Extremely poor treatment of young customers. I have been shopping in this store for over 10 years…read morewith family etc, and over the past few years I have noticed most times I'm in the store I am being followed around by the security guard (as described earlier). However one experience has really thrown my family's interpretation of Morrisons off completely, and this experience involved another staff member as well as the security guard. Me and my friends were casually browsing an isle to when I noticed the lady staff member as described earlier was trying to intimidate me and my friends to leave the store with her arms folded alongside a partially aggressive facial expression which she held for more than a minute as we looked in discomfort. I would like to add that no suspicious behaviour was going on between me and my friends during this whole time (for reference we are all sixth form students in further education) who were NOT looking for trouble but instead browsing the store. I asked the lady worker if she was okay in a formal manner to which she began to give extreme attitude to the point where it felt as if she was moaning at us for the sake of it. Her clarification to why she was trying to intimidate us was completely ignored, as she believed she was not doing so....however I am 1000% sure if you checked security footage you would find she was. To no surprise the security guard who I described earlier makes his way over completely unaware of the situation, to which he then immediately sided with the employee under the impression we were causing no good. During the entire interaction I stayed in a professional manner with no poor treatment of staff or bad language used however on the other hand the security and employee continued to stay aggressive and intimidating with their behaviour severly lacking good interpersonal skills and shutting down all allegations that they or (she the worker to begin) was in the wrong. Threats such as calling the police on me and my friends were also made, with no reason to why. And I can confidently say that in an overall summary the way in which they handled the entire situation was childish and unprofessional. I repeat no antisocial behaviour was carried out by me and my friends. Both of my friends stayed quiet the entire time whilst I spoke up about how I thought. A compliant has already been made by my father as he knows for himself that the security are over the top with LOYAL customers, however this complaint has clearly not been taken into account. Do better, whether that's more on the job or off the job training these situations make customers feel uncomfortable and it's time someone spoke out. Now aside from this...Morrisons have some nice and friendly younger employees who have obviously had successful training. with this being said some employees particularly those who are older or have more experience in the store, need newer training etc.

Now at the end of all of this the manager came which was a young girl who had no interest in providing little customer service at least little .. her first question is " where did you get this item?" how the manager doent know what items the shop sells???? is it her first day? so all of this could be avoided as well as maybe a small teminder to this staff members -- they are suppose to help

AVOID Using the Coinstar Machine at This Location…read more I'm sharing this to save others from the same awful experience I had. I recently used the Coinstar machine here and ended up losing £10 to £15 out of the £25 I'd earned in tips from bartending. The machine abruptly stopped working while I was feeding in coins and told me to seek assistance from a store employee. When I went to the service desk/security box, I was met with complete indifference. Not only did the staff act as if it wasn't their problem, they refused to help and told me to "just call Coinstar myself." There was zero effort to resolve the situation or take any accountability, even though the machine is on their premises and it's their customers being affected. One of the staff actually accused me of bending down and hiding what I was putting into the machine, as if I was doing something dodgy. I was simply trying to retrieve a coin that hadn't dropped in properly. I don't want to make assumptions, but I couldn't help but feel that there may have been a racial bias behind how I was treated. I was being honest, respectful, and calm throughout, but they treated me like I was trying to scam the machine when in reality, I was the one who got scammed. What's worse is that there was no sign warning customers that the machine was faulty. If they were aware of the issue, and it seems they were, they could have easily put up a notice to save people the trouble. Instead, they left it running and allowed it to continue scamming people out of money. I sure many people bring in large amounts of coins, potentially hundreds of pounds, expecting a reliable service. But if this happens to you, don't expect any help or even basic courtesy from the staff. I'm a struggling University student and losing that money genuinely affected me. I relied on it to get by, and now it's gone due to a combination of a faulty machine and shocking, careless customer service. Use this machine at your own risk. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I had a jacket potato with cheese and baked beans and OMG I haven't had a jacket potato this good in a while!! It was so soft and tasty inside!! 5 stars just for the jacket potato. At Sainsburys you have an option of registering for a handheld scanner, this allows you to scan all your items while shopping and going through a fast track to make things easier. This is such a great concept, but I haven't used it before. Next time I shall be trying this out. Nectar points are always great to have, so it's good that you can grab points when buying your shopping. This Sainsburys has a clothing area, an electrical and gaming/music area. The variety of food is very good and I found that the fruit and veg is of a higher standard than Tesco and the prices are almost identical. They were giving out free samples of chocolate ... you can't go wrong really, give people free chocolate and they are bound to do more shopping :P They have a large number of tills and they all seemed to move quite fast. I also used the bathroom which was clean :) The people in Sainsburys seemed a lot friendlier than the ones that go to Tesco, so I shall definitely be visiting Sainsburys again. Especially since they sell Monster Munch and the Tesco down the road does not :(

