My friend, Randy, said to her the sign says 9pm she told him she wasn't doing this with him right now cause she had a hard day. I asked if Randy and I could finish our pool game, and she said no cause they already said they were having a meeting at 8 pm. Which they didn't tell us until after we had already bought our drinks. I said that's BS, and she told me to get my ass out of her bar and that I could keep my ass and drugs oit of her bar. I told her I don't do drugs and she could test my ass. I then said half her staff does cococaine and called her a bitch as I was walking out. She threatened to kick my ass and the 6'5 bar back chic stood up acting like she was going to hit me. This was all while I was walking out to leave. Then after I left she called my boss, Penny, trying to get me fired. Thank God I have an awesome boss. Anyone can ask my boyfriend, Randy, Doug or Bill. They were all there when it happened. She then barred my friend Joie who used to bartend at Charlotte's cause she commented on my Facebook post which is identical to this post.

Backstory- To know ones surprise the owner is Sheila and she's had the joint for about five years. The first surprise is they are open 2 PM-2AM seven days a week and Sheila works every hour! That's right; twelve hours a day, seven days a week. Yikes! The second surprise is that before she became a bar owner, she was a phycologist. That makes for some interesting conversations! Atmosphere- Come on folks it's a dive bar! Before this it was a fruit stand and before that it was a gas station. You're coming here for a cheap drink, good company and not the décor. It has a pool table, darts and a TouchTunes jukebox. BTW- The parking lot is big. Adult libations- Full bar of course. Not really a specialty draft place; just the common stuff. The same with the wines. This place is also a liquor store or sometimes called a bottle shop. That means you can bring a bottle home! So when it's 95 outside, stop in where it's dark and cool and have a pop or two and some stimulating conversation with an interesting lady!

During happy hour drinks are $6 or $8 for classics or revival favorites. The drinks here are top notch and the atmosphere is iconic. And did I mention, this is in Lakeland Florida. This bar could be transported to Miami, Orlando or Ft Lauderdale and would be Uber popular. The service is awesome and the bartenders here are well trained because they make the drinks effortlessly. Love the overall vibe here. Makes me want to move closer because who doesnt want a happy hour from 1-7pm on the weekdays. The drinks here can paint a smile on anyone. So very good! And I am smiling while writing this review.

It feels like a speakeasy inside, but it's not quite as mysterious as most are. You enter in the front door after checking with the bouncer outside. The drinks here are gourmet, there's no other way to say it. They have an extensive and unique list of options, but they can also make pretty much anything you ask for. The last time I was there I had a lavender blueberry moscow mule, of which I had asked the bartender if I could have a flavored mule and that was his suggestion. There's a decent amount of seating here but the place gets pretty busy. The one thing I can knock them in is they have really slow service. The bartenders work so hard on each drink that even if there's a few dozen people there it takes time to order and then get your drink. So that's just something to be aware of but I promise it's so worth the wait. Absolutely love this place!

Service was... okay. A bit on the "too relaxed" side, which almost came across as unfriendly. To be fair, I was already in a mood from something personal before I walked in, so maybe that energy carried over, but still worth noting. Food-wise, it was decent--nothing mind-blowing, but good enough that I'd definitely come back when in the area. The loco moco burger was basically an ordinary burger, though the gravy added an interesting twist. Not sure I'd reorder it. I really enjoyed the French toast--the grilled pineapple on top was disappointingly dry, but the syrup helped and overall I'd get that again. The millionaire bacon sounded much more exciting on the menu than it tasted--pretty basic in execution. What I do love is how creative their menu reads; it makes you want to try everything. That's why I feel like I need to come back and sample more dishes to really get the full experience. Cute spot, decent food, and definitely worth a return visit to explore more of their offerings.

Every day of the week they have a different separate drink menu for the specialties of that day. I love the Wednesday bourbon. The vibe inside is so amazing and Homie and it is pretty intimate though. So keep in mind if you have large parties like I went once with around six people it is hard for everyone to sit together. So I would definitely recommend coming on more weekday evenings when it's not as busy otherwise you will be having to wait in a line outside unfortunately. The capacity seems to be roughly around 30 people after talking with the bartenders. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. The off menu drinks that they could come up with ended up being some of my absolute favorites. I had the bartender at one point make me three surprise me drinks for whatever they felt like they could make. And every single one was so amazing I ended up passing it around to the rest of the group for everyone to try. Keep in mind, the drinks are probably a little bit more on the expensive side, but you are paying for more of the experience. It is also important to note that there is a five dollar cover fee that will last for a full week to enter the place, or you can buy an annual membership for $40. If you buy the annual membership, they do type out a membership library card for you and laminate so it feels very official and it's very cool to be able to have in your wallet. In the true vibe of speakeasy, this is a hidden gem.
