This restaurant is near the main shopping area. We needed a break from walking for hours, so we decided to stop here. We arrived just before they closed for the dinner service. They could have turned us away, but they didn't. The street is full of people having an amazing time in Rome. The waiter was so nice. He could see we were exhausted. We rolled into Rome late and this was the first restaurant we came across because it was close to our hotel. Everyone was very welcoming and spoke English. I had the red house wine, which was good, and we shared a garden salad (nothing special). My husband ordered lasagna and loved it. I had the pasta with clams, garlic, and butter (amazing!). Everything was so fresh and tasty. We splurged and got the homemade tiramisu, which did not disappoint. It was really light and lovely. Overall, great first impression of Rome! -you'll pay a 2.50 per person service charge, but we look at that like it's the equivalent of a tip for those from the US read more

Not far from the Spanish Steps a small ristorante with very good food. I had an artichoke salad (trying to go light) and my wife ordered the lasagna. Well she shared a bite of the lasagna and even though the salad was amazing and I was somewhat full I had to order some lasagna for myself. Molto bene! I don't know why the food tastes sooo good in Italy but it just does. Probably the great ingredients really farm to table with nothing added. On a little side street and we sat partially in the street with the cars and motorbikes going by that just made the meal even more memorable. We were going to go somewhere else, but it was closed. So nice to find a spot in a tourist area that was good. I go the onion soup because of a Yelper's recommendation and I enjoyed it a lot. Not too strong of an onion taste, but best with bites of the cheese. My homemade pasta with pork pillows (bacon) was pretty darn good! And if you'd like the olive oil or a souvenir, they sell a handful of items for purchase. read more

Thanks to the power of Yelp, I found this little gem on a rainy night in Rome. Actually trekked 15 minutes to get there and it was worth it. The staff was very friendly from start to finish. They didn't try to put this solo traveler at the worst possible table which seems to be a frustrating recurrence in Rome, I'm finding. I enjoyed the Parmeggiano Reggiano app for starters. Several cubes of the good stuff with a bit of balsamic glaze on the side. To die for. For the main course, I had the Sole with brown butter and sage. A nice, light departure from all of the heavy carbs I've been indulging in. Fresh and delicious. This will go down as one of my most memorable dining experiences in Rome, for sure. read more

This was a nice restaurant we found on our way to the jazz bar. The food here was delicious and it was at average price. It's far enough away from tourist hot spots so the prices aren't effected. We went in the early evening and it filled up quick. We ordered a bottle of house wine for about £15 and our plates were less than that. This was one of the better meals I had while in Rome. The service was good and attentive. There is a cover charge I think about £2 but they also leave you with a nice post card souvenir. read more

Excellent pasta and very friendly service. We were there for lunch after visiting Piazza Spagna and ended up having a delicious meal. The portions are enough so that a single plate of pasta is enough for lunch. The restaurant charges a 2.5€ / person "seating" fee, but no service fee. We paid 42€ for two plates of pasta and two hot teas, which seems a bit expensive for lunch. The food was yummy, though. We ordered spaghetti carbonara and penne with mussels, and both were excellent choices. read more

Beware - tourist trap! Their rating is deceptive. Honestly, I think the only reason this place has more than two stars is because your typical tourist wouldn't know good food if it hit them in the face. Lasagna was COVERED in oil. It was greasy, barely any meat, and way over cooked. Salmon Carpaccio and Octopus with Lemon were mediocre at best, but octopus was still drenched in oil. Service was average. On our way from Trevi Fountain to the Spanish Steps and stumbled upon Sant' Andrea and we're pleasantly surprised. We had the Spaghetti alle vongole veracity, Filetto di pollo al "Marsala", and the Spaghetti al sughetto Delle polpettine. It was late and hot so we only had a main course. The waiter offered salads and cheeses but was not pushy. Everything was delicious. We finished with Tiramisu and Cremes Catalina. The prices were good and the service very good. read more

Delicious!!! By far our favorite dinner experience during our week stay in Rome. My husband and I split the mixed salad to start, which was a mixture of arugula, butter lettuce and tomato with olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the side. For dinner I had the lasagna which is by far the best lasagna I've ever tasted. The handmade pasta was so incredible topped with hot cheese. My husband ordered the pesto linguini which he would not stop raving about. We then split the tiramisu which was the perfect amount of cream to cake and the cake was warm which was a big plus, I feel like other places have pre made their tiramisu and let them sit in the fridge until someone orders which makes the cake get super soggy. This tiramisu tasted very fresh and paired nicely with our cappuccinos. We loved this place so much we made a reservation for the very next night. They also said they're are closed Saturday's so keep that in mind. read more

This was a recommendation from our concierge and he was right on target! Lots of seafood options (the sea bass prepared in salt was cooked perfectly) and the veal was very good. We stayed in Rome just for two days and were looking for a lovely authentic Italian restaurant in the center of the city. Walked in around 9 o'clock and I had no trouble sitting down for dinner. Place is beautiful & authentically Italian, clean and atmospheric. Dinner was splendid and truly plentiful. The server spoke perfect English and recommended a delicious local red. Stumbled on this place after walking around the trevy fountain. The food was DELICIOUS. This happened to be one of our best meals in Italy and it was just by chance. The onion soup was amazing I could eat it everyday. There were two options for onion soup, one was regular onion and one was a Parmesan cheese soup with onion. We chose the regular onion which also had a large dollop of creamy cheese in the middle of the soup that took the dish to a whole new level. Expensive but totally worth every penny. The beef carpaccio was good, pretty basic and expensive for two very thin translucent pieces of meat. The homemade lasagna is insane, my mouth is watering right now thinking of it, the cheese and meat sauce was perfect.The arribiata pasta was spicy but so fresh and tasty. Definitely worth a try! A warm welcome by friendly helpful staff set the meal off to a good start. Unlike some other local restaurants, this one openly has a cover charge but does not try to sneak bread into you as a stealth charge. Looking through the menu our first problem was deciding which of many exciting dishes to have. I had the gnocchi with a ragu sauce which were without doubt the best gnocchi I have ever had. My companion choose the tagliatelle with chicken liver and tomato sauce which was also an excellent choice. A very pleasant half carafe of house red wine was a fine accompaniment. After the main dishes we had the same dilemma with the great choice of interesting desserts. Tempted by many, we ended on the chocolate side of heaven with a simple sweet of chocolate sauce whipped cream and biscuit-sponge. My companion had compio trio ciocolatti which was a layered dessert of beautiful different chocolate flavours not masked by too much sweetness but truly benefiting from the contrast between white, milk and dark chocolate. Finished with a fine ristretto espresso. Total cost for two was seventy euro. Service throughout was charming friendly and attentive without ever becoming intrusive. read more
