This review is for Tesla Service. I've been to a few Tesla service centers in the bay area and this is my best experience thus far. It's a small center but the service staff are really on top of things. I didn't get the name of the person who greeted me but they are very knowledgeable , provided protection for my car seat and steering wheel right away and , they did all of this with a great attitude, which is a big contrast to other service centers that I've been to. I also needed a loaner and they helped me out with one. Shout-out to Sabrina! She's incredibly kind. The repair was done faster than their eta and just all around a great experience! I brought my 2018 Model 3 in for an AC compressor inhibited error. Tesla replaced the compressor for ~$1,200, but the problem was never fixed. I drove off and immediately noticed the exact same issue and identical service alert. When I returned, I was quickly dismissed and told to "run manual mode instead of auto," which was both unhelpful and unacceptable. After leaving a poor service review, Tesla contacted me and brought the car back in. They then recommended an AC recovery/recharge, desiccant replacement, and additional diagnostic charges--another ~$750. This should have been diagnosed correctly the first time rather than stacking guesswork repairs on my bill. A week later, I was told the AC was still failing and that I now needed super manifold work, bottle refill, and a temperature sensor--raising the estimate to over $1,500, bringing my total AC bill to ~$2,500. When I asked why these weren't addressed originally, I was told "there was no way to know" without doing the earlier repairs--essentially admitting the first round of work was unnecessary. I paid out of pocket, took the car home, and 45 minutes later the AC cut out again. No alert this time, but the issue persists. One month later, I still have intermittent AC, the auto mode doesn't work, and toggling AC off and on in manual mode every 10 mines repeatedly is the only way to get any cooling. Even worse, the rear vent blows hot air-- potentially life threatening with my infant sitting in the rear during the summer months. Literally camp and dog mode doesn't not work. I've spent $2,500 and countless hours for no resolution, and Tesla's diagnosis has been inconsistent at best and dismissive at worst. I genuinely enjoy my Tesla, but this service experience has been outrageous and has completely undermined my confidence in purchasing a model X. At this point, I wish I could undo the entire process. I left with the same problem I came in with--just $2500 down the drain, a whole bunch of frustration and waste of time. read more

However, the management at the Palo Alto Service Center, specifically Jay (the manager), is the absolute worst part of my ownership experience. ​I brought my vehicle in to finally resolve an intermittent liftgate failure (it typically fails to open on cold mornings). After a few unsuccessful attempts by mobile service, I expected a proper diagnosis here. Instead, Jay was focused only on avoiding responsibility and denying service. ​His stated policy was bizarre: he insisted the failure "must happen in front of him" for service to be provided, and stated that even video evidence would not suffice. This creates an impossible standard for diagnosing and fixing intermittent problems. I am not sure how they expect to replicate a cold-start issue unless I leave the vehicle there for days for them to test every morning. This policy is detrimental to customer service and makes fixing complex, intermittent issues impossible. read more

Nothing but fantastic experiences to report from each of my visits to Tesla Palo Alto. Samuel: a stellar Service Advisor. Informative, experienced, professional, communicative, responsive, and kind when kindness is often needed most--as many will find service visits to be a stress-inducing time. Joey: an absolute standout technician. From careful observation, comprehensive evaluation, evidence-based diagnosis, all the way through to effective resolution, his outcomes have been nothing short of masterful. Shout out to J, too, for the team coordination that was not lost on me. Today, I showed up early to my scheduled appointment time, and, upon finding out from J that I was in the customer area to meet specifically with them, both Samuel and Joey cut their own lunch breaks short to find me, just to minimize my wait. Notably, Samuel and Joey have been successful in addressing for me a few longstanding and admittedly challenging issues, in contrast to other Tesla Service locations who have unfortunately come up short. This is not to denigrate other locations. It's merely to draw attention to the outstanding quality of service I've received here on what have apparently been some not-so-easily resolved issues. If I could, I would rate for 0 for this Tesla Palo Alto. Extremely poor service! Damage to my vehicle and refusal to take responsibility. Tesla Palo Alto replaced a coolant heater for $1600. During the repair, new error codes for TPMS, Homelink and tailgate lights appeared, confirmed by Tesla's own error history. Tesla Palo Alto lied and stated these errors were pre-existing, so we took the car home. Later we confirmed the errors started mid-service. Shortly after pick up, the wiper was also not working, which had never happened before. Tesla Palo Alto then charged another $290 diagnostic fee and demanded another $1900 to fix issues caused during their repair. Communication was nearly impossible. Horrible service. What should have been a 2 hour job turned out to 8 hours. They kept extending the hours to 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm to 6:45 pm to 7:45pm. I did not get my car back until 8:30pm. They were closing the waiting area at 8:30pm and I had to stand outside the service department to get my car. $2000 for a head light is high way robbery. I would not recommend this location for their incompetence. read more

