I was actually on my way to another chocolate store in Grand Central to buy some chocolate as a gift to some co-workers I was going to visit the following week. As I walked by, the chocolate caught my eye and when I entered, the young lady with the samples of hazelnut chocolate bark caught my attention and my tastebuds....it was so good! So that detour derailed my plans to visit the other store and I loaded up here. I bought several boxes of truffles which were well received by my colleagues. Make no mistake, this place is pricey but if you want to treat yourself, you won't be disappointed. I have a trip to Geneva next month so I won't bring Swiss chocolates there, but anywhere else I would go, this would be a great place to pick up a nice present.

This is my favorite chocolate store. I tried it for the first time when I was in Frankfurt, Germany. I am glad it's available in NYC. Upon entering there's a staff who gave out samples. At the back there's a display of truffles including liquor infused kinds. Boxes of chocolate are all around the wall. At the middle you can pick individually wrapped chocolate and you pay by the weight. The main attraction is the chocolate Statue of Liberty. I am having a hard time making my selections from slabs of several kinds of chocolate. My favorites are Dubai, strawberry, hazelnut, and coffee. Definitely stop by for high quality chocolate when you are on 5th Avenue

Ok this is my absolute fav chocolatier. We have one in Tampa but not this size and not with all of these offerings. The Statue of Liberty is made out of all chocolate! Amazing. They have samples when you walk in and you can also request to sample the chocolate they have behind the counter that you can purchase by size. They even have matcha flavored for a limited time. I really liked how they had the chocolate in little individual packages that you could fill in a bag for variety. I got almost 2 of each for like $25. Staff was welcoming and friendly talking to us about the flavors and answering hubs questions about the chocolate and the Liberty statue.

Returned to Diane C's favorite chocolatier and....once again....I left satisfied and floating on cloud 9. Today's small box order consisted of: Champagne, Milk Chocolate, and Cognac Truffles. Every truffle was delightful and it's never enough. I hope that everyone will get to experience Laderach and enjoy the sweet goodness of the best of the best.

Swuss delight in the form of chocolate. I love dark & white chocolate.

A trip o Switzerland without boarding a plane. In awe of the options. You have to pinch yourself to make a choice. Are you in the mood for bark,truffles/praises with or without alcohol. There is always a sample w going in and out the door.

    Solid chocolate!

Who doesn't love fresh creamy chocolate? The staff here is friendly and very generous with the samples. Laderach understands how to hook you in! Once you savor the sample, you simply have to try and buy more It's pricey but if you can get to Switzerland, buy it! My fav is the milk chocolate almond follower by the raspberry blackberry. Hubby's favorite is the milk chocolate cornflake but honestly, they all are delicious and so fresh. Say goodbye to Hershey bars!

Came by for some chocolates the other day and it was a fantastic experience! Laderach is a Swiss chocolatier and I saw them on my way to Neuhaus at Grand Central! The store was huge and they had plenty of staff on hand passing out samples. I got the sense that business was rather mediocre as the vast majority of the chocolate boxes were expiring within 30 days... I finally found some dark chocoalte truffles that had at least a few months prior to expiration! Staff wore gloves when handling chocolate too!

This store was fun to browse. I did buy a piece of their most popular chocolate. I can't spell.it but if you have been to this store, you know what it is. If you have not, it is a high quality milk chocolate with....some almonds in it. This is some of the best chocolate on the planet I love it. I also got a package of their colorful sticks and those were not too good. They tasted pretty artificial. This store did not have the friendliest employees nor did they offer any assistance. The store was not too busy at the time. Their chocolate Statue of Liberty was impressive. They have lots of gift ideas here for the chocolate lover in your life.

