He offered water and told me how this was a family business that started with his Father. $45 for a smog check on 2013 Toyota Prius. Quick, honest, friendly, accommodating service. BACKGROUND: I just bought a truck is 1990 Ford F-250 with a full 10 foot high camper on top. The previous owner had not gotten a CA smog test and the truck is leaking a bit of oil, but since I only paid $500 for the truck (the rest was for the camper), I was thinking that if it doesn't pass I could perhaps get $1500 from the State of California for retiring the truck. https://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/Consumer/Consumer_Assistance_Program/ Then I went to the CA smog check web site and put in the VIN and found that is had passed the last test in April 2019. https://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/pubwebquery/Vehicle/PubTstQry.aspx SEARCH: I was looking for a location near to Victorville AAA (near Hesperia) because they were processing my DMV paperwork. I looked on YELP. (I don't look at the paid rankings, but go down to the natural results). TEST ONLY ALL STAR was one of the top 3 natural results. I also looked on Google and TEST ONLY ALL STAR has 193 5 star ratings. I called 2 other companies first (because they both opened at 8am and TEST ONLY ALL STAR opened at 9.) One had voice mail and the said they were having internet issues so they couldn't do the test today. EXPERIENCE: I arrived right past 9am on a cold Saturday 11-7-2020. The attendant, (I can't recall his name) was polite and helpful. When he saw that the camper he said, "I'm not sure can do this." But then found a way to accommodate. He said it might take 30 minutes. It took less than 15. The cost was $80, which is more than I had paid in the past for my 20 year hold Honda Civic or my 3 year old Toyota Corolla, but it was worth it. I didn't ask, but this might be due to the age of the truck or because it is listed as a commercial vehicle. BLESSING: At the end he wish me a "blessed" day with an expression of genuine good will. I wished the same back on him. Being curious, I looked up the etymology of the word "bless". It means to "pronounce or make happy, prosperous, or fortunate." So basically it is like expressing of the Volkan greeting, "Live long and prosper." I'm not unaware that "blessed" is also a "code" word... What a great company! Walked in around 11 AM, gave Devon the auto registration, he looked me up on his computer (been going to him for years) and printed out the pre-test paperwork for me to sign. Then, he drove my 2000 Saturn into the bay, ran the visual and electronic tests (it passed!) that automatically transmits the results to the DMV. Finally, he drove the car back to the parking spot, printed out my copy of the test results and my invoice, took my credit card, had me sign the credit card receipt and invoice, and we were done. It took me longer to write this review than it did to go through the entire 10-minute process. This company has a very clean waiting room and testing bay. Devon is very friendly and professional. I've got two more Saturns to take in and I'm more than happy to use Test Only All Star. By the way, Yelp shows his Saturday hours as opening at 8:00 AM. He told me that on Saturday he opens at 9:00 AM. All his business is word-of-mouth and I'm happy to write this review to help get the word out.
