My all time favorite. This is from a woman who spent $500 on chocolate in Switzerland with the intention of keeping as reserves in the States. That reserve lasted only one week The champagne truffles are exquisite! Nothing compares. It makes Godiva truffles taste like Nestlé read more

It's like walking into a miniature fairy tale garden filled with amazing chocolate and colorful packages everywhere! I've been coming here since I was a teenager and I have fond memories of getting these delightful chocolates as gifts on my birthday or in my stocking at Christmastime. Teuscher is my second favorite chocolatier in NYC (surpassed thus far only by La Maison du Chocolate). Shopping here can be a challenge during the height of the tourist seasons (Summertime and any time between Thanksgiving & Christmas), but even I (person of zero patience that avoids the touristy parts of NY at all cost) will make an exception to obtain some of these lovelies from time to time. At about $60 a pound, these chocolates are not cheap. But in exchange, you will receive light, creamy, wonderful chocolates that do not taste overly sweet or waxy (like the crap that Godiva tries to pawn off as chocolate these days). The little hazelnut praline filled numbers are my favorite. This store offers unique and gorgeous "fantasy" packaging for holidays and other special occasions. You can have your chocolates "gift wrapped" in these special little colorful boxes that are covered in beautiful paper figures (Santa, elves, trees, bunnies, flowers, etc). Check out their website to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. These have been a hit with every person I've ever bought them for. read more

Teuschers chocolates are my favorite in NYC. They are great for gifts because of the unique packaging, and you cannot go wrong with the champagne truffles. The pieces are expensive, so while they make great gifts I wouldn't come here regularly for chocolate. I think they have a good mix of white, praline, and alcohol-flavored (they have wine, baileys, and other interesting alcohol chocolates you don't see everywhere). I also think their salted caramel is one of the better salted caramels in the city and their pralines are very good as well. For dark chocolates, you might want to go with Jacques Torres because they have a broader selection. They have a few good marzipan options as well, particularly the chili marzipan. Unlike locations outside Manhattan, this store does not have a cafe with chocolate beverages (too bad!). read more

This place is expensive but OMG the chocolate is amazing. I had the champagne truffle and the hazlenut praline...melts in your mouth. You almost drool while you are eating one. They also have these adorable animal boxes to put a truffle in them. I had to get one for my son. Too irresistible not to and the sales people were great. read more

1. Champagne truffles. What can I say that hasn't already been said? Do yourself a favor and try one of these. You'll thank me. 2. Chocolate covered ginger. Sounds gross, but is completely amazing. Yummy. This is my favorite chocolate shop in the city. And I don't even really like chocolate all that much. Definitely recommended, if you can push your way through all the tourists. read more

Well went again (twice) recently during the holiday rush and service was friendly and efficient! Champagne truffles once again - Heavenly!! On a whim I tried the champagne truffles from Maison du chocolat since I was in the area, however hands down these are my favorite!! Expensive but oh so worth it if you are a chocolate lover! read more

The chocolates were amazing! But the sales guy was such a btchy queen! I asked him to describe the chocolates I might be interested in and after much sighing and eye rolling, with the fourth chocolate I asked about, he simply said "Look those are truffles, they are filled with what they are named so clearly the mocha truffle is filled with mocha, it's self explanatory" I had thought about walking out but decided that a rude server won't ruin the mood for chocolate. I just didn't buy as much as I would have. With so many places to buy chocolate in NYC, i'd likely not be back here. read more

While Teuscher may make delicious chocolate delicacies that tourists flock to, even a non-chocolate lover like me got lured in by it's beautiful store decor. It's not that I don't like chocolate... it's good, but I don't get a craving for it like most people. From the outside, the bright colors in their store display would catch anybody's eye. My friends wanted to try their chocolates out, so I went with them inside. It's a small store and we went it wasn't crowded at all. Their display case is full of chocolates! So many shapes and sizes and so many to choose from. I was able to try one and it slips my mind which one it was. I thought it was good, but I'm no chocolate connoisseur... Chocolate is chocolate. What I do remember is that the prices were outrageous! read more

I am in love with the Champagne Truffles!! I can consume the whole 24 box in 2 days!!! (I guess that's not so bad bc the chocolates are best consumed within 10 days) You can also get these shipped to you! FYI!! ;) read more