    The Dubai chocolate flavor! Delicious

Visiting Läderach as a chocolate fiend is quite the experience! You are greeted with a generous chocolate sample upon walking in (hazelnut milk chocolate during my last visits). The available chocolate barks all have enticing flavors - most of which you can sample, except for the Dubai chocolate! My favorites were the matcha dark/white combo, raspberry blackberry, and of course the Dubai chocolate. Everything else I sampled was also delicious. They sell bark variety bags in different sizes and these make wonderful gifts for chocolate lovers! Plus bars and truffles. Worth a visit if you love chocolate and are looking for a splurge!

Wonderful chocolate! Rich, decadent, delightful. The service is great as well! I have a nut allergy and the staff were all so kind and patient with checking the ingredients of the chocolate truffles I was interested in to ensure that they were safe for me. As for the actual chocolate, I loved all the flavors I tried. I also tried their coconut mousse which was interesting. The filling was more similar to marshmallow rather than a mousse. I liked the baileys truffle, but didn't get a super strong baileys flavor. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed all of the chocolate and will definitely be returning.

The Neapolitan White Chocolate (NWC) variety is part of their limited time spring collection and was first introduced in 2020 (to the best of my knowledge). I'm going to begin with a brief tangent for those of you unfamiliar with Neapolitan Ice Cream. Supposedly it has its origins in the cuisine of the Italian city Naples and the Neapolitan immigrants who brought spumoni to the U.S. Spumoni is an Italian dessert that uses three different flavored (vanilla, cherry, and pistachio) layers of ice cream that resemble the Italian flag. Americans would put their own spin on it by replacing the cherry with strawberry and the pistachio with chocolate. Moving back to the NWC truffles, the outer shell is comprised of a smooth and creamy white chocolate infused with strawberry, while the equally smooth core is a melty milk chocolate and white chocolate truffle. Although Neapolitan is not a favorite ice cream of mine (fruity ice cream is not my thing), Lindt absolutely nails it with all three flavors clearly coming through. Like all the other truffles I've tried from Lindt, the texture is phenomenal. I was a bit skeptical going into this one and only picked these up out of curiosity when I spotted them on clearance. If they could win me over, then you have to give these a try if you're a fan of the ice cream flavor. Doughboy approved Doughboy_Food_Reviews My Favorite Lindt Truffles: 1. Birthday Cake 2. The great reviews and overall rating along with the fact they had an emphasis on sour beers (my wife's favorite style of beer) made it a no brainer. Also as you have likely seen they are a women-owned operation so another positive. We did mistakingly walk by it at first but quickly found it. It's a beautifully designed space and more unique than your typical brewery space. Also speaking of they have lots of drinks other than beers, including wines, ciders, cocktails, coffee and a couple NA beers. Due to the impending storm they were closing early but my wife and I each got a beer. I got their New England IPA called Sun Up which was citrusy and juicy with a touch of bitterness/hoppy notes. Then my wife got their fruited sour Peach Berry Punch that definitely had a punch of pink guava and peach but the berry was more subtle. Two great beers with plenty of other styles available too. Service was friendly with a smile and took no time to get our beers. Such a positive experience we plan on returning to give their cocktails a try! An absolute must visit for beer lovers who find themselves near Bryant Park! (Also non-beer lovers since they offer so much more too.)

I am a devotee of dark chocolate, and have tried every dark offering it has. Each is superb, even flavor combinations I haven't historically adored (like orange and chocolate - I know it's popular, but it's just not my favorite). That said, my personal favorite is the Anastasia, a hazelnut and dark praline enrobed in dark chocolate. It is exquisite. Service is always excellent. I've ordered in person and over the phone, and have always been so pleased with the staff. The website is helpful when ordering a variety, but if you'd like an entire box of Anastasia, for example, you have to call the Rockefeller Center store and place the order by phone. They ship once a week, and I always have my box fairly quickly. Boxes make terrific gifts ... including for yourself. If you're walking in, I recommend sitting down to enjoy a few pieces of chocolate, then taking the rest in a box with you. There is a cozy but comfortable seating area in the back just for this. This area is also an ideal place to enjoy some of their drinking chocolate. Highly, highly recommend.