This showroom and service center is the best! Johnson is one of their leads and he knows all things Tesla. He is also incredibly kind, easy going, and is focused on helping. This is so refreshing from a car sales point of view. There's simply no other comparison and I'm not surprised Tesla is doing so well with people like him working for the company. PS. Came for my first service to fix one door alignment from pickup and Raul is just superb. His colleague George is also great. These guys work super hard and I've never seen them sitting down for even one moment. That's dedication. I had the latest FSD installed on my Model 3 by Palo Alto Tesla. There were no instructions eg you have to drive 20-25 miles to calibrate the cameras. The software installed was not the latest. Right now FSD does not work. For such an expensive upgrade, service is terrible! read more

Took my car in for an alignment at this location and had an awesome experience. Raul helped me out -- he was thoughtful, insightful, and made the whole process super smooth. They found some additional repairs and kept my car, but Raul made it as stress-free as possible. The team did a great job and I truly felt in good hands. Currently on the market to buy a new car and our experience here in Tesla has been good! You set up an appointment, let the service agents know what car you're interested in purchasing and it's pretty straight forward. On the day of your appointment, they'll take a copy of your drivers license and you'll get about 20 minutes to test drive the car you want. You'll be debriefed on the functions of driving a Tesla and you're you'll get some time to drive around the area. If requested, they'll give you a honest, upfront information on the car (regarding credit score, roughly around how much you would pay monthly AND even give you information on which store has the best price). We haven't decided on what car to purchase but coming here has been helpful in our decision process. read more

What a great experience shopping for a car!! Jhonson and his teammates were kind, informed, and patient with me as I explored the model Y. I have gone to many Tesla service centers for a variety of Teslas that I've driven from Model 3 to Y etc. This is by far the most communicative, efficient and kindest service center that I've ever been to. They are always doing their best to accommodate you even when they are overwhelmed. I moved to SF and I still drive down to Palo Alto just because the people here are so competent and friendly. Special thanks to Ashley who is incredibly knowledgeable since she has been at Tesla for 6 years. She goes above and beyond to help all her customers! She even gave me a spam musubi from her personal lunch just because I commented on it looking delicious. Josh also has been an excellent serviceman. Eventually the service center will just tell you it's 'with in spec'. Now i'm stuck with a car with defects. Not to mention I waited 1 year for my order the following month after taking delivery they start offering $7,500 discounts + 10,000 miles free super charging. I bought my Model X in 2020, but the quality was not up to my expectations. The road noise and wind noise was louder than the car I test drove, and the handling had an issue. Otherwise the car is pleasant to drive. After 4 years of ownership, I thought about replacing it with a new model X so the quality might improve. Johnson knew my concern and he is very friendly and helpful. He found me different configurations of the 2024 model X such as yoke steering wheel, plaid, and long range for a test drive. After all the test drives, he located the car and shared with me all the detailed information of the car such as odometer reading, manufacture date, etc. Johnson was very patient while hearing my concerns and made my test drive as comfortable as possible so that I could make up my mind to buy from Tesla again. My car was towed to Tesla Service at Palo Alto to repair a flat tire. Since it was after hours it was left at the facility overnight. By the time I woke up the next morning the repair had already been completed and my car was ready to be picked up. Tesla service agent Josh was very friendly and professional. He even replaced the missing screws for my rear license plate. Great service! read more

1. They are friendly. No doubt. 2. Brought the car in 3 times in 2018 for the same problem. They worked really diligently with me but still couldn't fix the issue. 3. Took it to another dealer. Done. Which concerns me of their knowledge and ability to fix issues. 4. Replaced windshield. Then found water leak stain 5. At almost $600/share, they Should at least refill coffee pod. Pretty poorly managed. 6. The advisor who's a girl, know the protect Tesla policy really well, even obviously it was Tesla fault when installing the windshield but she was pretty cold about warranty only 6 months, discouraged me from going to Fremont because they won't honor the job done in Palo Alto (aren't you all Tesla?). So more it delayed another two weeks for the repair. The whole experience was cold, insensitive and defensive. The dealer is not warm nor welcoming. Really disappointed even I love the car. However, my experience with one of the other locations was very good. So it's all about the management. read more

