I recently stopped back into Terroir with some friends for a post-dinner glass of wine. We were able to grab two high-top tables near the bar and pushed them closer together to accommodate our group of four. The bar definitely took wine seriously, but not at all in a stuffy way, but in a fun, playful manner. The menu was presented in a plastic binder full of 100+ wines by the glass, bottles of all varietals, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and more. There were all sorts of playful jokes and gaming-related imagery throughout the wine book. The televisions over the bar were showing Julia Child's cooking program, and the background soundtrack was courtesy of the female alt-rock band, Twen. Our server and drink expert, Joel, was delight! His wine knowledge was beyond impressive, and we were thrilled to have him take us through a flight of five Rieslings from their "Summer of Riesling" options. Of the enjoyable handful of glasses we tried, the 2023 Donnhoff Riesling Kabinett from Nahe, Germany was our favorite, since it was complex, unique, and sweet. In addition to our beverages, we ordered two slices of the homemade Black Forest Cake, which was one of the best cakes I had ever had! It was composed of moist layers of dark chocolate cake, bold cherries, and sweet cream, as well as a top layer of creamy milk chocolate frosting. It was complete heaven, so I was thrilled that the pieces had been so largely sliced! I will definitely be back and would like to try their happy hour, which is available daily. Plus, the event occurs not once, but twice, a day from 4:00-6:00 pm and again from 10:00 pm until close. What a gem of a place! read more

I loveddd my experience at Terrior! I had read about it in the book Cork Dork, and being a bit of a cork dork myself I had to try it out! My friend and I mostly went to get a bottle of wine and enjoy a sunny Friday, but I was surprised about how good the food was. We ended up getting more fries because they were delicious! Genuinely one of the most insane wine lists I've ever seen, and I believe that is more than enough of a reason to come back. The service was alright, but the slow pace almost matched the laid back vibe of the establishment. It gave you time to just sit back and enjoy your bottle. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants a phenomenal wine at a very reasonable price! read more

I don't usually drink much alcohol, but when it comes to white wine, I prefer Riesling--sweet with less acidity. There are so many Riesling selection that I've never tried. I'm prefer sweet and smooth and I could get my best one ever ! Waiters are super friendly with knowledge about wine, so I could understand taste easily n learn well. All food we ordered was good match with our wine. Warm and cozy Rustic interior is relaxed, however the place was packed but noise level was moderate. There also were some unique wine list and some other spirits that I wanna try next time. 4-6 pm Happy Hour is plus Thank you read more

Loved the vibe here. Good for a date spot or meeting a couple coworkers. They really know their wines. Had a blast here and try a wine from China. That was a Merlot. Usually absolutely hate Merlot's, and it was cool to try a new blend of tastes. read more

Great lively place. Extensive wine menu as you expect. Excellent service levels and knowledgeable about the menu items . Tables are high tops inside and close together but it's all a part of the experience. The reisling season offerings were great. The homemade chips were good. Salty and lime flavor added. The Korean wings were big in size and a 3 out of 5. The heirloom tomato and watermelon salad was refreshing. The deviled eggs were a hit. Overall a great spot in Tribeca w a nice vibe. read more

What a find! The wine list (presented in a binder) is extensive, playful, and makes learning about wine approachable, interesting, and fun. The atmosphere is lively, with great music and an interesting crowd. Bartender and wine expert Joel was especially helpful and truly made the night. 10/10--I'll definitely be back! read more

We came here for their extensive list of natural wines (which is shockingly difficult to find even in the NYC) and Terroir did not disappoint! Their natural wine list is massive & excellent. We also shared antipasti & a salad at the bar. Both were terrific, customizable and plentiful. Our bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and the vibe was excellent. We were surprised that they didn't have more amaros to choose from, but the one that we ordered was excellent. We look forward to frequenting Terroir on our regular visits to NYU. read more

The bar is advertised as walk in only but showed up at 4pm on Saturday and only half the bar was full and every single table was empty but we were told the rest of the bar was for reservations. Apparently if they mismanage their bookings and are over booked, reservations will get moved to the bar. Also if you're lucky enough to reach them on the phone (a difficult feat as we tried calling 10+ times the prior day with no answer) then you can also reserve the bar. Servers were completely apathetic to the above situation. If you market yourself as having a bar for walk ins only, that should actually be the case. And a reservation line that no one answers? Are you Babbo in the early aughts? No thank you read more

I met some friends at Terroir for some drinks, snacks, and to catch up. While I had never been to this specific location before, they used to have a spot in the East Village that I visited around 10 years ago. Since that was a while back, I took this as an opportunity to rediscover the business - so off I went. At its heart, Terroir is a wine bar - additionally, they have some beer selections and a decent-sized food menu. The space is mostly made up of high tops with a couple of booths on the back wall, some outdoor seating, and an open kitchen. The decor is somewhat rustic - lots of wood with metal stools, for some reason I associate a name like Terroir to be stuffy but that wasn't the vibe at all. The drink menu is really large, to the point where it was almost overwhelming - they're giving Cheesecake Factory a run for their money. There are a LOT of wines here - separated by type with a lot of eclectic pop culture references peppered throughout. They seem to focus on a lot on Reisling, their selection is large and a lot of the shirts the team wore referenced it. All the wines recommended to us were great - we stayed in the white wine realm, though I did try a blueberry selection which was quite good. We also ordered a few snacks - popcorn, tinned sardines, and a large soft pretzel. All of these were good - the biggest standout to me was the pretzel which came with this super spicy mustard that blew out my sinuses. Service was good, everyone was friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Terroir - the vibes were on and the selection was awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to return to explore more of their vinos. read more

