Came to charge on our long drive on Highway 5. This location was fine on a cool Ish overcast fall day. There really is no shade to protect you from the hot sun. Monday at 1pm, even though it was indigenous people day, there were plenty of open charging stations. It was so nice to have Subway and Starbucks nearby. Patronized both spots and this might be one of my go to super chargers. 250 kWh charging which is nice! read more

What's up: On our way up towards Sacramento, we had to stop here to do a charge before being able to make it to our next stop! Parking: The chargers are located in the back near the Subway. There were plenty of open chargers at night. Environment: The closest stores were the Starbucks and Subway. If you go further out there are more food options as well. In addition to the Superchargers, there are ChargePoint chargers here and it looks like a Rivian Adventure Network is coming soon. The place is well lit but no trashcans nearby. Restrooms can be found in the Subway or the Starbucks. But if you're here later in the evening, they might be closed and you might have to find other options. Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Buttonwillow,CA. This Supercharger is fine, and it is my best charging stop for my cars range. There is a Starbucks and a Subway, which is nice. However be aware that this location has flies on an apocalyptic scale. It's pretty gross. There is a challenge, of sorts, to open the car door and get out (Or in) without any of the flies getting in the vehicle. To add to this mess, the air quality is very poor here. No windshield cleaning here unless you drive to a nearby gas station. read more

This station only had 10 stalls and no shade but it's a few feet away from Starbucks and some restaurants like subway, Popeye's and Taco Bell if you want to walk in the heat. Located on Tracy Ave after taking exit 257 (CA-58) on the 5, the station has 10 stalls in the back of the lot that can charge up to 150kW. It achieved 87kW (350 mi/hr) at the fastest speed with 1 other car charging. Starbucks (with drive thru lane) is located in the plaza so you can stop by for a quick bathroom break and caffeine refuel. Women's restroom has 2 stalls and were clean. read more

Perfect stop on the way back from Vegas. Subway and Starbucks make it a convenient location to kill some time waiting for a charge. As others noted, little to no shade. Probably not the best area at night but no complaints during the day. Spent close to 50 mins doing a single charge and through that time on a Saturday afternoon no more than half the chargers were occupied. Great stop off of the I-5- literally less than a minute to get there. It's right behind the Starbucks/Subway. There are other places to walk to to eat and go to the restroom, but this makes it very convenient. Pretty strong charge with only 1 other car plugged in between 288-306 mi/hr. This is a better option than Bakersfield. If you are going north- go the extra few miles. Trust me. read more

Buttonwillow Supercharger! Buttonwillow has been my go to stop for many years driving an ICE car. My last car could go 400-500 mile range so the stop was more of a pit stop because I would skip the refueling if the lines were long on a holiday weekend. Fast forward to me being a Tesla owner and changing the world. I love the TA stop with Popeyes across the street still so I made it a point to charge up here. I drove from the Fremont Tesla factory down to here and really push the battery percentage lower than I usually go. My car charger in about 35-40 minutes from under 20% to 100%. I know I usually do 90% but I didn't want to make any stops heading to OC and I always plan for 20 plus remaining. There's nothing more annoying then waiting to charge in most OC SC. I made sure I had plenty of juice without the restrictions of AC or speed. Plus I stopped for dinner and Popeyes had a long wait and I moved the max charge higher so I would have time to run back to my car. Crossing the street is a lot like crossing the border. You don't need to run but go quickly. People in trucks and cars won't stop or slow down for you. Just a pro tip. Also, don't get Subway this location is far worse than the average horrible Subway. Lots of food choices here in addition to 10 120 w superchargers. Located just a few feet from Starbucks, you can get a refreshing beverage and also refresh yourself at their facilities. Not a lot besides fast food late at night. This supercharger is well lit and has security cameras. Also signs limiting parking to 30 minutes. Recommend this stop for good availability of services and food. At 4:00am we are the only Tesla here... got a blistering 429 MPH! read more
