This is the perfect small-town toy store which is decorated to feel like you are in the old west. There's a variety of different toys to look at for kids of all ages and from various places around the world. I also liked how interactive the whole store was as well. It's so important for kids to be able to touch and play with things and this was a great opportunity for them to do so. Staff were kind and friendly too. I want them to stay open-- and I want them to continue selling and offering all that they do. I had spent almost 2 full hours just walking around and looking at everything. We decided to buy a game that was a spin off from "settlers of Catan". We had spent at least half an hour observing the game and deciding if this is the one we wanted. After carrying it around and putting it back... carrying it around for a little while longer... Putting it back... We finally decided to invest in this game. $40 with tax is not too bad for a game like this. Upon much excitement.... we went home, made our dinner, and started popping open our new game. However we were missing pieces. Not just small pieces but their very big... main pieces. We looked up the one 800 number to call the manufacture. But they insisted we just write them a letter and let them know what the issues were--and with "snail mail" they would get back to us. So we brought the game back to our local Idaho Falls store. When we brought it back, the associate was -- to be honest-- short with us and snappy. The "manager " (or so she said was the manager), was equally as rude. They reluctantly gave us back our money back--with us producing our receipt. About 5-6 days later, the REAL manager contacted me. He was very kind and understanding. I told him how many years I brought my kids into this store to buy books. Our family has been part of this store for over 18 years. He apologized and explained the issues.... and offered us a gift card to return. I never expected that, but was very impressed with his humility and kindness. We all have bad days, and these 2 employees were just having a bad day. We've not only been back many times since, we've also recommended them to 3 of our family and friends. Thank you Barnes & Nobles- I pray you will continue to remain open.....offering something the Internet can't-- amazing face to face service!

If you call the help line they make excuses like this will not happen again, but yet it does. I have decided to shop elsewhere it might cost a little more, but its worth not having all of the frustrations with a dirty store and incompetent delivery drivers. I will say that you can get a free show if you go shopping in the local store. All kinds of interesting things you see the employees doing, wearing and saying. Never a manager around. One store recommended I check out White Bear Creations, and with no luck there, the cashier of White Bear mentioned as we were leaving that there was a bookstore upstairs. I do not believe there is an elevator, so it is likely not handicap accessible. But what a cute space the book store is! It had cute round shelves in the middle of the room, and plenty of shelves on the edges with lots of books. My sister found the entire paperback collection of Harry Potter with sprayed edges, and I found a hardback The Poppy Fields. I wasn't on the hunt for anything in particular, I was just perusing. If you purchased with cash, you got a free sticker, which my sister paid for her books in cash. I paid card for mine as I rarely carry cash. If you're in the Pinedale, WY area, this is definitley a fun little place to check out!
