E-Bar is a small restaurant that also has an outside dining section. It's walking distance from the train station , so we popped here on the way to hotel. The seating is partially on the sidewalk and has a nice canopy covering the space. Looks a little dinky in person actually. Food wise, I started off with their standard salad which was surprisingly delicious. The topping and dressing paired perfectly and made for an unexpected treat. I then had some baked chicken with a side of broccoli. Chicken was good but broccoli was delicious. Steamed and seasoned perfectly. As good as the food was though, the chicken and broccoli came out barely room temperature, which obviously takes away from the meal. Only the quiet location makes it for me justtt shy off 5 stars (although the terrace itself is cute) but other then that: food is good, service is really great and warm, free WiFi, clean toilet (with a slightly unhandy 'accordeon' door) ánd a complimentary Limoncello. This place is off the beaten path, and well worth the visit. The service you will receive is amazing, by far the best we received in our week in Rome. You will get home cooked Italian food and feel part of the culture. The food was great and very pocket book friendly which is a plus and just the cherry on top for the great food and great service you will receive. Based on the reviews, we decided to try the eBar for lunch today. The reviews are spot on as the food was excellent and the service was as well. One quick note, eBar does not except credit cards, so be sure to bring cash. My wife had the scallop of chicken breast with artichoke, I had the cannelloni with beef and pork stuffing. They were priced 12 and 9 euros respectively. Both were very freshly made and perfectly prepared. For dessert, we had tiramisu and chocolate cake. The chocolate cake is made by the son of the owner's wife, and features a yellow cake covered with marscapone and Nutella frosting. The tiramisu was made by the owners wife and is served a bit like a pudding. I can't say enough about how friendly and accommodating the family is. I strongly suggest a visit if you get a chance! read more

How small and normal a place can look from the outside. But once inside you feel immediately a warm and welcoming vibe from the owners. Wherever you're from you'll be treated equally as friendly. The cheese plate we ordered was just great. Lots of different beautiful cheeses going along with exquisite bruchetta's. The pasta was homemade and really tasty. Chose this place for dinner after reading a few other positive Yelp reviews. Turned out to be an excellent decision. Quite unassuming from the outside but the service is brilliant and the food equally as good. I had the lasagne while my girlfriend had the pesto pasta. Both of us throughly enjoyed. My first meal on Rome! It was a bit confusing because ebar is a restaurant found in many Nordstrom's in the states but I don't really think it's the same, even though the logo was the same. Anyway, I digress. Family owned, this shop has excellent service and seating inside and outside. There's a variety of things to order and I got the broccoli orechetti! I had never seen something like that before so I thought why not? It was really delicious and a fun experience for sure. I also got a white wine to pair. Perfect for my first meal. The portions were generous and I remember wishing I could take my last few bites to go. They also give you a little cup of limonchello at the end... Which I still don't know if you're supposed to sip or shoot it. The guy next to me shot it so I did too haha! This place is small so I wouldn't recommend big groups but a large party came as I was finishing and they took the time to accommodate them to the best of their ability. We very much enjoyed this small, slight off-the-beaten-path restaurant. It is family-run, with all meals cooked using local-sourced ingredients. There isn't a huge selection of menu items - but that didn't matter as everything we ordered was delicious! Prices were very reasonable. A fun little local place with great food and prices. The owners cook and serve the food which makes the place even better. The owner cares about the customers, offers suggestions based on taste and is willing to make you any dish you want. We were so happy with this little find. My 10-year-old daughter and I had a night out here and had a wonderful time! It's on a pretty quiet street which is really nice and intimate. The food was great, the service was better. I ordered lasagna for me and spaghetti with tomato sauce for my daughter. I failed to mention that my daughter had a milk allergy so her food came with cheese on it. I told them I would be happy to pay for the second dish however they were insistent that it was fine. We ate up all of our food and then I was given complimentary limoncello at the end. YUM! My lasagna was seriously some of the best I've had on this trip too. To take the service up a notch, the next evening, I noticed I was missing my scarf. Since eBar was so close to my hotel, I walked over to see if I left it there and they had it folded up on the counter waiting for someone to claim it. I found eBar from Yelp. I arrived in Rome a day before my group of friends and wanted to take the opportunity to choose a restaurant that was more local and quiet to relax. I must agree with all the 5-star reviews. The service is excellent. They were very accommodating with my zero Italian language skills. I ordered the tortellini with Ragu and a salad. Everything tasted fantastic and prices were more than reasonable for Rome. They were out of a few dishes which happens when you have homemade, fresh food. But, they were very apologetic and made excellent substitution recommendations. They made me feel comfortable and relaxed dining alone where some restaurants ignore you. The restaurant is definitely more targeted towards locals, but the menus do include English. It's fairly quiet, and the service is exceptional. The quality of the food is amazing. Loved our anniversary dinner here! Wait staff was very friendly, immediately asked if we had questions about the menu when we sat down. And the food was delicious, and good sized portion, not too much, not too little. And glasses of house wine (from Sicily) were just 4 Euro. For water, dinner for two with wine, in and out for less than 30 Euro! What a gem in Rome. It is family run and like anywhere else in Rome the pasta is handmade. But, it's the treatment you get and the homestyle quality you get with eBar. I was eyeing the Ebar for a few days from a side road before stopping. They have a small terrace and a small menu but the place seemed busy at all time. We arrived at 2030 which we though they'd tell us is too late to sit. But at our great surprise they told us to grab any table we wanted our there. We were served my the owners themselves (father and son: Emmanuello) . Both were son kind. They apologized right again and told us they have a busy day and a few items were out but they could tweak meals around to accommodate us if needed... we ordered the smoked salmon on salad and artichoke scalopinis. Everything was so tasty! Emmanuello offered a lemoncello at the end and even a little crash course on how to purchase a good bottle at his preferred store. We had fun conversations with him about our cultures. Service was perfect and the meal was excellent for a bistro. Would recommend to anyone for quick meal! read more
