Well they did it to me again. This time a manager of Terminix made an appointment to be at my house with a technician today. I waited all day....not a phone call, not a text and they never showed up. Terminix is just a bunch of liars. I have tried to work with them for over 8 months. I still have bed bugs.. what I don't have is my 1400.00. Honestly the Dayton, Ohio Branch is the worst branch! The management there is a joke and doesn't care about the safety of its employees or customers! Also a lot of the sales guys (Matt Chanel) there have no morals at all, lying to customers repeatedly then when they get caught in their lies by customers they push it off on the techs! I would never recommend anyone to ever work for this branch ever! I contacted Terminix for squirrels in my attic the inspector (george} came and he was more concerned with selling me insulation than the squirrel issue I repeatedly told him no he finally quoted me over 2 grand to put trap doors. clean, sanitize and a 1 yr warranty I thought that was very expensive, but George stated my attic is big plus the squirrels could chew on wires and cause a fire so for safety reasons I finally agreed and I could do monthly payments. The tech came a few days later he said he saw no signs of squirrels or droppings, but he would caulk up some holes he saw after about 30 minutes he said he was done I said what about the cleaning and sanitizing?? he said it wasn't on his work order but he would come back in a couple of days which he did he was in the attic about 10 minutes all he did was spray some sanitizer! again he said no dropping, so someone is lying cause George said it was and that it could affect the air quality in the house. So now I'm beyond pissed I emailed Terminix Corp. office and file a complaint with the BBB, after that a guy named Grant called and said he would make it right we scheduled techs to come twice both times no show no call so at this point I'm done with Terminix! don't do business with them they are not honest or reputable they charge you up and don't complete the job now I'm stuck paying for a job that wasn't done complete or to my satisfaction. I should have read these reviews first. these guys are awful. Getting a hold of the local office is nearly impossible I had to go through the Cincinnati office in order to have someone from Dayton contact me. they never set up appointments - they just show up. they put in termite baits around our house without consultation of where. they destroyed plants, skipped entire sides of buildings, left some inches above the ground and others inches below and then won't set up a time for you to meet with them. Complete waste of money. I'm currently waiting for the manager to meet me. He was supposed to be here nearly two hours ago. I took off work to meet him. This is a horribly run company. read more

