to provide good service...too bad the rest of Texas Air Masters doesn't match the level of service these ladies give. read more

On June 27 we woke up to a warm house at 5:00 in the morning. I called this company in a desperate plea as my husband was at home on hospice. Mary (says she is the owner) became very defensive with me. Joe was our tech and I have been told he has been fired. He told us everything needed to be replaced. This was on a Friday and was told they could do it on Saturday and be finished at 5:00. He ask how early could they start because of the heat. I told him as early as 4 or 5 because we would be at a hotel. He said we will be here between 8-10. On Saturday at 5 pm I called and Mary said it would be 2 more hours. Making it 7, then a manager?? called saying they were finished the a/c was running and it would need to cool down. We decided to stay another night at the hotel as the stories weren't matching. We were at least 35 minutes from our home. Then at 6:55, Joe the tech called and said they had been finished about 45 minutes. Nobodies stories and when we returned home Sunday morning it was 75 and the house was full of mosquitoes. We were travelling with my husband on hospice, 2 small dogs, my grown son and myself. They had poor customer service, gave us huge issues over billing. The company is in some owner transition that is creating an unsure feeling of its future. read more

The people at Texas Airmasters are what make it great. Two years ago, we had them install a whole house system in our hundred year old bungalow while we were living in it.
