Terra Pavers Where to start? We contracted for pavers in the middle of the COVID crisis. May 2021 to be exact. I did my due diligence and researched as much as I could find and took 4 quotes from a select group of contractors. I had my personal favorite on who I hoped would win the bid. I got my way! While Terra Pavers was not the lowest bid they also were not the most expensive. I went back to my research and mirrored the pros and cons of several bids; ultimately, Terra Pavers won the job. We went down to their vendor to look at samples and placed our order. Little did we know that there would be a supply issue that would set all paver companies back months. No one's fault, just is what it is. Damn COVID to Hades and back, better yet just stay in Hades and don't come back! Through the waiting process, Terra Pavers got permits approved (no small feat in my little community) and we waited on pavers. During the wait, the Customer Service Manager Janette maintained contact periodically and occasionally Javier (engineer) would check in to let me know they are trying to press but they too are waiting for pavers on ALL jobs. Fast forward... Finally, they arrived. Let the fun begin! Day 1 all old pavers picked up and moved to the side. They brought in sand and leveled the area tamped it down and then rechecked level. Day 2 crew arrives with pavers in tow. Over the course of the day these guys worked like mad and literally were ~90% done at days end. Day 3 smaller crew arrives and they finish up all detail work. They took away all debris and there was NOTHING to clean up when they left. The job they did literally surpassed my highest expectations... as well as when the city comes out to do the final inspection in the permit... they were commenting on the extra touches and attention to detail the company took. They literally cut the pavers on a curve going around the pool with a 15 inch wide blade. I didn't even know that was possible! Can't beat that in my book! Oh, and did I say how incredibly fabulous the pavers look and the top tier workmanship? My backyard is now beautiful! Whatever you do, think twice about hiring this company for your paver needs. In 2023, I was given an estimate by Javier Baptista, the owner of the company for $2900 repair project on my existing travertine patio. I was unable to do the project then. I called again for an estimate in November 2024 to do the same project and I was given an estimate of $4350. An outrageous increase indeed. I am a Vietnam veteran, and a senior and expected a reasonable quote for the project. Instead, Mr. Baptista had an attitude and a sense of entitlement when he quoted my project. This company advertised paver repair so I set up an appointment for a quote. Person arrived on-time looked at the job and told me he would measure and email a quote. When my back was turned he ran for his car a left. If he didn't want the job he could have said so. Don't waste your time if you need repair as they advertised. Terra Pavers - a pool and patio area - General Contractors Near Me - Boca Raton, Florida

POSITIVES: the office staff (Josh and Jeanette) are extremely helpful and friendly, they produced the lowest bid for a domestic project, they produce a written contract, the manager Javier Baptista came to the worksite to deal with problems as they arose, and, very importantly, their work comes with various levels of written guarantees. NEGATIVES: there were several cut corners in the process and finishing which required supervision and remediation, there were communication problems with the crew during the project, the paver distributor had an unreliable product, the manager seemed unfamiliar with various specifications in the written contract, and the "finished" job is sloppy. DETAILS: Contracted with a Terra rep to put in two walkways using three specified solid cover pavers selected from samples provided by their distributor, lift re-sand and reset paved patio, and power-wash and re-sand driveway. Problems: (1) one of three samples was mislabeled, so pavers that arrived were the wrong color, (2) the Terra rep acted like this was our fault, blaming us for noticing after the pavers were set down, as opposed to...when? (3) one of the walkways was not laid out in the path we demonstrated to the rep and to the foreman, (4) the Terra rep acted like this was our fault, blaming us for not supervising the work more closely, which became our job...when? (5) the two installed walkways were not graded as per the contract, and the bases were not dug out quite enough, such that the sand+paver sandwich rises above all the turf about 3-4 inches, so water will run off but the paths look a bit disconnected from the landscaping (6) a 22x20 area was specified for lifting and re-sanding, but the crew lifted and re-sanded a 20x20 area...so 40 sqft was paid for but untouched, (7) although the 43sqft top of the spa was also specified for lifting and re-sanding, only half of that area was lifted, so another 20sqft was paid for but untouched, (8) the crew did not lay sufficient sand on the pavers to protect the base from wash-out and then asserted such was not an issue, and at the same time managed to wash about 10 lbs of sand out from an area they were not supposed to touch, and they managed to wash that sand right into my pool, (9) the crew power-washed a third of the driveway, somehow without removing any weeds, and did not re-sand as per contract, yet they claimed the job was finished, (10) almost every single time we told the contractor that the contract was unfulfilled he first stated that the services were not part of the contract, then, after being directed to the relevant section of the contract, he consistently stated that he was not aware of that specification, then he stated we just had to keep repeating instructions to the on-site foreman, and then he would explain that he would not charge us for all the "extra" work as a professional courtesy, (11) the rep said the job would take two days but it took two and a half weeks, (12) there are drops if cement, some that an hour of brushing with a steel brush could not get out, all over the pavers. I've been told by neighbors that all of the above is normal MO for contractors down here in Boca, so perhaps all issues are relative and, in the end, minimal. The company was prompt and efficient in all respects. They gave me an estimate within 24 hours of evaluating my driveway. The price was competitive. The called me to schedule the work at a time of mutual convenience and showed up on time. The work was conducted in a professional, cordial and efficient manner. The end result met my expectations. The driveway was cleaned up well. My only complaint was that some debris stones and sand - were left on the grass adjacent to the area where the work was performed. A minor glitch. Awesome is the only word that comes to mind. They repaired the shifting pavers on our front porch, driveway and around our pool. They removed the roots that were causing the pavers to shift. They came on time, did the job in a superb fashion and carefully cleaned up all of the mess left behind. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend their services. read more

WE are very unhappy at the workmanship of our driveway. It is popping up in sections. Had multiple problems with the installation very sloppy and unprofessional. We were told by Javier Baptista that they would be out to seal the driveway(we were willing to pay additional) but because of the problems he said they would seal it but it never happened. He himself never came out to see the job. We called and of course did not receive a return phone call. Now I have stains and it is uneven in a lot of areas. I would never recommend this company to anyone. This company was very unprofessional through the whole process. read more

This is the worst experience that I ever had with that company. Terra pavers is unprofessional and don't do things the right way. They don't even know what they are doing. I contacted them and get a quote to do my patio, after a couple months I get back to them to move on with the job. Without asking me they decided they were going to do part of the patio. After long talk we agree on a price to do the whole patio. It's take them forever to get permit and to order materials. They have made me sign a "contract" but I never received a copy of that "contract". I have made two partial payments and I never get any receipt. After more than three months they finally finished the job. A guy name Edward came to my house and ask for the rest of the payment, I ask about the final inspection and I said that I will finish paying when the inspector ok everything, he promised me that everything is going to be ok and i don't have to worry, he won't run away with my money. I paid him in full and two day after, the inspector fail their horrible work. I contacted them and they told me that I have to do what the inspector is asking for, that is not part of their job. Now they have all my money in their hand, I don't have a receipt and the work is still not approve. I asked to talk Edward to remind him what he had told me, but it seems that he run away. I don't if they are licensed, but they should not be in business. read more