I rate this company negative 50 and below even further! They have completely taken advantage of us and our situation! Enough is enough and I want my money back now! After my 7th attempt in trying to get my project completed. I am very angry right now because I should not have to waist my valuable time to chase someone down from Terminix to do their job. I am tired of the broken promises, scheduled appointments with no shows (twice now) and without having the professionalism or decency to give me a courtesy phone call as to what is going on. I am in the industry too of customer service so I get it when things happen but never in my wildest dreams would I completely ignore a client or leave them in the dark. If it were not for my clients I would be out of work, I never pass the buck and I do whatever it takes to let them know what is going on, even if I don't have the answers, at least they know I am working towards it. So, I am shocked and appalled that a well known Company such as Terminix, who according to the salesperson is voted #1 in the Nation, would even allow the type of service, or lack there of, that I am receiving to have even happen over and over and over again. Don't you know if one person is not doing their job, it's a total reflection on the entire company? I paid top dollar for this job to be completed long before now and I was assured by Terminix that it would be done. Terminix was very quick to take my money, but now that they have it, I am no longer of importance and not even worthy enough to receive a simple courtesy phone call? Regardless whether I paid $12 or $12,000 this is unacceptable for any of your clients to have to go through and I blame the top people at Terminix for not putting the right people in place to help educate their employees on the importance of customer service procedures and how to follow up and follow through! In the meantime, I continue to see issues and the mice and mouse droppings in my garage and I am furious right now because I did pay Terminix over $12,000 for a job to be done correctly and completed long before now! Where do I begin? We signed an agreement with them at the end of July and paid $320 up front to treat a Yellow Jacket infestation in our home. They were well aware that the yellow jackets were burrowing through our walls and flying around inside our house. They were supposed to come and treat it on August 1st and nobody showed up. So we called to find out what was going on and they said that our appointment was actually for the next Tuesday August 8th. Ha! This was a total lie because we put the appointment in our family calendar the day that we bought the package. If they had told us the day of their inspection that it would be MORE THAN A WEEK before they could come out, we would NOT have signed an agreement with them (and they knew that). We would have hired a company who took it seriously and would treat it immediately. Anyway, back to the debacle - a WEEK LATER (8/8) they send a guy out to treat it and I'm not sure that he ever did anything as neither my husband nor I saw him treating the house. There was no change whatsoever after his so-called treatment and more and more yellow jackets were burrowing through our walls and flying around our house. The next day the technician texts to tell me that we're going to need another treatment and he will come out and treat it later in the week. He texts me the next day and says that he can't make it that day but he's definitely coming the next day. I do not hear from him the next day at all so the following day I text him and ask if he treated our house and he told me that he did. This was another lie because when I called into their offices, the woman I spoke with said that according to the records, our house had only been treated once. So I called them last Friday and I tell them the whole sordid tale and the woman I spoke with tells me they're going to send 2 of their best, most experienced technicians to our home the very next morning (Saturday) between 10 and 12. 11:45 rolls around and I'm wondering where they are so I call into the office. The woman I spoke to this time tells me that she doesn't see any appointments set up for us but that she can have a technician come out and treat it next Monday. Mind you, my husband and I are killing anywhere from 20 to 30 yellow jackets EVERY DAY that are burrowing through our walls while we wait for Terminix to get their act together. At this point I was DONE with them. I had no reason to believe that they would EVER do what they said they were going to do and in the mean time, we are being assaulted in our home by yellow jackets, day after day. I have never worked with a more unprofessional, unresponsive and flat out dishonest company in my entire life. Knowing that yellow jackets were flying around our home, we seemed to be their very last priority and they really didn't give a damn. Take my advice and treat your issue yourself if you have yellow jackets, like we ended up having to do. Or call a company who actually does what they say they're going to instead of gaslighting you, lying to you and not solving the problem you hired them to solve. In one text exchange their technician told me that I needed to hire a beekeeper. I wish I was kidding. Still waiting on the full refund they promised because their "treatment" had no effect, whatsoever (but not sure if I will ever see it given their propensity to lie to us repeatedly). Call me crazy but I think when a client has an infestation that could actually cause them physical harm, LIKE YELLOW JACKETS, the company they hire should make them a priority. Do yourself a favor if you have yellow jackets, and just buy "Demand Duo" insecticide, put it in a garden sprayer and treat the problem yourself. There, I just saved you $320 and a significant amount of frustration dealing with TERMINIX. You're welcome. UPDATE 8/14: After we told TERMINIX to refund our money and pound sand, we decided to treat the issue ourselves (like we had any choice at this point) on 8/12. Since my husband treated where they were getting in, we have seen NO further yellow jacket activity in our home or in the area of where they were getting in. Thanks DEMAND DUO! It took you one day to accomplish what Terminix couldn't accomplish in two damn weeks. And Terminix, if you're reading this, if you fail to PROMPTLY refund the $320 you took from us for nothing, I'm filing a complaint with the BBB and then the Ohio Secretary of State's office. read more

I would give this company negative stars if I could. I have attempted to call 4 times over 3 days. Each time I call they say that the branch will call me back. There is no way to contact the branch and they do not return my calls. I have paid yearly for an exclusion contract and in 3 years, I have only seen a yearly inspector 1 time. I had to drop the pest portion of my contract because in 3 years they were unable to get an ant problem under control. Do NOT do business with this company it is a total waste of money. read more

