    Combo fajitas for 2
    Dave F.

My son started our evening by asking for cheese enchiladas. Rather than visit one of our usuals, I wanted to try somewhere new. Yelp led us to Terlinguas. I ordered the combo fajitas for two and my son went for his kid's cheese enchilada. We also started with a chile con queso. I'll go in order. The chile con queso came out first. While it had good flavor, it was almost warm at best. I sent it back for re-heating. Once it came back out - thumbs up. My son gave his seal of approval for the cheese enchilada - he loved it and said he wants to come back and get it again. The fajitas - they tasted really good, were nice and hot, but the quantity was a bit disappointing. The amount they served for two was what most restaurants serve for one. At almost $41 for the combo fajitas, one would expect a bit more. There were more peppers and onions than protein. Service-wise, the staff were great! They were very attentive and very nice. The place wasn't loud and the "garage door" was open which allowed for the outdoor breeze to come in. I would try the place again, but would probably try something else aside from the fajitas.

We came by on Saturday and the service was great. The "garage" door was open and it was nice to sit by the door. We ordered the house margaritas as well as a prickly pear Margarita. They were all very tasty. For the appitizer we got the queso findido with chorizo. It lacked flavor, that's the reason for the 4 stars. The other food items we got were really good and you could tell the tortillas were made from scratch! They were so good.

    Fajitas Nachos

Our first time at this resturant. We sat down and tried the salsa great flavor, green and red salsas. The red sauce is served warm. We had the fajitas nachos as an appetizer and the fajitas meat was so tender and flavorful! Delicious. We had entrees to sample more of the menu. I did not like the cheese enchilada in the Mix plate, the cheese did not melt, there was not enough sauce and the enchilada was mostly tortilla. The tamale was good. The taco I had to dump out the filling because the taco shell was soggy on one end. The meat was flavorful. The carne guisada was good, very unique flavor. The tortillas were nice and fresh. We ambiance was good. The staff was friendly and attentive. I asked about the resturant, how long they have been there etc. He was friendly and told us it was a family business. We will be back if not for the fajitas alone (we thought they were better than a chain close by.

    Pollo poblano

Place was PACKED on Friday night. The service was on point and food was served fast. Complimentary chips and salsa. My only notes were the portions (I wish they were bigger). My pollo poblano was only served with one thin chicken breast. And that it was REALLY smoky in there--it was coming from the kitchen. They had the doors open-- maybe to let it out but it was intense. I'd be back though.

Delicious food and wonderful service! My family and I enjoyed our first visit to Terlingua's Tex-Mex Garage on a Saturday evening. The place has a charming vibe, with a seated patio and open garage doors that let in a refreshing breeze. We chose to sit inside, where the cozy interior felt just right. Our friendly waiter, Jose, was quick to greet us and took our drink orders right away. We started with chips and salsa, both of which were incredibly tasty. I ordered a large strawberry margarita, and my husband had a strawberry daiquiri -- both were fantastic! They were made with fresh strawberries, not frozen mix, making them some of the best margaritas we've ever had. My husband agreed. For our appetizers, we enjoyed a ceviche packed with shrimp. Our main courses included chicken flauta plates, street tacos, and mole enchiladas, and every bite was a delight. The homemade corn tortillas, the incredible mole sauce, and the crispy, flavorful flautas made each dish special. We also couldn't resist their homemade sopapillas -- so yummy! The portions were generous; we couldn't finish everything and took leftovers home. The service was attentive, with Jose checking in and keeping our drinks filled. We're so happy to have discovered this gem and can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious dishes.

Chile con queso with pico de gallo mixed in. Behind is what's left of the guacamole and a cheese puff

My first time at this restaurant. It was clean and welcoming. My server, Angel was very professional and would come to check on me. I ordered the queso appetizer, two enchiladas ( one chicken mole and one cheese with a red sauce- lunch portion. Both enchiladas were good! My meal included rice and I chose charro beans. The beans were flavorful! The guacamole that came with my meal was very fresh. I also had their green sauce which was so good, I ordered more to go! It was addicting! They also served a Smokey dark red sauce that was delicious too. For being a lunch special, there was plenty of food. I had to take home the queso and some of the charro beans. All in all, a delicious meal. Next time, I will bring my family.

