Morrisons also do a lot of good offers such as buy one get one free (they have a very good one with Pringles at the moment). These offers often compensate for the fact that generally, they aren't the cheapest of the supermarkets. The only down sides are that at the busiest times it can sometimes be a struggle to find a parking space and the layout of the isles could do with improving as they can be quite narrow in places.

This continental giant offers low cost, home brand, food and drinks, and always has an interesting selection of discount goods. I especially like it when they have offers on cycling equipment by Cranes, and bathmats and oversized paint brushes. Actually I mostly come here to get the frikadellens on the right hand side at the back of the fridge section. Tastes like Swedish meatballs, but in a burger shape! Parking is free for 2 hours, so come here, and then venture into the town centre too.

the crewe asda is right smack bang in the centre of town which is great as you can park and do your…read moreweekly shop but then also have a mooch into town. the shop itself is pretty huge and has all their full ranges. they have also in the last couple of years taken over the property opposite their side entrance which used to be bon marche and turned it into a george asda store where they have the clothing range, opticians, photo desk and dvds and music centre. there is a cafe on site too which has recently been completely refurbed and is really really cheap as far as cafes go in crewe and is really good value if you want to stop for a brew or breakfast after your shopping. the staff in store are really great. i shop myself here early every weekend before it gets busy and you can get round the shop in no time, the shelves are all fully stacked, the bakery products are all still warm and really fresh and there are plenty of people on the tills waiting for customers so you can take your pick!! i havent ever had a bad experience with any of the staff here - they are all really friendly and chatty and help you pack your bags and so on. there are only 2 things that let this asda down which is why i felt i had to mark it down by 1 star, firstly it is if you go at peak time unfortunately the clientele isnt too hot! you get a lot of rude customers battling their way down the aisles barging your trolley off course (and this doesnt take much knowing supermarket trolleys!!!) and the shelves aren't always full - you might have to ask a member of staff if you are looking for something in particular as they really cant keep stacking the shelves quick enough when it is so busy. secondly it is the car parking. being in the centre of town ofcourse the carpark is rammed from 9am through till about 4pm most days but in particular on fridays and saturdays. and the carpark really isnt that big. also it isnt owned by asda themselves. it is a council owned carpark and they keep putting the prices up every few months. the carpark is on a slant so its a struggle to control your already difficult to control trolley - esp when its full and heavy! the amount of old people i have seen struggling over uneven paving stones and down the slippery slopes that arent gritted in the frosty weather. but i do know that asda will discount about 50p off your shopping if you take an old parking ticket in with you. (they try their best to compensate you for the councils rubbishness!) overall though asda is brilliant. compared to all the others it is without doubt so much better value - for its own product range as well as the branded stuff. unless you are willing to pay 3 or 4 times as much to go to somewhere like waitrose asda is definately the best supermarket in the crewe district.

While the selection of non-groceries and other services/stands were limited compared to other stores, the choice was still satisfactory for a store of its' size. Some kiosks they do have are a little small and could seem to be in the way at peak times, such as the cigarette/lottery counter. The Car Park seems to be run by Cheshire East Council meaning it isn't free, this is one of the few supermarkets I've found outside of a large city centre to not have free parking, as the majority of customers will be attending in a car, I think that is pretty ridiculous as not many people want to be carrying bags of groceries on the bus/train, perhaps adding a promotion where you receive the cost off your shopping if you spend a certain amount is a solution to stop people parking there if they are going into Crewe town centre just down the road. Car Park is also poorly lit and not designed very well if you are attending on foot either, so it's a shame the parking fees aren't actually going to improve the car park. 3* - Decent sized supermarket, nothing too special, I was able to get the items I came in store from but these were three items which are stocked at 99% of ASDA's anyway.

A large Sainsbury's store in the Hazel Grove area of Stockport, I visited here as Sainsbury's have…read morenow closed their location in Stockport town centre, as this is the nearest location from the now-closed location on Warren Street, luckily it isn't too far, only around 10 minutes on the regular running Stagecoach 192 bus, which runs from Merseyway and goes via the town's railway station. A large car-park and being served on a public transport route, with the 192 pulling right outside is an instant positive for this store. The overall store was pretty clean and modern, the layout was pretty good, I was able to find most of the items which I did come into the store for. I did find the selection to be slightly worse than the old location on Warren Street in Stockport town centre, but this was nothing too noticeable and it's good they still have a large store within the nearby area at least. There is an Argos and a Sainsbury's inside, and they do support Sainsbury's Smartshop, but this is common in almost every large Sainsbury's location. 4* - Pretty good supermarket, they do have a petrol station here too which seems to have been a new addition since to when they were last reviewed.

Instead, they've brought a bit of foodie escapsim to the drab northwest! Admittedly its not on the same level as safeway used to be in terms of prices, and even stock levels, but what it is is a place to buy food you can be indulgent with. It is more expensive than a lot of supermarkets, but when the quality is as good as it is, then you probably find they even up quite well with other shops. For example, when you are buying meats, there is no wastage and so you are probably paying in proportion the same amount as you would at other supermarkets. the cafe is lovely, and the staff are increibly helpful.

The staff are very helpful and service is second to none. The supermarket supports local charity and organisations and gives the customer the opportunity to vote for the cause they'd like their local shop to support. The Sandbach Waitrose also has a lovely cafe. The staff are very helpful and if you arrive with a pushchair they'll take your tray to your table for you. The choice of food, drinks and cakes is excellent!