Somehow it still works though, maybe in London we're just used to crowds of people from using the tube and whatnot so you still manage to get in there and get what you need - and they do seem to have almost everything you'd find in a normal Sainsburys Local somehow neatly squashed in there. The bizarre effect it has though is that whenever I go to a different one they always feel so roomy and I feel like I'm in some kind of luxury paradise version with ample room to stroll around without bumping into people!

I like this store. The only other nearby ones have the following problems:…read more * Lots of corner shops and even the big ones are far too snack heavy and lacking real food. * Lots of exotic shops that offer people to taste of home rather than real good food. * Some of the independent stores stopped selling alcohol because of all the hobo battles. A few of them might try to set you up with their daughters. * McDonald's is 24/7 but makes me fat. Has no food drinks only children's sugary drinks. Doesn't stock essential conveniences such as toilet paper. * Eating things from Iceland really hurts my teeth. It's all really cold and hard. * If I eat food from Tesco it makes my bum sore every time. They also hire very sad people who get lonely so they try to stop you from leaving. The Sainburies isn't bad with none of the above problems but as express stores go it is crammed into a really small footprint. The range of food isn't bad considering the small footprint but it's not ideal and isn't going to stock an amazing range of items. The opening times are also not the best for me. Because the store is so crammed it's a bit gloomy and depressing. The checkout area has ultra compact machines that seem often broken and the security seems a bit overbearing because of the confined space as well as the crummy area they're in. I don't know what it's like at busy hours but I can't imagine it's pleasant. If a queue forms it will immediately start to cut into the shopping area creating a kind of shop while you queue dynamic.

They don't have every single little thing you could want and the store is far from pleasing to the eye (cardboard boxes of stock are stacked similar to shelving) but they make up for it by having a pretty wide range of food offerings and free, plentiful parking. This store is bigger than a Tesco Metro but smaller than an average Sainsburys. It has the basic necessities - milk, bread, eggs, cheese, some meat, cereals, fruit, veg, beer, wine, a small freezer section and 2 aisles of random toys, trinkets, household goods, clothes, etc but buyer beware - you won't often find brands you recognize in the big chain grocers. Most things are imported from all over Europe (no fresh bakery or butcher in-store) so items here are usually priced lower and are still very good but if you're a fussy eater or just know what you like, I'd stick to your favorite brands at the pricier markets or don't say I didn't warn you... When it comes to check out, be sure to bring your own bags or things can get hectic. The cashiers seem to have this mentality that the quicker they scan, the quicker they get your money and the quicker they can move onto getting the next customer's money so the store makes more money and that makes for job security... A good theory BUT they won't help you with your bagging so it gives me an anxiety attack if I have more than 10 items as I simply cannot keep up as well as pay and inevitably I feel the death stares from the people behind me as I fumble around... My mother in law usually puts things right back into the cart as they are scanned, pays quickly and then moves forward where she then gets out her bags and packs up everything in pressure-free peace... She is so wise! Similar to other stores, you can purchase their plastic bags for something like 5p a bag but doing this takes even more time/effort and in doing so you will surely be stoned to death by those around you. All in all, a good, no frills budget-friendly shop for the adventurous eater.
