After finally showing up they come once in April and once in May....then NOTHING. They do not come at all in June. Finally on July 13th I call to cancel services and explain how they never show up (and also that our bug issue wasn't resolved anyway) and the agent tells me that I am signed up for services every 2 months and not every month! What!? Why would I do that- totally inaffective. So she says she has cancelled the account and all is good. So TODAY is SATURDAY July 24th- I wake up at 8:15 am to see an email saying that Orkin came to my vacation rental property at 7AM!!! Guests have windows without curtains and even when we had service with them they were told they could only come week days between 10am and 4pm!!! Now I'm getting calls from very angry people that they woke up to a creeper outside of their windows at 7am. Orkin is the absolute WORST! Currently spending another hour of my life on the phone with them to try YET AGAIN to cancel services with them. I was just given apologies (which are worth nothing) and reassured that now it definitely is cancelled. DO NOT HIRE ORKIN. BUNCH OF CLOWNS

They repeatedly "guaranteed" their work, but offered no meaningful actions to back that up. We were told again and again that the situation was "under control," yet nothing ever improved. Communication was poor, and there was no clear plan or accountability between visits. Each technician seemed unaware of what the last had done. One of the most frustrating issues was how they handled the traps. Despite our repeated requests, the traps were rarely cleaned or reset properly. Rotting bait was often left untouched on the traps for days or even dumped into our garden beds -- creating an even bigger mess and drawing in more animals. It felt like no one was taking basic precautions or showing professional care. To top it off, on day one they caught a groundhog -- and then lost it due to a faulty trap. After that failure, they offered us a kill trap as a solution, but we no longer trusted them with humane or lethal methods. If they couldn't handle live trapping responsibly, there was no way we felt safe letting them escalate to kill traps. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself -- and ultimately had to. I rarely write negative reviews, but I hope this helps someone else avoid the same wasted time, stress, and money.

The usual service I had received in the past was definitely not there with this new company. They used to spray my whole house with a hose from the back of their truck, knock down cob webs and wasp nests, lay rodent bate under my shed and much more. It was a service that typically took about 45 minutes and well worth the $90. Now... a kid came with a backpack spray. Said it had new owners that said the past owners were using too much chemical (that is why your company has a license... to use it). It was the equivalent of me getting my $20 spray jug of home defense out and doing it myself. After the kid sprayed with the backpack for 15 minutes and left, I called the company. I explained that the service was completely lacking compared to what we had in the past and what my expectations were. He said he could send someone out again. I told him I had an appointment at 3 and would be gone and didn't want someone coming back when I was not home. Because of covid, they changed my appointment to a teleconference so I was home when that kid came back right at 3, when I specifically told him I didn't want anyone at my house! Company doesn't listen to their customers. That's another strike against them. I explained to the kid all that used to be in the service and I still to this day have wasp nests on my home. I later took the spider webs down myself with a broom. The bugs came back after about a month. If I wasn't home when he came back.. I would have never known he was there. I never heard back from the company about the kid coming back to check on my satisfaction. Obviously they don't care about their customers and don't want repeat customers. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone.

I have been using Apex Pest Control since I purchased my home near downtown Asheville (Montford) in 2010. I am on monthly treatments (for mosquitos, etc. in the summer, as well as other services that accommodate those treatments. They have always been very responsive, professional and accommodating with my every need. I am a real estate broker, and have suggested their services to many, many clients of mine in the past, and my clients have alway (every time) been extremely happy, as well. SO, here is where the real kicker is... I have a rental home in the same neighborhood. When purchasing the home, there was a termite bond with another company. Needless to say, we needed to keep services with that other company to keep the bond active. Because of that, we had regular pest treatments to that house as well, just to keep things simple. Last weekend, my tenants called me to let me know that there was a flea issue in the house. I wanted it addressed immediately, believing that nobody should have to deal with such and issue (they do not have pets in the house). I called our "regular" pest control company. They told us that they were very busy, but would try to fit us in. They called back about 20 minutes later and indicated that they would be there between 5:30-6:00 that evening. My tenants waited until 8:00pm before they called me to say that the company was a NO SHOW (again, not Apex). This was unacceptable to me... not even a phone call. The next morning, I talked with Jeff from Apex. I was frantic trying to get this horrible situation taken care of. He indicated that they were very backed up and that they could try to squeeze me in on the next day. I am sure that he could sense that I was very upset (not with him, but the situation and not wanting my tenants to deal with this). I told him that my tenants had their son and grandson coming in the following day, and that I was going to have to put them all up in hotel rooms because it was not right to have them stay in an infested house. Jeff called back in about 10 minutes and told me that they could be at the house in 15 minutes if I could make it available to them. They came, treated, all is well and all are happy. The end of the story is... this home was not even a home that is a regular for them. Maybe because I was/am a regular, they took that into consideration. Either way, they took care of me in a desperate situation. They cared for me when they didn't need to, and were very professional and caring. I highly recommend them. We've battled mosquitos for years at our house in the front and back yards. During spring summer…read moreand fall the mosquitos would eat us up. IPI installed two contraptions that have eliminated all mosquitos and we are now enjoying our front and back porches with zero mosquitos, and also enjoying our meals outside! It's amazing. I knew there had to be a way to rid of them...but the foggers were only very temporary. This system is serviced by Isaac and is completely headache free for me. We have one treating the front of the house and one treating the rear of the house. One treats roughly 1200 sqft so my neighbor is also enjoying the benefits as we live downtown. I can't rave enough about how incredible it is to enjoy my home with no more mosquitos!
