Knowing that this outdoor shopping center was 3 stories and had over 30 stores, I expected the area around it to be like a city center, with heavy foot and car traffic, lots of noise, and business advertisement. Instead, I wasn't sure if we were in the right place, because the neighborhood looked residential. The city planners/architects did a really nice job to implement this intention. The shopping center first opened in 1960, as an open-air courtyard style with a luxury department store, unheard of at the time for a town that small. Throughout the years, it hosted a major department store chain (Saks Fifth Avenue) as well. Now, in keeping with Carmel's intention to not have any national brand retail in it's city limits, the majority of stores/restaurants at this mall are local (though there are exceptions like Tiffany & Co, Anthropologie, and Brunello Cuccinelli). We got lucky and found free street a block from the center. Even on a Monday late morning, it was quite busy with tourists and locals alike hanging out in the main courtyard. A really nice feature was the large outdoor gas firepit that people were using to keep warm. We had come for a particular restaurant, but were informed that they were closed for the day for a private event (no signs or mention on their website)...I guess that's how this particular business rolls.

There are 12 250KW Tesla Superchargers here (1 of them Van accessible) and also 4 Charge Point chargers on 2 shared towers for the other EVs out there. Convenient because you can grab some grub at the Bagel Bakery, Chipotle, Habit Burgers, Five Guys, Panera or the choices around the parking lot, or shop at Target, Ross, CVS, Ulta Beauty, Lucky's, GameStop or other stores around the same parking lot. Chargers price per KW varies depending on time of day, but at 4pm on a Sunday it was $0.35/KW. Like most high traffic supercharging locations, they default to charging up to 80%, but you can change that to 100% if you need to, and if you have a newer Model 3 Tesla with an LFP battery. I preconditioned my Battery about 2 miles while routing here on my navigate screen ( warm up the battery for faster charging) and I got 100 miles added in a Jiffy, almost faster than I could write this review and post photos! Cost? $7.35 total! That would have cost about $18 for 4 gallons of premium at Costco gas with my old Honda Accord V6. Elon's politics may not be cool, but the tech and cars are pretty cool! And this charging station is convenient!

The security team notified my boss of the oversite and Daniel and myself (US based) worked together to get him the supplies needed to ship the medication back in a refrigerated package. Daniel communicated what was going on every step of the way and we were able to salvage this valuable medication. Certainly I would say he went above and beyond in his duties to make this happen.

Did breakfast buffet daily, as we had credit. We also went to the pool, and the kids loved it. Walked around the golf course and saw some deers. There was a wedding so it was kind of loud. Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.

Check-in was easy and prompt. It was quite busy for a Friday check-in but there were 5-6 workers checking people in so it went pretty fast. They were providing water bottles to those who were waiting, and also let people know that there were s'more kits to use at the outside fireplace facing the golf course. You may have to drive to where your room is as there are various buildings in the hotel, so perhaps wait to get your luggage out of your car until after check-in. There looked to be quite a few kids at the property as well as they had some ping pong tables and life size chess available near the main building. The room itself was really spacious and clean. Nothing was really wrong in the room. Perhaps the AC wasn't the best (maybe we were using it wrong), but there is a fan right above the bed which was VERY cool/strong once turned on. WiFi was a bit spotty throughout the stay. TV in the room had Google cast which was nice.

I left the comforts of my beautiful home in Calabasas to see the beautiful beaches and forests of this area. My partner and I have auto immune conditions that our doctor and therapists told us to get away and go to nature to reset our nervous systems. We drove up and arrived around 9pm after several hours on the packed road. I was so excited to stay at this property. Upon arrival I asked if Hyatt members received perks. Instead as my card was charged $700+ I was told we get two free bottled waters and 5 points toward the stay. We were then told to drive to our room carry our bags in. No bellman no assistance nothing. We were sent to the farthest room in the entire establishment, in building Z by the loud freeway on the first floor. The room was awful. We were met with a cracked sink rusty bathroom fixtures hair in the shower and wifi that did not work. The bed sheets and comforter were thin the wood was chipped. I called the front desk and spoke to Priscilla who was very kind and completely understood and was empathetic. She moved us to another room and said security could help us carry bags. By the time new keys and security came it was 10:30pm and we were sick and exhausted. We went to our new room which wasn't much better. There was something on the wall the sink was rusty but the worst part were the kids upstairs making noise all night. Someone called security around 11;30pm/12am I did not get to sleep until 12:30am. Unfortunately we were then woken up by the same kids very early. I called down to front desk again. Taylor was the front desk supervisor at the time and she apologized and asked me what I would like her to do? Did we want coffee? No we want to get out of here and be refunded for this completely stressful and disappointing trip. We could have stayed in Calabasas for this. I truly hope someone from Hyatt makes this right. I would hate to leave a review for my large social media following and never stay in a Hyatt again.

Gabriel came quickly and gave me what I thought was an estimate for fixing one light switch and adding an outlet. Dave come that day and took 1 hour to do the work. I was surprised by the $350 estimate, but did not question it since I inadvertently assumed that I would be charged for actual time and materials. Isn't that the norm for electricians? I guess not now! Ah, the "estimate" was a firm quote to which I inadvertently agreed. Fast , professional service but $350 for 2 outlets in 1 hour? Buyer beware. Ask questions first, not when it is too late. I will find another electrician.
