The name is terrible... I just have to say that, and I thought that from the second, I walked in to the little kiosk in Bryant Park . However ... that being said... The chocolate is delicious. It does melt in your mouth. You do have to hold it and not chew. There is so much delicious chocolate flavor. They're expensive but I don't care I bought 30 of them
We stopped by the No Chewing Allowed popup store in Bryant park! It was such a cute store and the truffles definitely didn't need to be chewed! They melted right in your mouth! I'd suggest stopping but this location as this can be a great location for gifts or to sample for different sweet treats! The employees were very responsive!
They used to have several locations in the city but only see them now in Holiday Market in Bryant Park (maybe one other location) other than ordering online. Good variety and makes good gift. Not cheap but they are good truffles by those who have tried and I have bought enough as gifts - the original, the variety box and some of the new flavors. Everyone enjoyed them all. Even though it gets crowded, the check out lines goes fast. Check it out during the holiday season as it comes around fast! Curious to see what new flavors are in store for this year.
The lines are low to buy some hot chocolate, but there's a reason. It's a 10 out of 10. Great stop Bryant Park. Beautiful set up during holidays
The holiday market is a zoo to say the least. About a 15 minute wait in line. There is a dedicated hot chocolate line, it moves fast though. One size for $8 It's small but so decadent, my boyfriend and I could've shared. I really enjoyed it, and think it's completely worth it. My boyfriend thought it was just ok It's not the run of the mill Swiss miss or regular powdery hot chocolate. It's very chocolaty, thick and smooth.
When the locals direct you to places you go, and this was on top of New York to try list. I stood in a long line, but it went pretty fast. The line is for a cup of hot chocolate, one Suze one flavor only, which was very rich and perfectly sized for drinking on a chilly NY evening. I found out later that the store part sells truffles (which are in the hot chocolate). Definitely see why people say it's a tradition to go here and have no chewing allowed's, hot chocolate every year
I mean as far as hot chocolate goes... this is fantastic!! It tastes like what I feel like sticking my head under a chocolate fountain would be like. I was originally apprehensive because the cup was smaller, but it was the perfect amount. It was so good I went back and bought the materials to make it myself. Definitely go!! Also, in Bryant Park, the line goes quicker than it seems.
I read online that among the dozens of hot chocolate purveyors at Bryan Park's Winter Village, No Chewing Allowed is considered to be the best. Curious to try it for myself, I waited in a long line (it seemed like everyone else had read the same blog post). When I got to the front of the line, I saw what the commotion was about - each cup includes an entire chocolate truffle submerged in molten milk chocolate. A small cup (approximately 8 oz.) cost around $7. The consistency reminded me of European sipping chocolate, but the flavor was sweeter and milder (AKA more "kid friendly"). My brother, who usually isn't a fan of hot chocolate, proclaimed it was the "best hot chocolate he had ever tasted." While I prefer my hot chocolate more on the bittersweet side, I can see why No Chewing Allowed's hot chocolate has become a fan favorite and synonymous with the holiday season.
I died and went to flavor heaven. The hot chocolate is made with a whole added truffle to the hot Coca. I gladly burnt the top of my mouth multiple times in order to taste it over and over. I wished I had a spoon or stick to stir up the gooey chocolate on the bottom before I emptied the cup. Well worth the $7 I also bought some truffles individually wrapped to go. The PISTACHIO has real flavor that I could actually taste, probably the first time that I could taste a flavor so prominent that I could tell you what it was blindfolded. The other flavors are great too, wasn't brave enough to get the popcorn one. Definitely will order these truffles whenever I need a chocolate fix.
Visited No Chewing Allowed at Christmas Village. There was a long line for hot chocolate but it was worth it! The hot chocolate was super rich. It was a little sweeter than I prefer but you could really taste the quality of the chocolate. Before pouring the hot chocolate in your cup they drop one of their truffles to further intensify the chocolatey flavor. Perfect for a chilly winter night! Speaking of the truffles...they pretty much melt in your mouth. They hand out free samples inside and tell you "no chewing allowed". They are rich without being overly sweet and the texture is unlike your normal truffles with a hard outer shell. I brought home a variety of flavors to try and I would say the pistachio was my favorite.
If you want to find the best hot chocolate, this is the place. Every year I try to attend the Bryant park holiday markets and this is always my favorite spot. Turns out everyone else knows too now! The line was out and around the shop this year! I'm glad everyone is starting to know about them! The chocolate itself really does melt in your mouth. My favorites have to be the original and pistachio. I always buy a bunch to give out to friends and have at home. There is not one person I know that doesn't enjoy it as much as I do!
Always a fan favorite in our family. No Chewing Allowed is one of those once-a-year traditions where I happily accept that I'm paying way too much... because it makes everyone so happy ! You have to get an assortment of the chocolates--there's something for everyone, and they always feel special and indulgent. It's become part of the fun to bring them home and let everyone pick their favorites. I suggest the following - bring your own tote so you don't have to pay for a bag (and you'll save a little paper, too). Pricey, yes--but for us, totally worth it once a year. read more
Yum, yum french truffle chocolates! During our visit at One Times Square, during the Holidays we happened to stumble upon pop up stores of goodies, ,Holiday trinkets & more treats and NCA was the best find of our trip! It was so interestingly simple yet full of flavors. I wanted more, more, more, as Billy Idol would! It melts in your mouth like a delicate of decadence and wakes up every corner of your palette being! A true testament of a treat! Yum! read more
I had seen a lot of recommendations to check out no chewing allowed, as people were saying time and time again they have the best hot chocolate, and I have to agree!! The truffles are great too! My favorite is the pistachio, followed by the raspberry! This will help you practice self control, as the main rule with the truffles is NO CHEWING ALLOWED! read more