Visited for dinner with close friends who were hosting son's graduation get-together. We chose this restaurant based on the reviews, proximity to home, and as part of a quest to patronize good family-run establishments (as opposed to chains). Terlinguas did not disappoint! Visit was quite memorable with good friends, good food/service, and good fun underpinning it. We were 7 in all, and were seated immediately upon arrival by a friendly hostess. The ubiquitous complimentary chips and salsas arrived promptly - the roasted pepper Salsa could have been spicier, while the Guac/Sour Cream one was par for the course. Asked for and received a Habanero sauce which we mixed with the other Salsas to amp up the spice level. Ordered a side of Guac, which tasted fresh but lacked oomph (low in salt and lime/tartness). Food and drinks too arrived without delay - Jalapeño Margarita and Virgin Pina Colada - huge and delicious; veggie Fajitas and Quesadillas - in deference to our vegetarian hosts. Food was fresh and sizzling (the Fajitas), plentiful, and tasty! Service by Raul and trainee, Antonio, was excellent - friendly and solicitous. Will, the smiling/friendly owner, came by to check on us - a very nice touch! Upon receiving feedback regarding the Salsas and Guac (he explained that they did have spicy Salsa on the menu, but withdrew them based on customer complaint - sad), he brought over a plate of seared Serrano, which complimented the food well. He again came by to chat and bid goodbye as we departed. Prices were reasonable for the quantity/quality on offer. A keeper in our books - plan to return to savor other menu items. Glad to have Terlinguas in our community - hope they get the patronage they deserve.

I'll start with the reservations, they use Google reserve and it was easy peasy. The parking was plentiful. When we walked in were greeted by someone opening the door for us and by the hostess. I will warn you, that if hookah smoke irks your soul, this is not the spot for you at night. You may want to go in the daytime. But we were totally okay with it. It gives the vibes of hookah/sports bar/resturant. The music was was good. We were sat right away even with me forgetting to tell them I reserved seats. The customer service was AMAZING. I never had so many people check on me. The mangers checked on us throughout the night. They genuinely cared what we thought of everything. Our hostess Kiara was on point. She made great recommendations and provided awesome service. Now to the food! So the menu is limited, but they have all the staples you would usually see at a BO resturant. We started with the seafood eggrolls. They were soo good! We tried to be bouji and eat them with a fork but we let our inner hood out and picked them thanks up! Lol! So it was entree time. From the tik tok videos we already knew we wanted the Decky which is the stuffed fish...but what we didn't know is that it was 42.00!!! So after alot of prayer we decided to split the dish and add some wings since everybody there looked like they had wings. The fish was awesome. The wings were great too and you get alot of them. If I had to give a small bit of criticism it would be to make sure the rice under the fish is smoking hot like the fish. All of the other food came out smoking! The drinks were good too. The sidecar was on point and I loved the taste of the martini. I believe they open around 5pm and close at 2am. They open earlier on Sundays for brunch. Come conformable, dress code is not strict. This spot is definitely worth a revisit when I happen to be rolling through the nawf!

The service was a bit slow for mid day but the lady was great and knowledgeable. Second time on a Friday night we tried reverse happy hour and the bar service was even slower, they barely had anything at the bar and we never got our original drinks because the margarita machine was still mixing. So they gave us frozen sidecars on the house after an hour. Speaking of the happy hour There's only $5 well shots and frozen margs included... no range at all. Negatively the nightlife isn't what I was expecting , music was inconsistent . I don't know if I was in church , a 90s R&b video or a drake concert. They played a lot of unknown music that was interrupted by notifications. I enjoyed my ability to experience but the inconsistency of this place will have to improve for a return.

Disappointed with the Music Selection at a Country Venue:…read more I want to start by acknowledging Mike from Business Customer Service for his response--it was appreciated, though not quite what I was hoping for. My girls and I enjoy a wide range of music and frequently visit hip hop, salsa, and country clubs. However, on this particular night, we intentionally chose a country club/saloon because we were in the mood to listen and dance to country music--not hip hop. If we had been looking for hip hop, there are plenty of other venues that cater to that. What was disappointing was that the music did not align with the country theme that the club advertises. From my experience and from reading other reviews, I'm clearly not the only customer who feels this way. I've visited country clubs in both California and Austin, and they stay true to their brand by playing country music exclusively. If diversification is the goal, it might be worth reconsidering how the venue is marketed because branding as a country club sets a specific expectation. A few weeks ago, a group of us visited from Austin on a Saturday and left disappointed for the same reason. We're giving it another try this Friday, hopeful that the experience will better reflect the country vibe we're looking for. If it does, I'll be more than happy to update this review with a well-deserved 5 stars.
