The dog days of summer and Tim helped us catch quite a few walleye. Had a great time and brought home supper!

Jon has his own charter, and weve continued to fish with him for over 10 years! Going back again in two weeks! Never a trip that we havent caught MANY! I've been coming to the family cabin on Gull Lake during the summer since I was a little kid, but…read morenow living in California those trips are fewer and farther between. So I wanted to make the most of the couple days I had there and decided to book a guide trip with Walleye Dan. Our guide was Dustin and he picked us up in the morning right at our dock. Within a couple minutes we had lines in the water and a few minutes after that our first few fish. Caught them pretty consistently the whole morning and my only regret is that we didn't have time to spend a few more hours out there. Everything was provided for fishing (rods, bait, etc.), just make sure you bring any water, snacks, and sunscreen you need and a valid fishing license. The booking process was very straightforward. I submitted an email through the website about availability. Shelley got back to me quick and I called her the next day to book. No problem with securing a time on a summer Friday morning. Sounds like they're pretty flexible and will work with your schedule. Couldn't recommend them more if you want to catch some fish!

Rented a sleeper house for 2 nights. Over all the house was clean but nothing to fancy. The pads on…read morethe benches and bunks where so thin they where pretty much useless and the generator we rented from them didn't want to stay running in the cold. Owner seems like an old crabby guy who got kinda pissy with me a few times over little misunderstandings. Nothing really negative about the place but I will likely go else where's next time.

We've rented a fish house through this company twice (Jan 2013 and Jan 2014). Cabins are snug but…read morecomfy, no issues and very warm. Our friend dropped his car keys in a fish hole this year. What a mess. He called tow companies, dealerships, lock smiths, LOTS of people to help either get us a new key or get the car off the ice. No dice, no one would come three miles out onto the lake to help out. I don't blame them, it was super cold and being out on a frozen lake isn't appealing to everyone anyway. Especially during the Polar Vortex. We pretty much felt screwed. THEN, our friend called Brandt's, asking for advice. The woman on the other end of the phone laughed, and then said she was going to send out "Dewey, a friend of the lake." She told us he was going to lower a hook and camera 30 feet down into the lake and fish out the keys. I know what you are thinking..."no way," right? Because that's what we were thinking. And then Dewey, along with his pal Ron, rolled up to the rental in a pick up truck with heavy-duty fishing gear and an underwater camera. Over the next two very tense hours, we FINALLY got the keys and celebrated by passing around a fifth of whiskey. Dewey and Ron will never be forgotten. True story. Thank, Brandt's! Well will only rent from you in the future!
