I recently had Paver Man redo our driveway, front entrance path, and walkway on the side of the house. I couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome! Before embarking on this project - which I'd contemplated doing for several years - I had researched a few other paving companies. The size, cost, and logistics of redoing such a large and busily trafficked area of my house was daunting. I simply didn't know where to begin. So I started right here at YELP (for the 2nd time in 3 years) to look at the candidates. Ultimately, what it came down to was not only the reviews, but actually meeting with owners and seeing examples of paving jobs completed. That is where Paver Man won the business hands-down. Other paving companies either didn't have access to high quality stones, or were too small a business to do the entire project A to Z, which entails removing the old pavers, laying down a proper foundation, fitting in the new pavers, and then power washing and sealing for the final result. Paver Man did it all, with a single point-man to interface with. Before we signed off on the job, the owner of Paver Man gave us three addresses of driveways they'd done, so we could see for ourselves the options for stones, layout design, and quality of work. I was actually amazed to see how much an exquisitely-executed driveway could add a palpable "WOW!" factor to the property! So we took the plunge and signed a contract. I was impressed with how efficiently the project was run from start to finish. Day one, the cheap, 1" cracked pavers that we'd bought our house with were removed. Day two, a proper foundation was laid. Day 3 the new, beautiful 2-inch shellstone pavers started to go in - with a very nice design! On top of which, we had to replace the aluminum track on our driveway gate. Paver Man coordinated the work needed with our gate guy to make that happen without us even playing "gatekeeper" between the two crews. I was really impressed with the results for our large driveway and the new walkway up to our front door. They replaced large stones set in grass that was hard to walk on with smooth pavers. So I asked if we could have the stones extended along the side of the house for continuity? No problem. The final result was brand new pavers in the driveway extending out to the street, the front walkway, and a path along the side of house. In just 5 days, the entire job was done. Paver Man also did the power washing and sealing of the stones, which really made the shellstone POP with detail. Even our neighbors are amazed at the transformation from tired old to elegant NEW look. Not only is the Paver Man staff extremely responsive - returning calls or texts almost immediately - but they worked seamlessly together to get me a quote with design comps, get the job done, and handle the billing without any hassles. Again, I was convinced I made the right decision hiring Paver Man to do my project. I am confident that these beautiful shellstone pavers will outlast me. Granted, I'm 71, but I'm thinking of decades of longevity for a one-time, week-long project with a dramatic outcome. Money well spent. read more

Paver Man Review I strongly advise against hiring Paver Man for any driveway work. If you do, pay close attention to the wording of their contract. We hired them to remove blacktop and install pavers on our driveway. During the job, they informed us that they had damaged a part of our main water line but assured us they would fix it before closing the area with pavers. Trusting their word, we didn't think much of it, especially since we had sprinkler work done that same week. A few days later, our water company reported an increase in water usage. Assuming it was related to the sprinkler work, we didn't initially connect it to the driveway. Six months later, the leak had worsened, and we still couldn't locate the source--until we noticed water seeping through the pavers. When we contacted Paver Man, they refused to take responsibility, citing a contract clause that absolves them of liability for "any and all damage." They knowingly caused the damage, misled us about fixing it, and simply paved over the broken line. Now, we're left dealing with a worsening problem they created. To their credit, the driveway was beautiful, and prior to this issue, I would have given them five stars. Unfortunately, their handling of this problem and their lack of accountability completely destroyed my trust in their company. A job well done isn't worth much if the contractor refuses to take responsibility for damage they caused. Proceed with caution--or better yet, avoid them entirely. read more

