Visited Handsworth Sheffield, the lady on the self check outs was so rude, & spoiled my day. 3 times she said " I haven't got time to show you. Go to groceries, which I couldn't see. I felt embarrassed & patronised. I then told a Manager, & the the reply was, " she can be a bit abrupt sometimes" no apology. All none food stuffs can be found upstairs on the mezzanine floor, which means you get to play on the travelator. The pizza counter is well worth paying a visit to as you can get freshly made pizzas reasonably cheaply. Also, listen out for the compère at the front of the store. They're usually hilarious as they try their best to flog you bags of carrots and the like for a whole 2p less than usual.

A small Sainsbury's store, located inside Frenchgate in Doncaster town centre, I was disappointed…read morewith this store overall as not only was I unable to get the products I was looking for but due to being located inside the shopping centre, the opening hours are heavily reduced, for example, they close at 7 pm during the week, I, therefore, think moving the store to a larger unit elsewhere in Doncaster town centre would be a much better idea going forward. The staff in the store seemed friendly and polite, especially because they seemed to be dealing with many customers looking for products which were "out of stock", I noticed one staff member be asked from three different customers and have to turn them away, which was a shame. They do have Smartshop which is helpful, as it allows you to scan your shopping as you walk around the store, using a mobile device, bagging the items as you go. 2* - The store was clean and the staff are friendly, but due to limited stock and opening hours, it wouldn't be a store I would return to. I much prefer Marks and Spencer nearby.

The instore layout is a bit cramped and the decor is very old fashioned - 1980s would be my guess. There isn't (unless I've missed it) direct access to the car park so you've got a bit of a trek with your bags of groceries back to the car. It is, however, really handy for the bus and train stations if you're using public transport. I suspect that this store will undergo some sort of refurb soon, as I just don't see how it can pay the way it is at the moment. I am a big fan of Sainsbury's but this one - while it serves a purpose - just isn't up to scratch I'm afraid.

There are clothes but no changing rooms, for example! And the car park is always very full, for no apparent reason. Oon the other hand, the staff are always cheerful and friendly, and more often than not they are also in fancy dress for one reason or another. I'm rarely surprised by the manager in a fairy costume or someone in a bath of beans - all normal activities in this Asda! Good enough, but not a place I could spend very long in as it is always so busy.

The staff here seemed really rude and unhelpful for one, including the security who seemed to just stand there when anything happened including an altercation between two customers. The store does feel a little cramped with the tills basically right next to every aisle, it feels like they're trying to cram everything into one space and it just isn't working and makes the store more uncomfortable than convenient. The product range in-store was okay, but the whole process was slow, the self-service check-out machine area, for example, was far too narrow, busy and it wasn't run very well with half of the machines out of order so you'd never know when it was your turn - this whole checkout process for me was the final straw, it was too confusing, poorly designed and time-consuming and nearly made me decide to put my items down and leave the store. The main issues with this branch are how uncomfortable the store is and how the staff don't seem to care about customers safety and security, and even shopping experience with broken down machines and poor, cramped facilities. 1*

Located half way down the moor it's ideal for those who are near by otherwise it's a walk to either tescos or sommerfields. It stocks the main essentials and the most popular ranges; due to its size it can not stock everything. The prices are a little dearer then the larger version of the stores but this happens in all the smaller versions of the supermarkets. The place is often busy around lunchtimes during the week, so expect queues and there never seems to be enough tills opened at these times to accommodate. It has a few deals on but not all the deals that are on in the main larger stores.

The entrance has been improved with a mini-roundabout which has helped the queues no end. Its a standard fayre asda, but on the large side, and the self service checkout make it a lot easier for quick purchases. The store is to the north of the town, out towards Clipstone. The car park can get extremely busy at times, and you may need to drive around to find a space, expecially coming up to christmas

I like the value range - not everything is delicious but with a bit of trial and error it is possible to make some serious savings from your regular brands. The clothes are good too and low prices, as are the DVDs, books, CDs and beauty products. Honestly you could do your full xmas shop here including the gifts and wrap!! I love this branch of Asda in Barnsley and I will keep shopping here.

What has happened to this store recently? We've always loved coming to this Tesco but of late it's…read moredropped it's standards. We visited yesterday and we couldn't get to the cafe with our pushchair because the lifts were both playing up and when we asked cafe staff they said they'd had a fire drill in the morning which had interrupted the lift service but noone had reset them. Why was this overlooked? Multiple staff were seen passing the lifts which were noisly telling customers they weren't working. I felt sorry for the wheelchair users. And then mid-Saturday on a busy afternoon there were many crates blocking aisles causing chaos and queues. I politely waited with our pushchair for 2 staff members to get by with their crates and they gave no thank you at all. The staff are becoming so rude (excluding cafe staff, they are lovely and caring). A couple of years ago you would always see a slim build younger male manager on the shop floor overseeing everything regularly checking on staff and he had a good presence in the store. We go a lot and I have no clue who the manager's are now, their presence is not felt on the shop floor. And whoever is managing F&F has made a silly decision to squash baby boys clothing at the back, multiple items to a rail like TKmax. I used to like being tempted walking up the aisle by nicely set out items on the aisle for my son and nephew but not now. I order most things from Next now. It's a jumble sale in there. Bad decision for profit when babies are big selling points for sales. Let's hope this store gets it back together soon.

This supermarket is extremely convenient to Alfreton folk and the surrounding villagers because…read morethere isn't another supermarket for about 5 miles! This tesco is average supermarket size and has all the features of an average supermarket yet even includes a pharmacy. There is a cafe upstairs which serves quite expensive, ok food. This looks over the whole shop. The staff in Alfreton Tesco are generally friendly and help quite well. The prices are standard tesco, cheap and great! On tues, weds, thurs, fri, sat this store is open 24hrs! Although it is very convenient, this store seems to be doing better than smaller shops and businesses in the area and so they have started closing down. It can be very busy most of the time and can be very hard to navigate around.
