Well, I was looking for a page to complain. Not sure if this is the right one, but I would like to acctually get someone from MANAGERS in ALDI shop network to read what I want to say. Regardless that the shop is great in many ways, the service by shop assistants leaves me to desire way more. It doesnt look to me that any of the shop assistants are trained on rudimentary "customer service" skills. I am not happy AT ALL (and I believe many others feel same way) to hear shop assistants chit-chatting among themselves in their own language - that it completely out of line, qualified as "lack of ethics". And I am not Irish... just try to imagine how Irish must feel about it (lucky you, the Aldi Store Assistants in question - they are very nice and tolerant people).
What made me to spend time writing this, was the last time shopping at ALDI in Santry Ave. It was Tuesday, 2nd of October, a bit after 16:00 hrs. A girl came over to open an additional till, and her colleague from next till became very excited and began chatting ... non stop!!! She even turned from her own place to face her friend, giving back to the customer who was packing his things. They spoke some language that I could not identify exactly (but I am sure that is a Slavic one, but not Polish). They were chatting non-stop... while an old lady with huge shopping cart passed, and I came over - a very indifferent "hello" and again HER PERSONAL TALK with her friend came on. All I could understand was "Christmas Party"... I did not get their names, however, I checked their name badges, and it said they were both "assistant managers"... wow!!!! - That is all I can say. If the assistant manager has practically "0" customer service skills, then what a bout the rest?
Honestly, that was outragious. I have been working many years in customer service, and this kind of behavior is only acceptable to work in a store room or similar - NOT WITH CUSTOMERS! read more
