As a tourist, I would not visit this place. Their staff is incredibly nasty. It was pouring out so I had my children step into their storefront out of the rain for a moment while we caught our bearings. We were there two minutes before the cashier came out and told us we had to move because we were blocking the storefront. We were not blocking the door there only two customers in the store and there was no one outside because it was pouring. There was no reason for her to ask us to move so quickly. After asking us to move into the, she then went in and laughed with the other cashier. This was the afternoon of July 3 and I believe the girl had blonde hair. read more

This place was recommended in Rick Steves Italy guide. Here is what he says "Terre e Domus is one of the few options around the otherwise unwelcoming Piazza Venezia. Immediately below Trajan's Column, it's a modern little place with a cool, peaceful, and well-lit dining room." I have to agree. It was mid day and I was tired after continuous exploration and wanted something quick, but more than just a sandwich or a slice of pizza. The interiors are a bit plain and generic, but I didn't care. The restaurant wasn't too busy and service was efficient. The food was great and it was quiet and allowed me to get my energy back up. We went to this restaurant on recommendation from our tour guide, and it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh made and fabulous. The tiramisu was the best I have had in Rome. The location is perfect to enjoy a relaxing lunch after touring the Coliseum and Roman Forum. Would absolutely come back! read more

We tried this place based on Tripadvisor Reviews and photos. In all honestly, we have had better in Rome. The prices were a bit on the high side and the service was not the best. The waitress was not very social and seemed a bit rude. There wasn't much of a menu choice. The food was ok. The location was ideal and easy to find. We could have spent the same amount else where and had a better experience. Even the house wines were way more expensive than other establishments we had visited. The restaurant from the inside is nice and decorated uniquely. TIPS They do have a restroom. Drinking fountains near Piazza Venezia. read more

The food was decent but not great. The portion sizes were very very small for the high price of the meals- 5 small raviolis for the entire meal. The service was poor without any attention to detail. The staff was not friendly and did not give good service. For example: the moment we walked in the door, we were not greeted, but instead just stared at- and not with a smile. The female server brought bread, olive oil, and Basalmic vinegar to our table- but we had no plates and she did not bring any- so crumbs were all over the table, and we had nowhere to pour the oil and vinegar that it would not get on the table cloth. This place has gone through name changes I think. I was a little hesitant based on the spartan interior, but boy am I glad I checked it out. The decor is pretty modern and minimalist, but if you are facing Trajan's Column, you can't really complain...that's the coveted spot. Now for a wino like me, here's where things get real interesting real fast. The wine list is entirely wines from the Lazio region, whites and reds. I did not recognize a single one, but quickly figured the list out: single local varietals like cesanese, blends of local varietals, and blends of international varietals. All from Lazio. You are unlikely to ever see these wines in the United States, and the very helpful waiter was patient at explaining their characteristics in half-Italian/half-English. The prices are fantastic...and at first I thought I was seeing things. At the end of it all I had fallen seriously in love with the local cesanese wine. The food is likewise all or mostly locally sourced. I had a composed octopus dish with local chickpeas (ceci), and I assume the octopus wasn't sourced from the Tiber (actually the sea is pretty close!). Having become addicted to the local bitter green, puntarelle, i had to have that again, dressed with olive oil, lemon juice and anchovies. Out of the 4 days stay so far, this is the best Italian restaurant I have been to. They serve non-traditional pasta with different varieties while the traditional pasta was quite nice as well (Best carbonara so far). Also had Chicken salad, very fresh vegetable with nicely cooked chicken. Was there when the restaurant was still yet to open and they opened the restaurant early for us. Waitress was nice with lovely smile with good suggestion of food. Price was fair (1.5 euro coffee). Would go again if time allows. I found a hair in my dish here and had it replaced with another dish which I also found another hair in. When I told the manager she made the excuse that the hairs must have "flown in" and that her kitchen was clean, not apologizing or offering to comp the rest of the meal even. Then the bathroom didn't lock properly and I was walked in on by a man. After being disgusted and humiliated I was overcharged for the rest of our meal, but paid it because I couldn't stand being in there one more second. So gross, do not go here. read more