The integrity of this place is terrible and non-existent. I live out of state and have a rental property in Dayton. I signed up for the quarterly pest control and they charged me two times but only serviced the home one time. The documentation they provided me via email to try and justify the charges for the service had my name wrong and had a forged signature. They claim I signed it, but I haven't even been in Ohio for two years. They also are trying to claim I'm on the hook for one full year of treatment (4 total charges) because I signed the contract, but again, how can I sign something when I've not been in Ohio for two years. I first met Edward who came and did a thorough inspection of this entire house inside out basement attic and gave me a very fair price with a year of additional services free as I have a termite issue. His crew came within the next day or so and did a fantastic job my hat goes off to Tyler and Donnie they answered all my questions they were professional and did a fantastic job. For one year we had the pest control and an exclusion service as we had a major mouse issue. The exclusion technician (Steve) was very good. They had personell issues during Covid so we were a little lenient with the service. It did take almost a week to get the dead things out of our crawl space that stunk last summer. 2 of the 3 technicians that sprayed did a good job. There was one in particular that just went through the motions. It was the final straw with Terminex when the technician confirmed via text would be at our house on May 8. Didn't show and fabricated a report that said he was there to spray for over 3 hours on the time log and the report looks nothing like the standard reports you get in your account. I promptly cancelled our contracts on May 10. Still have never heard from the local office, no call backs, won't pick up or VM full. Did get refund for the exclusion, but getting the runaround about the pest control. Finally disputing through credit card company, And will get attorney involved if need be as a matter of principle. I pay, you don't show and lie, that is THEFT by any definition. I continue to call customer service and can't even get through because they were all busy. Do a little research, and you can do alot of this yourself for a fraction of the cost. I would avoid them and call someone else because they have issues, At least in our local office. read more

Come to find out I am on a monthly plan without being told & there is no way out within the first year without paying a ridiculous cancellation fee. Terminex came into our home to spray for roaches that came from my neighbor the hoarders home. I am highly allergic, ,my health insurance was paying for this service. The technician barely sprayed anywhere. We were gone for four hours. ALso found a family heirloom missing and my jewelry boxes had been moved and gone through.they get no stars from us. No!, won't use Terminix again in any state I live in. We had their service for 3 years and sold the home. We continue to get e-mail and text messages about service to that property 5 months after cancelling the service and have spoken to the local manager there. He's unclear why we still get messages reflecting Terminix has us connected to that account. Terminix has miserable business practices and unresponsive account management practices that lead to bad customer service. They do not understand that the way you leave their service will reflect how or if you return. We're in a Northern Tier state that is not serviced by Terminix now but if we do ever get back to their service area they will not gain our business back. I believe they got too big for their own or their customers' own good. read more

I am very unhappy with this company. I was a customer on a regular service call plan for several years, but have recently canceled. I called and made an appointment to have my house interior sprayed and was given an appointment from 5 to 7 in the evening. ( their choice of time, not mine) The technician did not show up, but sent a text to my phone at 7:30 pm, saying he had just been there and sprayed my home's exterior. (Not what I had requested) This was impossible, because my husband and I were sitting out front on our porch the entire time. We called the technician immediately, within minutes of his text, and left a message stating that he had not been at our house. We did not receive a call back. We called him again the next morning, in an attempt to give him a chance to come out and do the job, but no response, so we called Terminix and let them know what it happened. They assured us they would take care of the problem, and the district manager would be calling us within 48 hours. It is now been 6 days, and we have not heard from this company. I'm wondering how many times that we were supposed to receive a service, and did not, but we're billed for it. This is the type of service that you have to trust they will actually show up and do the job, because you are sometimes not home when they make the routine service call. I understand that every business has employees who cut corners or lie, but then, to not to respond to a complaint as promised, showing a lack of concern for your customer, is a bad business practice. I contacted Terminix two years ago when I learned I had termites. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company. They have had to treat my house three times for termites and I am still not convinced they will be gone. I have damage on drywall that was just replaced due to termite damage after the second treatment my house had and now has new damage because terminix didn't get rid of the problem. Now they are telling me they won't repair any new damage. I have been calling the service manager and he stopped responding to me. I called customer service and they escalated me to a service coordinator. She was having the branch manager call me...he never called. I called again and was told they would have the service coordinator call me by end of day...she never called. I called the corporate office multiple times and the message says they are closed even though I call during their working hours. I have never received such poor customer service. I highly suggest using a different company for your needs! read more