**One of the Best Wine Bars in New York** Paul Greco is a personality larger than life and he has curated a beautiful list that caters to casual wine lovers and professionals alike. The bar was hopping when we walked in but Paul showed us two spots at the end of the bar. My friend ordered vermouth and I ordered the Manzanilla Sherry off the wine on tap list. I spent about 20 minutes paging through the wine list. The goofy pictures and explanations of complicated wine concepts like the German Pradikat system made me laugh, but Terroir excels at making wine accessible to everyone. read more

Very nice place for drinks and boards to share. It is not French food but, more fusion of several foods from around the world. We ordered a board of cheese and charcuterie to share, the Korean chicken wings, the arancini and the homemade chips. Good portions and good quality. The food was good and quickly served. I ordered also a flight of red wines from Chili. It was really interesting to try something new. The selection of wines is impressive. One of my favorite places that I visited in NY! I can't remember our servers name but he was amazing. Very friendly, Knowledgeable and helped us with some great picks! The place is funky, eccentric and they had soooo many great options. So many wines that you may not find on a regular basis. The small bites we had were also delicious. Beef tartare, deviled eggs and the Korean chicken wings. It was a wonderful experience with my girls and we will definitely be back! read more

Great variety by the glass as well as by the bottle. The staff aims to make you happy with your choice as well as provide recommendations. Reservations help but usually spots open up at the bar. There is a tv across the bar (behind your back if you sit there) as well as a projector in the back area. Outdoor shed is also decent but only great if there's a slight breeze. Pricing is great as it has enough variety on the low end as well as on the high end. read more

Omg amazing!!!!!! I loved how many wines they had. They truly have so many good wines. The menu describes them well. I also love that the bartenders chose the wines for us! You could totally choose yourself if you wanted, but I'm someone who doesn't like making decisions. They chose the best and most creative wines! We even got a raspberry / rose / sparkly wine, which I really liked. The ambiance was good too. I like how it isn't that dark. I want to see people and be able to read! Finally, great service! For those who are over the whole clubbing or clurbbing scene, but want to dress up and welcome the new year with nice ppl, I 100% guarantee this place. For $95, it is open bar wine and they have a large variety of wines. From sweet to dry. For those who know me, know that I do not do beer and kind of sort of graduated from just doing straight up liquor. There was an ice sculpture with the letter T where ppl can drink riesling out of and it was a clean and tasteful way of doing it the first time. Service was great and the quality of the wine was very good! I would recommend going her for NYE. Just make sure you get your tickets in advance like we all did. There are various options which may be more or less the amount that we paid, but I had a great time. Cheers to another year of surviving and thriving! I am holding back a star because I would like to have a dinner experience here and follow up one day. read more

Intimate wine bar, tasty tapas, and a very nice large bathroom. Convenient location, a block from the West side highway. I had trouble finding Terror tonight, it's kind of hidden away behind an outdoor seating area. Terroir is one of those places offering a well designed space to meet and convene. The music tonight was very 1980s pop, would have preferred jazz, but that's just my personal preference. The space is very comfortable and the staff makes it even more so - laid back and friendly. The food is good but pricey, as expected for Tribeca. Go here for the location and ambience. The name is Terroir so obviously wine is the focal point. Recommend for meeting friends, a first date or casual business in-person chat. read more

Came here for a night out for a business dinner outing and i loved it! Our server was very knowledgeable about wine and knew the best one to give me based on my flavor profile. I went with the Badalucco de la Iglesia Garcia - Grillo Verde 16, which was an amber wine that tasted so good! I ended up getting a bottle to go for home. In addition to wine, we tried a bunch of their tapas and charcuterie board items. My personal favorite were the mortadellas and the potatoes, which were both delicious! Absolute gem of a place with the most amazing staff ever! I've lived so close by for well over a year now but never started going until recently, and it's been such a dangerous discovery. Their wine menu is extensive to say the least, and full of life and fun descriptions about a particular wine, region, history, etc; almost a wine bible if you will. My kind of bible. Anywho, I always get overwhelmed when ordering as I'm the type to like/want everything, but this place makes it SO easy since the staff is incredible and so knowledgeable. Every time I've gone, I'm able to just ask for and receive amazing recommendations for whatever I happen to be in the mood for, whether it be a fab glass of Malbec, an orange wine, or a perfectly curated flight of white wines. They have it all, they know it all (in the best way), and you will love it here, trust me. Also love how casual/friendly the environment is. The place is teeming w amazing wines and good energy from open to close on any day of the week, which is probably how often I go. Great spot for a date and larger groups and everything in between as well which is a rarity! read more

Second time visiting this place! Don't know why, but this place never felt so great to me! The wine list (book) seems overwhelming, and the wines suggested were never really great. I came here with a friend because of the great reviews. The ambiance was unexpected. Although a wine bar it looks and feels more like a traditional beer/liquor bar, except the shelves behind the counter are filled with wine bottles. The wine list is contained in a big book that felt a bit overwhelming. Nevertheless, our wines were good. The real reason for the 2-star review is the food. My friend and I both had the gnocchi and it was terribly overcooked and soggy. Not much flavor to it. Perhaps other dishes are better. Or perhaps the real draw here is just the wine. read more

Terroir was able to accept a rest for 5 people on a Friday night at 8:30pm last minute: we were seated outside in additional seating, the type that has taken over post Covid. The heat lamps were working super well which is great since it's late October. The wine list is very long. I'm not sure how much is actual wine, but there is a lot of additional interesting info in there. We ended splitting a bottle of Bordeux between 4 of us for a reasonable price. We ordered a bunch of different items, the pigs in a blanket, the squash lasagna, steak tartare, the sexy carrots, bruschetta. The bruschetta was in a red sauce which I'm not used to. The sexy carrots were phenomenal and you must dip them in the tzatziki they come with. The steak tartare was fun as you get to mix it yourself. A good go to spot in tribeca read more
