Allstate Canam Shipping - Part 3

Allstate Canam Shipping

If a quote is too good to be true, this company cemented that idea. I got baited. When they…read moreactually found a shipper, everything was over the phone and nothing in writing, and most importantly a price that's more than double of the original agreed quote. Asked for a refund of the $100 deposit, they refused originally then proceeded to say that if I pay a cancellation fee of double of the deposit, they would refund. Not sure what kind of a logic that is!

*****PART 1 This…read morecompany is a scam. They are 100% a bait and switch company. And they will waste your time. One of the main reasons, I am posting here on trust pilot is that when you work with this company they will tell you to disregard all other reviews on any other platforms and only trust the reviews here on trust pilot [RED FLAG!!!]. I don't know if the other reviews on here are legit or not, I can't say that, but I am going to give you a very honest and detailed review about my experience with them. Because I don't want this to happen to anyone else and to go through the same stressful situation that I went through when using this scam of a company. Whilst on a road trip, moving from Naples, Florida to Ohio, we got stuck in Tallahassee because our car got damaged in a hailstorm. It was so badly damaged that we had decided to purchase a new car. With that being done, we needed to ship our old car from Tallahassee to Ohio. At the time we we're staying at a local Inn. On May 8th, I went online trying to find a company to ship our car. I used a website that required me to put in my details and the make & model of my car and in return, I would get quotes from several different companies for me to compare and make a decision. Within a few minutes I got several emails from various companies listing their services and the quoted price. One of the emails that was very professionally done was from a company owned by a Mr. Michael [for the purposes of this review, I will not use his last name] A few minutes later I had received a phone call and it was also from a man named Michael inquiring about shipping my car. I had immediately thought that it was the same Michael that I had gotten the email from [ it was my mistake that I had not asked more questions to verify it was the same Michael but I got the call about 2min after the email] I do not realize that this was a completely different Michael. But because I thought it was from the same person and the email looked extremely professional and the quoted price of $750 seemed okay I continued the phone call explaining our situation and how we needed to ship our car. Now, scammer, Michael was really selling me peace of mind. He was giving me full confidence that the car would be picked up by 5pm that day and it will take only 2 days for the car to be delivered. Being in a completely new city, having absolutely no friends or family in the area and staying at a inn, this is really what we needed to hear. Being the first time I was shipping my car, I had no idea how the process worked. My first red flag should have been him asking me what his company had quoted me..I looked at the email [from legit Michael] and told him I was quoted $750. He said that $150 will have to be paid now and the $600 will be paid directly to the driver upon delivery. Again he told me that the car would be picked up between 12pm and 5pm, and he phone back as soon as he has the exact time THEIR driver will be on his way. With his sales pitch done and everything sounding smooth, I went ahead and paid the deposit got their confirmation email, ended our call and waited on the next call. After the call ended I looked at the email and noticed the email did not look as professional as the previous one I had gotten so I phoned them back and asked about the company details and then they said ALLSTATE CANAM SHIPPING. I felt uneasy because I made a final decision with them without doing proper research but I thought that maybe it was fine because they were very efficient with phoning me and selling on their services. I started looking at online reviews for the company and it made me even more nervous. Yes, there were a few positive reviews on trust pilot, but there were a lot of other bad reviews on Yelp and other sites. I also tried to look up their business address and it wasn't a straightforward search. With all this doubt and concern. After reading the reviews, I immediately phone them back for some sort of reassurance of their services. They explained to me that I need to disregard all the other reviews on other sites, except for trust pilot because they were being forced to pay a fee to Yelp. They didn't want to pay this fee to Yelp so Yelp was was apparently removing all the positive reviews and only leaving the negative reviews. This is exactly what I was told and why I needed to ignore the bad reviews on Yelp, which already seemed really shady because I've never heard of Yelp doing something like that. At this point I was extremely stressed out, but I had to do something to keep myself calm. So I said that everything has been going smooth so far with this company. Let me just continue the process and have faith that this will work out. All of this was taking place around between 10am-11am of that morning and we were told that we would get a call between 12-5pm regarding the pick up of our vehicle.

Deceptive and Unreliable Company - Do Not Use…read more Swift Auto Hauling and Freight is an extremely deceptive and unreliable company. I hired them to transport my vehicle across the country while my family and I relocated to the East Coast. I signed a contract for a fixed price and paid a deposit two weeks in advance. On the day of pickup--just four hours before the scheduled time--the assigned driver called and canceled. I immediately contacted Swift Auto Hauling and Freight to figure out what was going on. Over the next several hours, I received nearly 20 phone calls and text messages from various drivers, which was chaotic and unprofessional. Eventually, Swift Auto Hauling and Freight informed me that the price had doubled. At that point, my wife, kids, and dogs were already packed and ready to drive, leaving me with no realistic option but to pay the increased price. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch. Avoid this company at all costs.

Scam / Fraud alert. !!!! They quoted a good price for a car…read moreshipment. 1. Select date identified and confirmed ( scheduled almost a month in advance) 2. They understood we were traveling a long distance to be there for vehicle pick up. 3. Text from original Swift employee that set it up, the morning of the pick up. "Driver will pick car up before 5."And here is the contact # for the local dispatched that will be coordinating." 4. I contact the " Local Dispatcher" he stated the driver will be here between 2-3 pm. 5. He texts me back a couple hrs later" call me urgent about driver" I call and he states driver was delayed and cannot make it until 11 pm. 6. Then it went on to driver can't make it until tomorrow . They knew we were traveling back that day. 7. He stated I will try to get another driver for today. 8. He called back and stated ahh we have a driver , but the price has increased by $700.00 9. I stated That is not the agreed price. 10. several more calls and texts with various reasons and we asked to pick it up in a few days and we would arrange someone to meet at the car because we were traveling across country. 11. Then I get a text stating a driver is on the way for your new " Agreed price" $700 more. I stated no, we did not agree to the price increase. They stated yes you did and we need $ 200 more in deposit as well,. 12 . The calls, texts, emails to try and sort it out went on for about 7 hours. 13. They continued to try to pressure us into a pick up for a price almost double. 14. Texts and phone calls were somewhat threatening. 15. We asked all to Stop and canx. 16 still received voice mail trying to force a driver to us later into the evening. 17. We had to travel back across country and arrange someone to meet at vehicle the next week with a new carrier . 18. Do not use this company. I will be reporting to Gov agency that handles scam/ fraud.
