Showed up time, had all the gear, got us over fish right away and we spent a whole morning of catching 3-6 lbs pigs. All we had to bring was drinks and snacks. I had lybacks work on my boat. They recommended a new starter which I had them install. The gear…read moreon the starter blew out after about ten startst and left me stranded in the middle of leech lake at the beginning of my vacation. Eddie refused to accept any responsibility for the problem and the starter he recommended and installed did not provide any warranty for the starter. Eddie refused to do anything about the bill, even though I incurred additional expense to fix my boat. He then turned me over to a collection agency for not paying the bill on parts and service that clearly were not fit for the purpose he chose them for. I would go find a different dealer. One star is too many!!!

The first day we boated 25+ smallmouth. The smallest being just shy of 4lbs. On that day we boated 10 smallmouth that were over 5lbs, with the largest being 5lbs, 15ozs. The second day we targeted walleye and limited out in about 2 1/2 hrs. We also had similar results as of day one, targeting smallmouth the rest of the day. The third day we only fished for 4hrs for smallmouth and boated 15 fish between 2.5lbs and 5lbs. Another excellent day on the water. Ryan is one of the most knowledgeable guides you could hire. Very willing to teach fish habits/trends, history of the lake, use of gear, techniques, and boating. He is a very patient and will go to great lengths to adapt to weather, lake conditions, and his clients wishes to make your day on the water the most successful possible. It's clear that Ryan's expertise and dedication made a huge difference. Thanks Ryan, we will definitely use again.

What a mess. He called tow companies, dealerships, lock smiths, LOTS of people to help either get us a new key or get the car off the ice. No dice, no one would come three miles out onto the lake to help out. I don't blame them, it was super cold and being out on a frozen lake isn't appealing to everyone anyway. Especially during the Polar Vortex. We pretty much felt screwed. THEN, our friend called Brandt's, asking for advice. The woman on the other end of the phone laughed, and then said she was going to send out "Dewey, a friend of the lake." She told us he was going to lower a hook and camera 30 feet down into the lake and fish out the keys. I know what you are thinking..."no way," right? Because that's what we were thinking. And then Dewey, along with his pal Ron, rolled up to the rental in a pick up truck with heavy-duty fishing gear and an underwater camera. Over the next two very tense hours, we FINALLY got the keys and celebrated by passing around a fifth of whiskey. Dewey and Ron will never be forgotten. True story. Thank, Brandt's! Well will only rent from you in the future!
