This, I think, is the worst Tesco I've ever shopped at. Unfortunately, it is also the most convenient Tesco - so I do come back from time to time. Each time, however, I am promptly reminded why I avoid the place to begin with.
While it is a big store, that is useless since they are always out of stock. It's as if there is a war on. Sometimes there is no chicken. Other times, no mince. Heaven forbid you shop on a Sunday and try to get bread that is within date. Seriously, you'd think there was a national level of rationing...
The staff is generally rude and/or unhelpful. I find the store to be rather unclean in appearance and the employees untidy and poorly kept.
Then, there's the misleading advertising. Going down the flat ramp, for instance, there is (or was) a sign for Moy Park Chicken Fillets 4 euros. Yet that item would never be in stock. This isn't an outdated advertisement either, as it would move locations - but they simply refuse to restock that brand of fillets. For months, they had a sign up indicating that they close at 10 during the week, but this hasn't been true for awhile, as they close at 7.
Speaking of closing time, this Tesco will start warning you it is closing time at 10 to the hour. They do so through a barely audible announcement over the loudspeaker and sometimes they dim the lights. Besides being a real poor and tacky practice, they will start closing registers at this time. So now, you are stuck in longer queues while they berate you over the announcement system for remaining in the store.
Finally, the best advice I can give you if you choose to shop here is to mind your receipt at the end of your purchases. I've had numerous situations where I overpaid, this happens about 1 out of every three times I shop there. They simply do not update their prices. Tesco does have the friendly policy that if the price is wrong, you get the item for free - but there are conditions. 1) you have to have actually paid, so if you were good and spotted it while checking out, that wouldn't count. 2) it only applies to smaller priced items, so your DVD Player or Camera will not count, and 3) you have to go to the customer service desk to make the claim. read more
