I very stupidly signed up for a subscription with Terminix because it seemed like a good idea because other people were doing it (famous last words).
Well, it's August, so I have wasp nests all over. I call Terminix to try to schedule an appointment, they can't come for a week. Unfortunately, I'm away that day, so I had to make an appointment for two weeks out.
So I call Apex, I call them at 9:00 in the morning, they're here at 10:30, take care of all wasp nests. But I still keep the appointment because I figure something might come up. Sure enough, something does, another wasp nest, but I take care of it with spray.
So on the morning of the appointment I cancel. The girl on the phone tells me that since I'm canceling late, the exterminator might come to my house and spray anyway. Say what? Where? Just randomly? Is this a threat?
I talked to probably the same female or her clone when I initially made the appointment. I told her I had wasp nests in my garage and barn. She said they could take care of the garage but expressed reservations about the barn. She asked me if the wasp nest was on my property. I patiently explained that yes, I call it my barn because it's on my property. She replied that the exterminator would have to see about that when he arrived.
The exterminator himself is very nice and I'm sure he does a great job. But I would not recommend dealing with this corporate franchise. Go for Apex, a locally owned small business that treats its clients like gold. (I'm not related to anybody in the company, by the way.) read more