A delicious cup of hot chocolate. Saw a long line for this and assumed it was worth the wait. It definitely was! Smooth, rich and delicious. Perfect for a cold day! The line was definitely long and seemed to move pretty slow. There was also no sign for how much a cup cost so that was a bit strange too. Still a great cup of hot chocolate. read more

The absolute BEST. Wasn't even a chocolate fan till finding them 10 years ago. Gave it to my dying grandmother for her last Christmas. She told me she was so happy she got to have "the best chocolate ever in her life" before she left us.. She always shares but she didn't share this time..thank goodness.. Lovely owner as well.. And the employees as well. Just the best read more
Must try this if you are a fan of hot chocolate! Stay and wait for the line! Ask for a sample of the mini truffle! We arrived around lunch time during holiday time, and the wait was 5 minutes to order and another 5 minutes to wait for the drinks. We also ordered the fine truffle chocolate box. There are about 3 different box sizes for their original, and there is 1 variety box with 4 flavors. read more

Came upon the booth while in Bryant park. The original truffle is incredible and true to their name does not require or warrant any chewing whatsoever. It's rich, flavorful, smooth and melts in your mouth. Also got the hot chocolate and was very very happy with it. It comes in a single size and one type and it definitely a must try! They don't have a retail location and only have the pop up booths during holidays but they ship throughout the year. read more

I'm so happy I ran into this little pop-up shop at Bryant Park. Hands down, the best hot chocolate i've ever had. :) So chocolatey & creamy! read more
As I was walking around Byrant Park checking out the holiday pop-up stores, only one store had a long line. Being the nosy parker that I am and fully motivated by FOMO, I stopped by to check out what the hullaballoo was about. Turns out they were all waiting for hot chocolate. I just had to join the line and was happy to get the yummy rich hot chocolate which was greatly appreciated on a chilly evening. read more
You can't miss this store! There are two sides of the store. One crazy lineup for hot chocolate and another section just to buy their chocolate truffles. I didn't want to want in line so I decided to go in the store to buy some chocolates to take home! I decided to opt-in for their grab your own flavour which cost 1.25 USD if you buy more than 10 truffles. There were many flavours to choose from: orange, raspberry, pistascio, regular, popcorn, and hazelnut. The packaging of each chocolate is so cute and the truffles tasted delicious The pistascio is probably my favourite! If I do come back to NY I'm definitely coming back for a visit! :) read more

Hot chocolate is a must for the holiday market! This place is always my go-to spot just because I know for sure that they don't make it with Swiss miss lol For each hot chocolate, they always drop a truffle in it! Rich, creamy, and chocolaty! And most importantly, not too sweet for my Asian palate haha Sadly, it's getting more and more expensive every year--it's 6.5 for each hot chocolate now. Even if you're not planning to get a hot chocolate, at least drop by for their free truffle sample! read more
Omg! If I could give this chocolate a million stars I would. I know good quality chocolate, and this is forsure it. I found this place in Bryant park (during the holidays, not sure where else it is year round) and the sample guy hooked me. As soon as I put the chocolate in my mouth, it melted. (It's literally no chewing allowed, not that you even need to)! It is very rich and silky, and you can taste pure delicious chocolate. They have a variety of flavors, but the classic chocolate is the best. They also make fresh hot chocolate by dropping the chocolate straight in the cup, made to order. The price is so worth it. The only small issue I had was the cashier misinformed me on the shipping, but maybe he didn't know. I asked him if they ship to California because I was just in New York for a few weeks for Christmas. He said they don't ship, so I stocked up on a few boxes. I was really ready to get rid of some clothes to take the chocolate home that's how good it is. I looked online later and saw they do ship to CA which was a little annoying but that's okay. read more
Wow this was some quality hot chocolate!! It was thick and creamy and not watery at all. And I believe they added a truffle to add more of that chocolatey goodness. Not gonna lie it was expensive for hot chocolate ($6) and probably not something I could get often. But honestly for quality hot chocolate like this, I'd get it again when I'm really craving a good one. Btw the marshmallows did not come with it those are my own halal marshmallows since I can't have regular ones. Yes I carried halal marshmallows just to try this hot chocolate don't judge me. read more