This chocalatier is the best one ( also the most expensive) that I have been to in the city. The each pieces was deliciously filling. They have these real amazing Christmas gift boxes that are actually double the price of the chocolate that goes into them. If you want to go all out and can handle the massive crowd on 5th avenue/ rockafeller center And are willing to spend almost a 100 $ on a delicious snack. This is the place to go read more

This particular chocolate shop stood out to me and probably to most people as well because of its absolutely beautiful designs that are display by the windows. It attracts your eyes as I've probably seen 10 people passing by taking pictures of them. I thinks a great place to shop if you're looking for something charming for a loved one or your friends as the pieces do look individually personalized. I took off one star because I do think it's a tad bit overpriced even for great chocolate. A little chocolate bar that we purchased was about $10. Overall, great little spot! read more

Close at 6pm...though I am so close to this place, it is almost impossible to get a sweet after work. The decoration is super cute and attractive. All sweets are priced by weight, on average around $2-3 per piece. Truffles are famous and fresh, melting in your mouth! The staff is helpful and makes recommendation based on your choices. So happy they have stores worldwide! read more

Excellent champagne truffles.

I bought a dark chocolate assortment to ship to my boyfriend. I expected to choose a la carte from a counter display but the shop is filled with wrapped assortments. I love the dark chocolate champagne truffles. There's a good balance of deep flavor and effervescent texture. They accept American Express gift cards. read more

Stumbled upon this chocolatier during my first post-Sandy stroll. Since it was one of the only few stores open at Rockefeller plaza at that time we decided to walk in. The store was beautifully decorated and chocolates looked exquisite. I picked out a few cute ones and walked out very happily. The story went downside from there: their chocolates were too sweet for my taste and I ended up having to throw one away! :( read more

MR says... loved the orange chocolate! MRS says... we tried at least three different kinds (well same concept of fruits being covered with dark chocolate) and i personally think there isn't much difference to GODIVA ... i guess i'm so used to just eating belgian chocolates than swiss made. its overly priced... i'll just go for lindt chocolates if ever i desire swiss. read more

Teuscher chocolate will send you to the heavens. I have a serious thing for Swiss chocolate, and their raspberry liquor truffle sent me over the edge. They are known for their champagne truffles and are often considered to the best in the world. But as always, the best comes with a price. Most individual pieces will sent you back $2 - $3. There also are boxes and bars available. I also fell in love with their specialized Christmas ornaments that also serve as a chocolate box. They are old school and probably something you could make for half the price. But I'm lazy, and mine wouldn't come with chocolate. The smallest starts at $11 and comes with 2 champagne truffles on the inside. read more

The Champagne Truffle. . . O M G... Heaven! (come in Milk chocolate or dark chocolate) you can taste the champagne mousse in the creamy center. its a great bite with the right amount of milk chocolate and champagne. if you are looking for a nice end to a lunch of 5th Ave, or great little gift for a friend/coworker/anyone, consider getting a 12 pack box of these truffles. you won't regret it! :) read more

Champagne truffles - dark and milk chocolate. What more can I ask for??!!!! Service is good, the folks here are always polite and make good conversation. I always get the truffles here as they make perfect gifts. Everyone loves chocolate and everyone I gift loves these truffles. I wish they had some kind of discount card (buy 10 and get a small box free?) as it is expensive. I haven't tried anything else as I can't get past the champagne truffles! read more

Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland is certainly rather amazing. Love the workers and the atmosphere. Every item that we ordered was extra fresh and delicious. Staff was very sweet and helpful in every way possible. Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland is bliss. read more

Store window is kitchy with seasonal displays. It recently looked like the fake flowers exploded from Joann's crafts. The displays in store aren't appealing enough for a place that charges $70+/lb for it's chocolate. Sales help isn't too interested in helping and seems put out when asked questions. Tried a pretty wide selection of chocolates. Most were pretty disappointing - especially the marzipan. I've gotten better in prepackaged bars. The only thing worth the price or trip are the champagne truffles. They melt in your mouth like butter and the filling had just the slightest tang to contrast. Perfection. Overall, your money is much better spent at Maison du Chocolate just a couple blocks away. Stop here for a couple truffles and then get the rest at Maison. Add a stop at Leonidas for your own personal chocolate tour. read more