My 2023 Tesla Model 3 completely stopped while driving and locking my vehicle from continuing to drive. The sad situation is I was dropping my daughter off to pick up her Toyota Corolla SE 2021 from an oil change while this happened in the sales parking lot of Miller Toyota in Fullerton CA. It was very alarming that a vehicle could show zero signs of an issue and just stop immediately without notice while driving. Good thing I have a Lease but disappointed because I was enjoying the Tesla experience and wanted to purchase an additional Tesla for my wife. Had it towed by Roadside to the Buena Park Tesla service center where I originated my Lease in 2023. Just glad I wasn't on the freeway going 65-75MPH when this happened could have been "a lot" worse for me, my family, and other innocent individuals in SoCal. read more

I love Tesla and we love three Teslas, but the Palo Alto Service Center is absolutely terrible. We had to interface with them over the past years about 5-10 times to fix issues with the Teslas. While they usually resolve the issue, communication is abysmal and they really don't care about the customer experience. They usually will ask you to schedule via the app, which does not work well. They send messages, which are often unclear or even blank. In one recent case they threatened to charge us a penalty fee because we did not react the messages in the app. They could have just picked up the phone, or sent an email. In another case a mobile service had no idea what was in the messages and said he wouldn't do what we needed. We together called the service center, and when the center agreed with us he shouted a profanity, walked to his car and drove away. I love Tesla cars, but whoever runs this place needs to be replaced. read more

Poor communication, delays. I set an appointment for a charging issue. As the day came, and without warning Tesla changed the appointment day by a week. No biggie as it wasn't urgent. Finally got it in. Driveway was gridlocked and it took 20 minutes to get pulled in. I had asked Tesla how long it would take for the repairs so I could make plans for alternative transportation, no response. I had an update on the estimate which doubled the cost but I approved it. Near the end of Day 1, I ask for an update and they say they haven't pulled it into the shop. Day 2 afternoon, i ask for an update and they say it's in diagnosis. Late in the day I ask for an update and they tell me it's in diagnosis. Day 3 morning I ask for an update. They tell me it's in the queue. I call the dealer and they say it's next up. Later I get a text that the tech will reach out. Writing this end of day 3, and still no information on what's wrong or clarity on when it will be done other than the app pushing it back 3 days. Communication sucks. I've had great luck with Tesla mobile repairs in the past, but this experience is frustrating. I can be patient if I know what's happening. My pick up experience wasn't the best. Came to pick up my model y a month ago. I brought in a cashier check because I didn't want to pay via app. When I got there I handed them the check and went to go check out the car. First thing I do is do a quick walk around and found some stains on the car. I go tell them and they insisted I hit the button to accept the car and they would fix it after. I wasn't trying to pick up the car in that condition. Or wait for a couple days for a possible 5 min job. Two spots on the car fairly noticeable. I spoke to manager and after taking back my check and some back and forward. It was either going to be a quick 5 min buff job or possible repaint. I wasn't going to grab the car in that condition. No way can I show my friends the new car I was trying to purchase especially with these stains. Finally manager agreed I was right and offered to see if it could be fix. They called me straight in the morning to pick up the car. I came next day and it was perfect. I wished the sales/manager would have found the error first before hitting me up to show the car. They should have just done a quick check before I came by. Probably could have fixed it before I showed up but didn't so 3 stars for the service. I wouldn't have been so unhappy and now I tell all my passengers about my experience at Tesla when they sit in model y. I tell at least 10 people everyday about my not so wonderful experiences here... Otherwise it's a great car and I love it. Just disliked the customer experience. read more

Horrible service with dishonest people. I brought my car in for a simple service, and the guy assured me it would take 60 minutes. Planning to wait, after 50 minutes, I noticed my car still parked. When I asked another person, he told me it wasn't in the queue and helped kickstart the service. About 30 minutes later, I spoke to the initial person again, and he claimed it would take an additional 30 minutes. Dissatisfied, I questioned why he hadn't placed my car in the queue. He brought in his supervisor, and the lady told me there's no queue in their system, blaming the delay on being busy. This doesn't make any sense - how do they decide the order of service if there's no queue? Moreover, why was the original estimate so far off? I waited for 2 hours instead of the promised 60 minutes. Instead of communicating and offering solutions, they chose to lie. Not impressed, Tesla! read more

