This is small in comparison to a Tesco Extra, but for a regular, run-of-the-mill Tesco it's a really good size and has a decent range of both food and non-food products.
As mentioned previously, this store came out of the Ark. The 'TESCO' logo on the outside is in the old fashioned 'courier' type font, and things inside are equally retro. It reminds me of the Tesco I used to go to with my parents every weekend, in the 80's.
Bizarrely, they have a large, modern hall off to the side which is the Tesco Direct collection/order point. This really surprised me, as far larger and more modern branches are nowhere near as well equipped in this department. There was also a small area with reduced stock in there, with good prices, so it's worth popping along even if you don't have any orders to deal with!
I got landed with a rather unhelpful member of staff at customer services with a return, which disappointed me a bit as I'd hoped that the benefit of the ancient decor would be some good old-fashioned service, but it wasn't to be.
Good store though, and a shame that it's getting ripped down and replaced imminently. read more