Today was the day Paver Man completed my reseal on my paved back patio. It was a beautiful sunny day and that was a great condition for them to work in. My pavers (which are over 11 years old) had never been cleaned or sealed as long as I have been here in my home (Ive owned since 2010). I decided to use some of my inheritance on home improvements and began on the outside of my home. It was time to clean that dingy looking patio up, so I called Paver Man. There were 3 steps they did today. The first step was filling in all the spaces between the pavers with cement. The second step was to pressure clean the entire patio. Lastly they laid a sealant over the pavers that makes it look a little shiny and keeps the clean pavers sealed. Little improvements like this increase the value of my home. I am all about improvement when it comes to my living conditions. Now that I am finished with the outside I will be concentrating on things inside that need my attention. What a joke this company is. People need to get 2-3 quotes and realize this company is way out in space with their pricing out for jobs. I have a 9ftx25in area that needs to be done and I have about 10 pavers already for the project. Also needing about 3-5 pavers that are loose. You wanna know what they quoted ?!?! $1600!!! That's about $200 a sq ft for a job and also they listed in their quote about sod removal. Uhm no. A few years ago I had Paverman do a paver job on my property. Power washing was involved I have an above ground hot tub in the area. The base of the hot tub had a coating to protect the wood base that was removed by the force of the power washer. I pointed the coating on the base was no longer present. I brought this to the attention of the company and explained this is a Huge problem for the hot tub as the base would disintegrate because the base was no longer protected by the coating. We were tired of the traditional brick pavers because they stain easily and require maintenance. Ricardo, the owner, introduced a different option other than the brick pavers and showed us one of his actual projects. Dealing with this company was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. They botched every step of my paver project, permitting, payment, and the work itself. The project consisted of replacing my asphalt driveway, covering the Chattahoochee pool deck and coping, backyard patio, and walkway from the backyard to the driveway. I paid 33% deposit on 9/8/23 with an estimated start date of 10/30/23. I reached out on 10/24 to confirm the start date. They said they would get back to me. After two days I asked again. They said they were still waiting for the permit and would need to push the start date to 11/18. Records show they didn't even apply for the permit until 11/2/23. Work finally began on 11/27. They sent an invoice for the second 33% payment. It didn't reflect my full initial deposit. They said they had no record of the full amount, so now I have to pull my bank records to show proof of the payment. They finally began the driveway on 11/25. They built forms as required by code for concrete reinforcement between the sidewalk and street but once it passed inspection, they tore it all out! They said it wasn't needed and there needs to be a swale instead. I disagreed and called the owner, Ricardo Marcelino. He tried telling me my home wasn't in Boca Raton and a swale is required by the county. Unbelievable. He finally agreed to remove the swale after it passed final inspection. It failed inspection because of the swale. The inspector was in disbelief. It needed to be straight across between the sidewalk and street with concrete reinforcement. They did that section over, but without the concrete reinforcement. I insisted they do it properly to code, but instead of re-building the forms with rebar and pouring concrete, they simply lifted out the edge bricks and dumped dry cement under them. The next disaster was the pool deck, patio and walkway. They used the thinner one-inch pavers for the patio and walkway which I expressed my displeasure about. They said they needed to because the pool deck used the one-inch remodel paver. The pool deck needed then but the patio should have been two-inch pavers. The paver manufacturer, Tremron's literature states that you can transition from one inch to two-inch paver since they're manufactured with the same material. For the pool deck, the existing coping wasn't removed properly, so when the remodel coping went over it, the deck was much higher than it should have been. They installed the coping without cutting the bricks to account for the round pool so the grout lines looked awful. I insisted they do it over which they reluctantly did. Since the coping was so high, the pitch of the deck went directly toward the house. Any water from the pool or rain flowed up against the house where the sliders were. The back patio and walkway were also pitched toward the house. I was in shock when I received a text that the job was complete and to make the final payment. I insisted Ricardo Marcelino come out to see this mess. He came out, agreed that the pitch was wrong and would have them come back to fix it. Gilmar's crew came back to redo the pool deck, patio and walkway. Dealing with Gilmar, the crew leader, was painful. Whenever I pointed out his shoddy workmanship, he gave a condescending smirk and reminded me that he has been doing this for twenty years. Doubtful since he couldn't even get the most important part, the pitch, correct. Zero dust control when they were cutting pavers. No wet saw. Everything in my yard and neighbor's yards were covered in dust. And I'm still finding cigarette butts in the landscaping. Every time they lifted and replaced the bricks, they would be uneven with larger gaps between bricks. Their solution was to hammer them down. Of course, the thin one-inch pavers began to crack. They ran out of one-inch pavers to replace all the cracked ones so they resorted to cutting the two-inch pavers in half, which are more uneven. They came back four more times to try to fix all the issues before I gave up. This company just doesn't have the skill to install pavers properly. The edge of the driveway had to be repaired three times. They said it was my fault for driving too close to the edge. Amazing. Four months to complete and I still have uneven and cracked pavers. Botton Line, stay away from this company! read more

HORRIBLE customer service...the secretary acts like she can't understand you even though she speaks English in full sentences to me. I'm not sure why the main person answering the phones has communication issues speaking English! I had to call multiple times and days just to get my quote to then have them tell me it takes 12 weeks for the pavers to come in to do the driveway extension. We then agreed to wait, to only be totally disappointed a few days before doing the job saying it's not the same color pavers and it won't match....I couldn't believe how horrible this was and how unprofessional they were!! They gave me the runaround to then be ultimately left in the dust!!! Right before the holidays too. I could Not stress more, to NOT use this company! Seems like they must only cater to Portuguese clients is the only way possible they are event getting any good reviews. When I bought my home a couple years ago, the prior sealant was not put on correctly and allowed water to get in which left it looking like a grayish, white plastic pealing coating over the pavers. All the pavers looked like a dulled version of the same color. Paver Man sandblasted the old coating off, pressure cleaned and reapplied a new sealer and now all the color variations in the pavers stand out and look great! Very happy with the results. I would've given 5 out of 5 except I had some issues scheduling the job initially....but once that was worked out, everything went great. Tip: schedule job for when forecast looks dry for several days since the process takes a couple days and the sealer, once applied, takes 48-72 hours to dry. He said he would come by the next Thursday between 2-4 pm to bring samples, sign the contract and collect the deposit. I left work early to make sure I was home, printed the permitting paper and wrote a check for the deposit and he just blew me off and never showed up to my house. I called and texted several times and he just ignored my calls and texts. Super unprofessional company. I hired another local company and the communication has been much better so far. The first appointment the guy never showed up and I called back only to find out that the woman that made the appointments typed in the wrong phone number and the workmen was not able to reach me in time.