I am embarrassed for Tesla and Elon Musk. The service and sales support here is unprofessional to the max. They never follow up with you, they don't listen to feedback, and they aren't able to help you and redirect you to other departments saying that the issues we are experiencing are outside their control. The delivery information I was given was incorrect and caused a huge hassle for me. In the 3 months I've received my car I've taken it to service three times. Each time I wasn't given a loaner car nor was my car charged even though they would deplete the batteries. When I had service questions the service people (In the most recent case, a guy named Mark) were unable to provide coherent answers or listen to my feedback. Prior to delivery, my sales rep stopped answering my calls and they never gave me a new rep. When I went into the store to seek help I wouldn't have a personal POC to get in touch with. The customer service and sales support of Tesla is beyond disappointing and if the car weren't mostly really decent I would warn anyone from buying one. read more

Yelp is being a bit creepy. As I was about to embark writing the review they had a sample text and it was very indicative of my experience. Except for a few minor details. Anyways. As is the thing out there, it's a bad time in California to own a car. Why? Cause apparently California signed something into law that they thought was a good thing, but turns out it gave criminals a slap on the wrist if they committed petty crimes rather than jail time. And then it got to the point where lots of cops don't even bother investigating break ins since it happens so often. I bought my Model 3 fully aware with what happens and expected it for a bit. But you know when you get comfortable, that's when it hits? Yea. My rear drivers door window got smashed and my work bag got taken. It's not so much getting my work bag taken, it's the glass that needs to be cleaned up, the insurance, and the fact that when it rains, your car is exposed. Also the tinting. It looked ridiculous without the tint. I tried to schedule something on the mobile app except it was well... rather unhelpful. You couldn't schedule something for the next billion years, 2 weeks at a shop and at least a week for mobile service if it is replaceable by them and if you did schedule something with mobile service there's no guarantee that they will have the glass. Great idea having the app for service, bad idea if have a pressing issue, you know, like rain. To the point. During the time period I didn't have my window, the weather was looking rather dim, and was scheduled to rain relatively soon, so I said forget it and took my frustrated butt to the service center in Palo Alto. Was it a good idea? Not for my wallet but yes. I got there before they opened, and loads of people for dropped off or drove in to drop off a car and as they opened I walked in to see a iPad for check in. Didn't have an appointment but it graciously allowed me to check in and I looking for a spot to sit. Queue up 20 minutes or so, my name was called and I was approached. I explained my predicament and asked if the glass was available and if I can get it replaced soon, since the thing called rain exists. The service advisor tapped away and had me wait a bit while she confirmed with the senior technician that they could fit me but pick up wouldn't be until the next day. Totally fine with me, I wasn't expecting it but sure. I also told her I was going to pay for it outright since I wanted it done, and insurance wants to run around and have the service center provide pictures and approve the repair which would take even longer. I gave her my key and took a Lyft to the office expecting I was going to have to bus to and from the office but two or so hours later I get a text that my car is done. I dropped everything I was doing, and told my coworker my car is ready, be back soon and off I went. I arrived, checked in on the same iPad and someone else came up and we finished up the paperwork along with payment and she pulled up my car. I also asked if they had NEMA 14-50 adapters so I could purchase one and they did! The complimented how nice smelling my car was... a bit weird but I guess? I have an orange squash air freshener and just got it detailed to get all the glass sucked out so it was a mixture of both but sure. Long story short. I am super happy with this service center, being able to bring in my car, and squeeze me in to throw in a piece of glass without an appointment is hard to come by. Long story short: The tech scoffed at me when I told him the sound coming off the car (2 day old Model Y/delivery issue) is impacting my hearing disability. Very dismissive, claims that he can't hear the issue outside when there is loud construction going on. Told him the pitch of noise is triggering my tinnitus to flare up, and he essentially scoffed at me. There is a ring at rotor and groove was getting deeper (Visually observable), but told me to see if noise goes away in a week.... and they are unwilling to check. I'm more insulted that my tinnitus being flared up and causing me to have issues was a joke to them. When tech got off the car, I also heard him making fun of the situation with his coworker. Went to service center in Santa Clara, and they fixed the issue within a day. read more

Ordered my car here. That's the only smooth process. Noticed some cosmetic issues when I picked up at another service center, then came back for work order to fix the issues. They sent my car to their EPA contractor, who caused more problems, paint damage/dents. The panel that the contractor repainted did not match the other panels. But was told no big difference. Had to argue with them, and they sent mobile services to fix the paint damage and dents (don't trust their contractor at all after this), and had to live with the mismatched color. Bought the Tesla to save time on car service, but ends up spending a lot more time to deal with it the first 2 months. Not a good experience. Tesla's build quality is bad or not consistent, or no QA at all. The Service center staffs were overwhelmed. read more

