After striking out with other companies, I phoned Veteran Air. Lisa answered, listened, and looped in her service manager right away. Minutes later she called back: they could help, and we booked for Monday. Matthew, from Veteran Air, showed up this morning and was a total pro. He greeted my dogs like old friends, then tackled the monster unit without scratching the window frame or siding. Watching him wrestle that sealed-in relic out of the wall convinced me I never could've done it alone. The unbelievable thing? The bill was tiny. Way less than I expected for the time, tools, and muscle it took and such a good value. When I'm ready to add central AC, Veteran Air will be my first call. If they put this much care into a one-off rescue job, I can't wait to see how they handle a full install. Five stars, no hesitation.

Ordered the part and at 2pm two techs: Jonathan Osorio and Adriana Rodriguez, arrived with the required parts and replaced the blower. All was covered under their great warranty. We were warm and comfortable last night thanks to their hard work. I can't say enough good things about this companies professionalism and skills. The AC was running fine until they arrived. Shortly after the workman left the AC stopped working. They came back the next day and diagnosed it as a bad compressor. I had my suspicions that they did something that caused the compressor to fail, but there was no way to prove it. I told the workman that the AC was still under warranty, so the compressor would be free and I would be happy to pay them to repair it since they are a certified American Standard dealer. After the workman spoke to his supervisor, he told me that they couldn't fix it because there were no compressors available in the San Antonio area and left in a hurry. I called another certified AS dealer the same day and they came out to look at it. I explained what had happened and they said that everything that Wilks told was not true. They got the compressor from a local HVAC supply store in about a day and charged me for labor to install the new compressor. I think Wilks didn't want to repair it because it was a warranty claim so they wouldn't make as much money. After that episode, I will never let this company close to my HVAC system and I cannot in good faith recommend them to anyone because if they break it then they will not fix it.

Unfortunately during that process the air pressure knocked out a pipe out of place and one week later we had more water issues. Albert and his team came right in Sol what the problem was and fix things right away. He also offered insight on how to keep it from happening in the future and how to keep the system on. There are some underlying duct layout inconsistencies in my particular system but the valve issue was found and they are taking care of it. Aside from that, they really do have great service. All the techs have been thorough and pleasant. The owner, Henry, personally came out to look at my system after the ongoing issues and explained everything to me in an easy to understand way. It's clear now that I've chosen the right company to do business with. Last night, I was pissed because my system was having issues. Today, I feel confident that they found the problem and solution.
