They repeatedly "guaranteed" their work, but offered no meaningful actions to back that up. We were told again and again that the situation was "under control," yet nothing ever improved. Communication was poor, and there was no clear plan or accountability between visits. Each technician seemed unaware of what the last had done. One of the most frustrating issues was how they handled the traps. Despite our repeated requests, the traps were rarely cleaned or reset properly. Rotting bait was often left untouched on the traps for days or even dumped into our garden beds -- creating an even bigger mess and drawing in more animals. It felt like no one was taking basic precautions or showing professional care. To top it off, on day one they caught a groundhog -- and then lost it due to a faulty trap. After that failure, they offered us a kill trap as a solution, but we no longer trusted them with humane or lethal methods. If they couldn't handle live trapping responsibly, there was no way we felt safe letting them escalate to kill traps. Honestly, I could have done a better job myself -- and ultimately had to. I rarely write negative reviews, but I hope this helps someone else avoid the same wasted time, stress, and money.

I have been using Apex Pest Control since I purchased my home near downtown Asheville (Montford) in 2010. I am on monthly treatments (for mosquitos, etc. in the summer, as well as other services that accommodate those treatments. They have always been very responsive, professional and accommodating with my every need. I am a real estate broker, and have suggested their services to many, many clients of mine in the past, and my clients have alway (every time) been extremely happy, as well. SO, here is where the real kicker is... I have a rental home in the same neighborhood. When purchasing the home, there was a termite bond with another company. Needless to say, we needed to keep services with that other company to keep the bond active. Because of that, we had regular pest treatments to that house as well, just to keep things simple. Last weekend, my tenants called me to let me know that there was a flea issue in the house. I wanted it addressed immediately, believing that nobody should have to deal with such and issue (they do not have pets in the house). I called our "regular" pest control company. They told us that they were very busy, but would try to fit us in. They called back about 20 minutes later and indicated that they would be there between 5:30-6:00 that evening. My tenants waited until 8:00pm before they called me to say that the company was a NO SHOW (again, not Apex). This was unacceptable to me... not even a phone call. The next morning, I talked with Jeff from Apex. I was frantic trying to get this horrible situation taken care of. He indicated that they were very backed up and that they could try to squeeze me in on the next day. I am sure that he could sense that I was very upset (not with him, but the situation and not wanting my tenants to deal with this). I told him that my tenants had their son and grandson coming in the following day, and that I was going to have to put them all up in hotel rooms because it was not right to have them stay in an infested house. Jeff called back in about 10 minutes and told me that they could be at the house in 15 minutes if I could make it available to them. They came, treated, all is well and all are happy. The end of the story is... this home was not even a home that is a regular for them. Maybe because I was/am a regular, they took that into consideration. Either way, they took care of me in a desperate situation. They cared for me when they didn't need to, and were very professional and caring. I highly recommend them.     Subject: Urgent Request to Cancel Orkin Service and Stop Improper Billing…read more To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally request the immediate cancellation of my Orkin service and to dispute the charges that have been repeatedly applied despite my attempts to cancel. For several months, I have tried in good faith to cancel my service through the Franklin, NC Orkin office located at 120 West Palmer St., Franklin, NC 28734 (phone: 828‑687‑3810). Each time I call, no one answers, and the call rolls over to the Anderson, SC office. Every month, I explain that I want to cancel. Each time, I am told that I will still be charged for the current month--even though no service has been provided--and that I must wait until after receiving service and then cancel before the 21st of the month. I have followed these instructions twice, yet my service has still not been canceled. Today, when I attempted again to cancel, I was told that canceling now would result in a $128 charge, but if I receive service, the billing will continue. In other words, I am being told I will be billed whether I receive service or not. This is unacceptable. I am requesting the following: - Immediate cancellation of my Orkin service. - No further billing of any kind. - Removal of charges for services that were never provided. At this point, the continued billing feels like a cancellation fee disguised as monthly service charges, and I do not consent to paying for services I did not receive. Please confirm in writing that my account is canceled and that no additional charges will be applied. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.

They sprayed our apartment for fleas, and it worked like a charm! Their 30-day guarantee is great for peace of mind, because we know if we see any fleas at all within that time that they'll come back free of charge. Great price and great service.     DO NOT USE THESE SCUMBAGS !! GET WOKE AND GO BROKE !!…read more I have been a loyal customer for years. They started using the "Terminix" model which means they poison your house at nauseum without a care at all for the environment - or if the method is good for you and your family. They are doubling the work load of the service people and cutting the time of scheduled visits in half. Is there anyone out there who doesn't want to be a greedy scumbag...? Anyone ?? I overlooked all of this until I just had someone just come here and lie that he did the job. He left without doing anything - because my friend was watching - and they still billed me $107.00 (for zero work). I was furious and complained that this is the same as theft -- and this morning they just called to tell me to find another company. SERIOUSLY ?! THEY SEND THEIR TRUCKS OUT WITHOUT EQUIPMENT EVERY SINGLE VISIT AND ALWAYS SAY IT WAS BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE HAD THE TRUCK THE NIGHT BEFORE. Very nice people answering the phones with no brains.
