I stop into the Texan Market several times a week to pick up snacks, treats, energy drinks, adult beverages, etc. I really like the people who work here. They're friendly and remember me and my family members as repeat customers. I found this Shell station to be a hidden gem in this neighborhood. It is a small station with only 4 pumps. They are modern and the station is clean. It is also very accessible from the road. The only negative about this location is the space around the pumps. The side facing the convenience store has good room to maneuver, but the side facing the road is tight. That said, I would still return here to fill my vehicle. read more

Been a regular here for several years. Great store with great people but, sadly, I can't buy beer here anymore because nothing is actually priced. And what is priced is usually inaccurate. I've mentioned it several times but no one seems to care. I'm now just going to HEB where everything is clearly marked. Too bad because it's a good selection. read more

The store is very clean, the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they take pride in being a neighborhood store that caters to families. The craft beer selection is second to none and wine choices are very competitive with big box stores. Shell gas is best on market and I like the easy access. This gas station/convenience store/farmer's market is so awesome that friends I have who have since moved from the neighborhood often reminisce about how awesome it is, and lament the fact that they can no longer go there. They have a great wine/beer selection (not anything on par with some place like whip-in, but more than enough to keep me entertained, and with a constantly evolving selection), and they have these delicious chopped beef sandwiches that they make fresh daily, after the breakfast tacos are finished. The staff is always friendly and happy to serve. Every Wednesday and Saturday they have a little farmer's market set up outside with fresh produce, eggs, etc. I took off one star because their actual gas prices are about five percent higher than the area, but I still fill up there because they are so awesome, and I like to support awesomeness. read more

Whomever manages the beer selection does an excellent job at curation - some of the bottled selections are difficult to find, as well as stable favorites. This is what a neighborhood store should be. Tucked away down Amherst a ways from Parmer, this little store (and the shopping center it's a part of) is easily overlooked by anyone driving through the area. There are larger gas stations flanking it on both Parmer and Duval. As a result, this little market primarily serves the neighborhood that surrounds it, and it does a great job of it. Unlike a lot of convenience stores, most of the employees here have been here for a while, and they know and appreciate their regular customers. They support the local elementary school. They respond quickly and effectively to customer feedback. On top of all that, they have a wine and beer selection that rivals those of much larger stores. Texan Market is one of the many things that make the Milwood and Walnut Crossing neighborhoods truly special. read more

Never did I think I would be reviewing a convenience store, but this place is awesome! The beer selection is way better than any other corner store I've been to. It was like I had just walked into the Central Market beer section. They also carry the "Oma's Choice" brand jerky's, salsas, and other various items in jars. They all look amazing. I hear they have breakfast tacos in the morning, but have yet to try them. The staff are very friendly. Was going there pretty much 3 times a week for 2 years for whatever stuff, mostly in the mornings. Normally the morning person is nice and friendly. Today was a newer person that I believed must have came back from lord knows what. She doesn't belong talking to customers. There was a gas pump issue, went and told her about it, she told me that there is nothing wrong with the pump and they were just checked by the State or whoever checks them. Okay, Went to purchase a carton of cigarettes, they didn't have a carton they had 7 packs. She only wanted to sell me 5. Wanted to save for other customers. It's not water, toilet paper or cleaning products. It's cigarettes. Want vs need. I made an assumption that they are in the business of selling goods. She developed an attitude in zero seconds. Needless to say I will not go to this store anymore. I'll drive the 2 extra minutes down the street. I'll miss the evening shift dudes, They were cool. This is not your regular corner store. Like the reviewer before me, the breakfast tacos are unusually good. They also have a vendor on the weekends setup shop out front with a small farmers market selling fresh produce. Great selection of food and drinks. However, I go here for the fact that they are the only shop I know of for miles that stock Dubli Dr. Pepper, unless you want to pay the premium at Spec's in the Arbor Walk. The Texan Market- Your modern day " Cheer" store. I have been shopping here for over a decade. This market has the best wine selection I have ever seen at a Market! Not only that this store has the largest " Craft Beer" selection. If you are looking for that special beer that you had from your home town- check them out they may have it! If not, you may request they carry it and after over a decade of request myself, the next time I went in they had what I was looking for. They are amazing about taking care of their customers. Especially, if you live in the neighborhood. The staff- Unbelievable. They are fast, efficient and care about their customers. If you are looking for that special craft beer- check them out! They may have it. If not, request they carry it. You may be surprised the next time you shop there, you may find it in the cooler next time you go. I know. I have made several request over the years and since they knew I would be a loyal customer to purchase the requested product, they had it the next time I went. Ex: requested a certain brand of energy bars, beer or wine ( it was in stock). Wow! Amazing! A store that truly listens to their customers. They just updated their pumps! Yea! Pumps work fast and always have receipts so you don't have to walk in to get one! Bonus! We used to live in the neighborhood, and although prices are a teeny bit more than some other places, I'm happy to pay a little more for quality service and selection. I love this place. All of the staff is super friendly, and they make it a point to small talk with you. They have a huge selection of beer (which is important to me haha) and they are one of the only convenience stores I know of that have an wine isle.
