They have nearly everything there and their cooked chickens are very nice and available in different 'forms' such as wings, legs, whole chicken and in different flavors. The fish they have is mostly fresh and the price is average. The offer of meat is also very broad and they have nearly every part of pork, beef, chicken, lamp, or turkey. They offer additionally a wide range of fresh vegetables for a fair price.

In retrospect I liked that there were not as many options. I often think on average we have too many options in stores which can be confusing. I went in, had a choice of three, picked what I needed and out I went. The store was clean, however had only one cashier with a large que waiting. Luckily they eventually opened up another line to thin out the que.

The choice of food is very limited but it has all the basics, such as bread, ready meals, chocolates, milk and there is also a small frozen section. The staff always appear miserable, probably because they are bored with so few customesrs. You can collect nectar points in this shop but to be honest there are alot of cheaper supermarkets in Buxton which are alot better value.

Meaning to pay for parking, go for coffee then go back to shop, I wanted to be quick. However, the till operator who was only talking to another member of staff, made me go back up the first aisle then down the second to pay for item. There was no one in the shop (not a big surprise) so I was not queue jumping - she said she couldn't serve me from that side of the till and would not let me go two foot through the till to be on 'the other side'. As I was leaving, she said 'see you later', to which I replied 'no, never again!' With staff like her, I am not surprised the place was empty - there was just no need for an attitude like this!

I wasn't too pleased with this Waitrose location as a whole, I do think being located within the shopping centre is most certainly holding it back, which means the store is less favourable to visit compared to the standalone Waitrose supermarkets, or even the ones inside the Westfield malls in London. I do think they could do with a bit of a revamp to make the store look a bit nicer, as it just feels so basic and doesn't align with my vision of the Waitrose brand. The store is open until 7 pm, which although I feel is far too early for a supermarket to be open. (Morrisons and Aldi nearby are open until 10 pm), this is later than the shopping centre's closing time of 5:30 pm. After the mall closes, there is only one entrance to get into the shopping centre, and the centre is partially blocked off, which can make access to the store restricted, and you have to walk the long way around. I was unable to find the item I specifically came into the store for, the selection was OK at best, but the free-from selection especially was quite poor, and half the size I'm used to finding with Waitrose. It was easy enough to get through the store, and it was mostly clean. 2*