When I showed up at this dealership to test drive, the salesperson who showed up at the front door asked me if I could show the proof of funds before entering to the show room. I asked him that's not my experience with another Tesla dealership in San Jose's Santana Row. He said that's the policy of this Palo Alto dealership. He then asked me to leave. It's very rude. Don't go there, go to other Tesla locations. The one in Santana Row in San Jose brought the car over for you to test drive. read more

So sad to report that the service here has tanked. What happened?!? - Last year, it took me a month to get an appointment for my annual. I called. No one picked up. I emailed multiple times. Nothing. I even tried using my app. Nope! Finally, I used an old email and got an appointment after multiple pings to see if I was confirmed. - When I went for my service, the wait was epic. As I was waiting, I heard other customers talk about how difficult it was to get ahold of someone. I guess Tesla changed their phone system? - My car was "done" pretty quickly, but the ore-existing issues weren't fixed and it came back with a new problem: the driver side door handle makes a loud squeak every time it unlocks. - My husband picked up my car and he was literally given my keys and that's it. No review or invoice. In fact, they didn't seem to want my money! - I tried calling to follow up, please see the first point. I also called the main service to at least get an invoice. She said they implemented a new system and she would try to send me one. I got nothing. - Finally, I received an email stating that I owe them for annual fee. This time, there was a number with an extension. This number magically worked. I guess Tesla did want my money. - When I brought up the fact that my door handle was screwed up, they said too much time (a month) had passed and refused to fix it. At this point, I give up. The staff at this service center are exceptional. I have visited twice now, once for an issue with the trunk, which was resolved satisfactorily, and once for another issue with the liftgate, which was properly fixed but caused a different issue, which was not the fault of this center, but rather their affiliated repair shop. Despite this, I have been extremely pleased with each visit, as the staff are friendly, accommodating, and fair. Overall, I am pleased with my decision to switch from the Fremont service center, which was not as impressive. read more

I came in to Tesla Palo Alto to have a PLETHORA of concerns investigated and resolved on my 3.5 year old Tesla Model X. Upon arriving to my scheduled service visit, I was pleasantly greeted by a very nice gentleman named Frankie. I was sure Frankie would think I am a nutcase by the time we finished going over my laundry list of issues and concerns for my Model X. Frankie proved me dead wrong. Frankie was kind, caring, and and understanding of my issues. I can, admittedly, be knit picky about my cars and this did not seem to bother Frankie whatsoever. Frankie was calm, patient, and took the time to go over each and every concern, some of which we crossed off the list right there in the service driveway. The remaining list of issues were taken seriously, which was a stark difference from prior experiences at both Tesla Palo Alto other Tesla Service Centers. Upon picking my car up, the vast majority of major issues listed were resolved and I had a very pleasant and cheerful service experience overall. Frankie went to bat for me with management when management was being (in my opinion) unreasonable. I could not be more pleased. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK, FRANKIE! The Tesla service centre is absolutely horrible. My Tesla got rodent damages when I took it to their Sunnyvale centre; they couldn't fix the car and pointed me to their body shop. Everyone should know that that wasn't a body shop's job. Then I got bounced to the Palo Alto service centre. They had no parts and kept pushing my service day. They randomly changed the service day without consulting you. Tesla is a company that didn't standby their product. I will not do business with them ever again. read more

Tesla service sucks. If I knew it was this bad I would not have bought the car. Tesla delivered the car to the wrong house - no apology. The car came without fobs - they blamed me and took a week to get fobs to me. The door handles stopped working; I scheduled a service appointment - took a week - waited 5 hours and they didn't show and then sent me a message saying repair was completed. I felt compelled to write this review after the thoughtful warranty service I received from Jose, and by extension, the service team at Tesla Palo Alto. The headrests on my M3 bubbled after the heat wave we had in mid September. I've owned a Lexus and BMW before and have never seen an issue like that. In addition, I had concerns about the equal disbursement of windshield washer fluid and trunk closure. Jose took the time to listen without interrupting me, physically evaluated all the areas I had concerns with, and problem solved each one thoroughly with me. Jose noticed that were a little bit of sunscreen on the headrests, and offered his perspective that the synthetic leather is more sensitive to certain chemicals than the real leather used in my Lexus/BMW - the sun and heat wave combined with the leftover sunscreen residue might have been the perfect storm. While I do wish Tesla tested their materials better to reflect everyday driving (and sunscreen!), this is not Jose's fault, but he went above and beyond by listening attentively and replacing it for me under warranty. He suggested I look for synthetic leather cleaners that could be safer for the materials. I will be much more careful in the future knowing this. Thank Jose.
