Trust is 100% restored knowing that if problems come up they will take any action needed to follow up. I will also say that the work they originally did was actually to code, and we agreed that the moisture problems arose due to the nonstandard setup of my dehumidifier, NOT because of errors in Terra Firma's work. Thank you Terra Firma.*** Unfortunately, I have to drop a negative review in the interest of warning other folks that their work has gone downhill. I previously had an excellent experience with Terra Firma for management of a water problem in my crawlspace. I hired them without question again for my current property for management of moisture issues, and I didn't check their work upon completion as thoroughly as I should have. Unfortunately, about 1 - 2 months after completion of work, I discovered a large mushroom growing out of one of the structural posts in my crawl/basement. On closer inspection, I noticed that the dehumidifier water discharge line they installed was dumping less than a foot away from my foundation, corresponding to the exact spot the mushroom was growing. Moisture was the exact problem they were supposed to fix, but now they have created a severe structural problem secondary to moisture with the dehumidifier line dumping large quantities of water right next to my foundation. In other words, they created the exact issue they were purporting to fix by collecting the moisture and depositing it into my foundation. Once fruiting bodies are growing out of wood, this is an indicator that the wood is severely compromised and the fungus network has grown extensively. I now have a very expensive and serious problem to fix. I called to let them know about the problem, not sure if I will hear back from the coordinator/ the team who did the work. I am not sure if I would trust them to fix the issue after the damage they have caused, but I would accept financial remediation. If they take steps to make things right, I would update my review. I would not hire Terra Firma again for any crawlspace work, be it structural or moisture related because of the big problem they have caused. Again, just would like to warn others. read more

Hired to correct sinking floor throughout the home, to the point doors couldn't close or would stick and could feel significant change in the floor height while walking. TerraFirma sent over an estimator, then scheduled repairs. They were done in less than one working day and provided photos. They laid down paper to protect the floor as they were working. Due to another issue found, had to reschedule a second day to come out and install a supporting beam in the crawlspace. Different crew but were as professional and clean as the first. I should have posted a review years ago when Terra Firm lifted up our sinking home in Olympia (the floor was an inch below the baseboards) and encapsulated the crawl space. They did a fantastic job. The workers worked HARD. I'm writing a review now regarding the last two checkup/service visits. They came out today and also about a year ago for an annual checkup. Good contractors, absolutely terrible management, follow-through, and design. They signed on to our egress and waterproofing project in late 2019 and here we are, in December of 2020, and we still aren't done. This is because: 1. Without asking us they changed all the permit drawings, and submitted a design that would not work. We had to resubmit the original drawings after we found out about the changes and called out their mistakes. 2. The ordered all the wrong size windows and had to delay the project 2 months farther 3. They still have not installed ladders, window well covers, or hooked up the drains for the window wells. Because of this, our window wells have filled with water and the siding and wall assembly is getting soaked. I'll update this review to describe the problems in more detail later, but for now I need to stop my basement from flooding. Only reason I didn't give them 1 star was their workers and laborers, who are skilled, kind, and hard working. They're stuck with a terrible management structure, but every time Terra Firma has been able to get the right materials and plans together to actually perform the work we're paying them for the craftsmanship has been top notch. read more

I had another company come out and take a look. After heavy rain I had a small leak at the base of a basement wall about 3 ' below grade. The other company said I had a major problem requiring about $20k in fixes to include a trench/sump pump issue. Stunned, I looked on Yelp to get a second opinion. Made an appt expecting the worst. Richard Stewart was our sales person who came to our house to look at our problem and give us a quote, Bree Larson was our customer service rep, and Colin was the leading man in our actual repair. We are new home owners, who had ground water intrusion and straight up FLOODING in our basement right after month 2 of moving in. Backstory: Our daylight basement had a history of flooding nearly every year. We tried putting in a french drain around the area where water was coming in which helped a bit, but didn't resolve our issue. A few years later, we also had a cement wall put into the ground about 6" away from the house which extended 6-8' down into the ground. This didn't resolve our issue either. So finally we decided to just install a sump pump. We contacted a few local places, but felt best about Terrafirma. About Terrafirma: They were super friendly throughout the process, very clear about expectations, and were always happy to answer any questions we had. Installation went very well. They were working in some tight spaces which made it quite difficult to contain the dust (from busting up the concrete), but they a pretty good job. About our pump: We can tell that the pump has come on at some point and pumped out water, but we've never heard it. It must be very quiet! Our basement has been completely dry ever since, so we are very happy with our end result. read more

Tried calling about uneven floors at a post and was told that this company was not willing to come out and look at it, after I was told by the home and garden show representative that they would. Before I was told that they were not willing to work on a previous property. At the time I though that was reasonable as it was an older house but the current house is a 1990s home that is in fairly good shape minus the floor being uneven at a post. After having our power mast come off our roof with a huge amount of snow.. we got the power to he house installed underground... This was not done with a french-drain and so the water built up under or slab and caused damage in our basement. Terrafirma Foundations came out 3 months later (it was a long wait but totally worth the wait) to give a bid. The technicians came out and changed the plan when hearing the story and seeing the foundation walls were from the 1920s. About 4 months ago (I just joined Yelp recently) I hired TerraFirma to put an interior drain and sump pump in my Seattle basement after some flooding. When they pulled up the carpet to start work it became obvious that the problem was much bigger (roots running all through and cracking the foundation). The plan had to change entirely and the job got way bigger. Luckily, TerraFirma was with me the whole way. They owned the problem from end to end, figuring out how to get the new work done within a reasonable price and coordinating all of the various sub-contractors who were involved in removing and repouring my basement foundation. We called TerraFirma Foundation Systems to come take a look at our crawlspace since they seemed like an expert in this field. They came out to look at our crawl space while my mom was home (we had small puddles of water on top of the plastic). Since she didn't know much about the situation she asked him to reach out to us. A few days went by and we did not hear anything. We called them to sendthe quote and finally called to let us know how much and he recommended a solution for french drains etc which would be over $5K. Luckily, we had a few more companies come take a look because they told us that none of those systems were necessary and it was just our dryer vent which was causing those puddles on top of the plastic. We are definitely a little disappointed in their solution recommendation. Considering they are supposed to be experts, how did they miss that puddles on top of the plastic were not coming from beneath the ground but from a clogged/damaged dryer vent? read more

Setting up the appointment was easy, and Kyle (I think it was Kyle) arrived on time and examined the foundation, and was patient while we dealt with a couple of other contractors we had on the property at the time. I've hired a lot of contractors over my four house history but never for a foundation so I was very anxious throughout the process with Terra Firma. Contracted them to place smart jacks under the main beam in the crawlspace for added support and a 4" lift attempt to level out the floor. Also Pin Piles along the North foundation wall where previous excavation had undermined the load path. Throughout the process my main point of contact, Tulane, was communicative and honest along with some hand holding. He was exemplary in every way and I thank him very much. When the crews arrived (we had two different crews over a two month process) they were hard working, professional and always left a clean work area at the end of the day. The work they performed looked great and has given us piece of mind. Angel's crew did some drain pipe work, placed the 4 smart jacks, shot structural foam into the back patio concrete and re-did the vapor barrier. They did a great job. Crew two was headed by Jake who was simply wonderful to work with. Focused, diligent, precise and just a great guy. He and his crew got all 4 inches out of the main beam and placed all the pin piles along the North foundation, explaining everything as he went. I am very pleased with the work performed and the folks who performed it and would recommend TF to anyone looking for foundation repair.
