On the other hand, it was a little rough around the edges. Their website pricing is out of date. They also charge a flat fee for gas surcharge. Online they say they offer a half hour rental for a jet ski, but once I arrived that wasn't an option. Hour minimum - understandable - but would be nice to have the information correct online. I walked by Randy's and couldn't get ahold of him on the phone, couldn't figure out which building to approach with all the signs, so I almost gave up on the boating idea. I would recommend texting him to coordinate - he was very responsive to texts. The jet ski I rented was dirty, and the first one they tried to set me up on wasn't working. Also note they have a vague rule that you have to stay where they can see you. That was a little strange for a boat rental place. Overall it worked for the purpose of getting out on the lake last minute, but is no luxury experience.

I would definitely rent through him again no doubt.

The pads on…read morethe benches and bunks where so thin they where pretty much useless and the generator we rented from them didn't want to stay running in the cold. Owner seems like an old crabby guy who got kinda pissy with me a few times over little misunderstandings. Nothing really negative about the place but I will likely go else where's next time.

We've rented a fish house through this company twice (Jan 2013 and Jan 2014). Cabins are snug but…read morecomfy, no issues and very warm. Our friend dropped his car keys in a fish hole this year. What a mess. He called tow companies, dealerships, lock smiths, LOTS of people to help either get us a new key or get the car off the ice. No dice, no one would come three miles out onto the lake to help out. I don't blame them, it was super cold and being out on a frozen lake isn't appealing to everyone anyway. Especially during the Polar Vortex. We pretty much felt screwed. THEN, our friend called Brandt's, asking for advice. The woman on the other end of the phone laughed, and then said she was going to send out "Dewey, a friend of the lake." She told us he was going to lower a hook and camera 30 feet down into the lake and fish out the keys. I know what you are thinking..."no way," right? Because that's what we were thinking. And then Dewey, along with his pal Ron, rolled up to the rental in a pick up truck with heavy-duty fishing gear and an underwater camera. Over the next two very tense hours, we FINALLY got the keys and celebrated by passing around a fifth of whiskey. Dewey and Ron will never be forgotten. True story. Thank, Brandt's! Well will only rent from you in the future!

$5 parking (not a state park so passes do not apply)…read more Clean and clear water. You can enter from a latter off the dock, jumping from the rocks, or walking in on the few stretches of shore. Water shoes not a must but I wished I had brought mine. I suggest going early. This is a very popular swimming destination so if you want solitude in nature, this may not be the place for you. Dog friendly! No lifeguard on duty-- jump in at your own risk. I'd definitely go again if I was in the area but I wouldn't necessarily drive from the TC exclusively to swim here.

This review is only regarding the cliff jumping you can do at the park into the water- this review…read moreis not meant to discourage others to go to this beautiful park - just to make people aware of the risks. If you plan to cliff jump - please read!!! I have been to this park many times in my life, and jumped off the high cliff into the water at least half a dozen times. Last Memorial Day, I went with my friends to enjoy the park. I went to the highest cliff jumping spot and I jumped off into the water. I immediately knew something was wrong with my spine when I hit the water as I could barely breathe and my back exploded in pain. As the signs state at the park - you jump at your own risk. It was clear they do not have a protocol for when people get injuries. It took about 10 minutes to get a ranger to come over and help, who did end up calling an ambulance, but they did not offer anything else. They didn't clear the area, and people continued to climb up and jump around me. My friends had to kick me across the whole quarry to get to the shore to get to the ambulance. At the hospital they did an x-ray and a vertebrae in my spine had compressed due to the angle I hit the water and fractured. It was about a 5-month recovery with a back brace full time. If you go for the cliff jumping just be aware that there is a risk jumping into the water, and the risk gets greater the higher you go. All this to say - the park is beautiful and it is still a lovely spot for swimming and hiking. Just know the risks before you go cliff jumping into the water.