Beware of the salesmen! Get a second opinion. We were scammed. The salesmen lie and say you need services you don't really need. We recently moved to the country. In November, we noticed some mice droppings in the garage, so we call Terminix. Matt came to our house and did an inspection. He told us we had a mice infestation in our attic. He said we needed to treat the problem and because our house had so many entry points we needed a whole house exclusion. He told us it would be about $2000.00 for the service. We thought that seemed very high especially around Christmas. But he said we could have 12 months no interest and if we put a down a payment... our payment every month would be $200.00. We did not want these mice to get down into the house so we absolutely agreed. We put a down payment of $521.22. When the men came out to perform the exclusion they agreed we had entry points but there was not an infestation in the attic. Then to our surprise when we received the statement from SMAC, it showed a balance of $2060.00. It was 90 days same as cash not 12 months. I called several times in Jan, Feb, and Mar questioning the charges. It appears Matt took it upon himself to add additional residential services, plus charge us $249.00 for the inspection which we never were informed about. He also never gave us copy of the paperwork. I finally got a hold of a branch manager Jim Lucas. I informed him about the situation with the financing and asked if we had such an mice infestation why had no one from Terminex been out to check the traps? Jim did provide a copy of the paperwork, refunded $592.95 for the residential treatment services we hadn't ordered, gave us free pest control for a year, and sent out another technician to look over the exclusion work. Steve was excellent. He was at the house for about an hour half redoing the exclusion work. He checked the traps and guess what...there were no mice in the traps. He also confirmed he did not see evidence of an infestation problem. SMAC is Terminix financing company. I have requested another final itemized statement to try to figure out exactly what we were charged. The first statement did not provide any details into the charges.. not to mention there are finance charges on the statement even though it was supposed to be 12 months no interest. Waiting on a new statement! Oh and we have to pay off the amount in 90 days to avoid 18% interest for a damn service we didn't even need! Day 12 still no detail statement! read more

After several failed attempts by a 1 able and orken, terminix came out quickly and completely eradicated our stink bug issue. Wish we would have used them the first time. They are quick, professional, and stand behind there products. I feel they are best pest control solution around. I will be using them in the future! read more

I had an appointment scheduled for a home treatment for fleas. It was scheduled for wednesday evening, they never showed and said they tried to contact me which I did not receive because I was at work. When I called to reschedule they said, "oh that tech had a meeting come up." Well this not being my fault I assumed they would just come out today (thursday). They said they could not come out until Tuesday the nd. We need this now as my kids have flea bites all over them. They also said that even though when I origianally scheduled my appoinment I was told I did not have to have the year contract the office which they rescheduled me through it was mandatory. Tech responded for an in between routine treatments for spider problem and did exceptional treatment that had spiders gone in 24hrs. No new issues with them in 10days since. Tech really listened to issue and formulated new treatment plan to address the issue. read more

I have not written a review on Yelp before, but feel compelled to share the dreadful experience I've had with Terminix. Basically, I'm experiencing horrible service from their office personnel. The technician seemed fine, but when it came time to schedule the service (realize we ALREADY PAID FOR A CONTRACT) I had to make 4 phone calls and have still not been able to set it up. In fact, their phones are answered by automated tellers and they quickly route you to the national call center. The national call center is GREAT, actually, and even gave me the cell phone number of the salesman (Nathan) from the local office. I tried that number and guess what? No answer...went to voice mail! I have now made 4 phone calls and still haven't gotten any closer to scheduling someone to come out and do the service we paid for. There are many similar companies in the area that I'm sure would love our business. Terminix doesn't really seem to care if they provide us good service or not. I will definitely NOT use them again and advise everyone out there to try someone else. read more

Terminex associates appear to have very little training and each one that comes to my house has their own way of doing things. I know nothing about squirrels, but one guy actually told me "Squirrels can only jump as far as the length of their body". Come on, I've seen squirrels jump tree to tree on a daily basis. It is close to impossible to get a technician to come out, it is a joke. But I paid a ton of money to get rid of the squirrels in the attic and I want them gone. Today I opened up my daughter's bedroom closet and 7 walnuts rolled out. So they have obviously penetrated from the crawl space to her closet. (she is away at college) If Terminex was doing their job, this wouldint have happened. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY. THEY HAVE MINE AND I AM SCREWED. read more