I've been eating these truffles since I was about 3 and they rock my world. They're made in Switzerland and they fly them over here on a weekly basis. They're rich and flavorful but not overly sweet. I don't like everything they make so I just stick to my favorites. The dark chocolate truffles, gianduja truffles orange peels (slivers, NOT slices) and the choco bars. I don't like the champagne truffles here...they have a crunch which is a turn off. There are some other truffles that are tasty but don't go crazy as they charge $75 a pound. Store is super cutesy inside and always full of great service and decoration. read more

Just received a big box of Champagne truffles from my sister (who buys them for me every now and then) and have to admit, I ate them all by myself within a couple of days... That is how good their champagne truffles are. Do not come here if you aren't going to try one of their champagne truffles. Milk or dark chocolate, regular-size or mini...you must try! With exception to the champagne truffles--everything else is of course good, but I have had better versions elsewhere. read more

It's easy for me to forget about Teuscher because I actually reside in Los Angeles, but when I am going to NY for a trip, I always make sure to stop in here and pick up champage truffles for family and friends. And by the way? It's the BEST chocholate. Seriously. Worth the price of admission, folks. Just don't kill your wallet in there- cause that can happen. read more

Awful customer service. Reason alone not to bother, a side from the overpriced chocolates.

Champagne Truffles are amazing. When you shop in the store, they have "mini" truffles which are even better. I absolutely recommend these as a highlight of a trek along 5th Ave (among other distractions). Other chocolates from the case weren't as impressive (or disappointing: the triple-layer gianduja was dry and crumbled apart in the bag). Oh, and don't expect that the chocolate will be packaged nicely with a self-selected assortment: you get a clear plastic baggy like you just bought bulk dime store candy. Otherwise, staff was courteous and helpful. So, yay! I'm a fan of one piece! Rather generous rating for one piece ... ah well. read more

I love chocolate. I had heard of this place but never went in because it is very expensive. But I have to say that when I tried it this week I was really impressed. This IS the most delicious chocolate I have EVER had. The store is lovely and the staff is very nice. You can browse and get what you like or pick out individuals from the case. Personally my favorites are the chocolate raspberry truffes. Rich, creamy, not too sweet. As high as the prices are I still treat myself. We only live once. This is worth the indulgence. read more

I placed an order online for same day delivery by messenger. Unfortunately when I received my confirmation it was for next day delivery. I called the shop when they opened and explained what happened asking if this could be changed. The sales person who took my call (Alexis) told me that since it was Sunday the person who is responsible for the deliveries was off but would assist me the following day. I told her that this was a birthday gift for a special friend and needed to be delivered that day. Alexis not only contacted her colleague on her day off but they managed to have the chocolates delivered by messenger. My friend who lived in Switzerland was very surprised and I was very impressed when Alexis called me back to confirm delivery. Teuscher is not only a premium product but they also have superior customer service. My heartfelt thanks! read more

Interestingly im not a big chocolate fan.. One day when I was visiting a friend he told me to grab one piece of chocolate from a small box on his coffee table. I took one casually and when I put it in my mouth, immediately couldnt figure out what was going on.. It was just sooo good, unlike anything Ive tasted. I later asked him about it, as we had to get chocolate for a work event and went to the midtown location.. The store is cute. The only reason for minus one star are the prices and the fact that they didnt let me try a couple of truflles.. I assumed they'd be open to a sampling, thinking that I was spending more than $200 with the corporate card. But as for tastiness and quality, pretty impressive goodies! read more

As soon as I entered the shop I was blasted in my ears by salsa music. This immediately lowered my enthusiasm as I was so excited to buy Teuscher chocolates. If I'm going to spend a high amount of money on a few chocolates I want the experience to be nice! Very disappointed. read more

Almost as costly as a trip to Geneva, but every mouthwatering moment is worth the expense. The truffles are sinfully rich, the marzipan creations almost too beautiful to eat. The price of a pound is roughly a paycheck and a half, but fortunately they sell by the piece, so you can satisfy your craving without going broke. No trip to Rockefeller Center is complete without a visit to this shop. read more

Soooooooo yummy. Definitely in a price range to be saved for special occasions, but my oh my how special those occasions are! I haven't found any better chocolate in New York, and believe me, I know from chocolate! Purchased a few items from the case as a treat for myself and my sister since she was visiting the East Coast. I've had swiss chocolates before and none of them ever tasted this stale. They made me hate pistachio...and it is one of my first loves... Would not come here again. I feel like this place is a place where fancy people buy over priced things and are afraid to say that they don't like it so they hype it up and everyone hypes it up so no one admits they bought shit. read more
