More like 2.5 stars, but I'll give them extra half star for super clean interior. No shade to anyone, but any "foodies" complaining about this place not being authentic Japanese cracks me up LOL What do you even expect from a place called "Teriyaki One". Do you walk into Domino's expecting Italian grandpa making authentic Neapolitan pizza? LOL This place is ok for what it is - mall style mock-Japanese fast food similar to "Sarku". It's not great, but it's acceptable as a quick cheap meal option. Chicken teriyaki special $5.95 comes with steamed veggies and white or fried rice (same price). Portion here is ok, but I think the mall places typically give you more, probably because they're super busy and they just shovel food from a mound of chicken into the container. This place was pretty empty and food was cooked to order, hence no chance of extra chicken falling into your container. Salmon & Shrimp bento box $9.95 comes with white or fried rice, 2 spring rolls, 3 fried dumplings and some salad. I wouldn't order this one again because salmon was paper thin and has 10pc baby shrimp. But I wasn't expecting a huge juicy piece of salmon for $9.95 either LOL You simply get what you pay for.

This is definitely NOT CHICKEN. I ordered the teriyaki chicken. This is definitely not chicken nor does it look like chicken or does it taste like chicken. I would never recommend you guys order here

So as I initially expected, this is just another Panda Express Knick off, AKA your random run of the meal Asian spot that you'd find at any Mall's food court. I got the fried rice, which was bland as if they left it white. I will say they made it fresh which is a plus, and that they give you a healthy portion of rice. The chicken was begging for seasoning also and was 1 notch above bland. It's like I could taste the flavor but it was a lite watered down version of teriyaki. Thank goodness for duck and soy sauce, they saved the meal smh. The lemonade or rather sugary lemon drink was very sweet and more like a sweet lemon juice drink vs actual lemonade or anything remotely close resembling lemonade. The bathroom and seating area were clean which I can't ignore and for that and plethora of duck and soy sauce available I will give them a 2.

A very 7/10 experience for me. Very clean place, fast business, and you get exactly what you expect. Pretty standard chicken teriyaki. The only thing to be improved is maybe the rice quality, it's a little dry but other than that you get what you expect from a commercial teriyaki place.

Salty sodium to a painful extreme.

This fast food Japanese style restaurant opened its doors about a month ago. Me being the foodie that I am, I had to try it. I ordered the chicken and shrimp bento box which includes fried rice, a salad, fried dumplings and two vegetable spring rolls. Warning, check your blood pressure before dining here. Thank God my blood pressure is very low! The food here is so salty with extreme amounts of sodium. I had a very hard time trying to eat and had to leave my food half eaten. Folks I am a foodie. I try different foods everywhere but their sodium is to an extreme that makes it painful to swallow. I can't and I am sorry to give them such a bad rating but this place will literally kill you. My last and only time here.

Is it possible to give this 10 stars? Because that was my experience on MOTHER'S DAY. First time…read morecoming here and it's been on my Yelp list for so long that I'm so happy I made myself the time to come here with a cousin! I made reservations about 2 weeks in advanced for 12pm and we lucked out with NJ weather and sat outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Because it was Mother's Day, they had 2 set omakase experiences to choose from. We decided to splurge and did the chef tasting. I couldn't even tell you everything I put in my mouth, but just know everything was SO fresh that the fish melted in your mouth. The owner Jo Jo came out to greet us, explained the menu to us, and even acknowledged the fact that the music outdoors was way too loud and he turned it down. He was extremely friendly and personable along with the rest of the waitstaff. The service could not have been any better. The sushi was SO fresh I literally could've eaten 50 more pieces if I didn't do dinner that night. I'm so happy that I was able to experience the tasting menu and told my husband we have to come back. The setting was intimate and small and it just had such a good vibe. Being outdoors on a beautiful day was a nice surprise. I can't say enough nice things about this place and the staff and the FOOD. I highly recommend Butterfish. Just make the reservation. You won't regret it.

The omakase experience is a must here. Forget ordering separate rolls, this is what they are known…read morefor. BYO so don't forget to bring a bottle of your favorite wine. The menu has been curated by Michelin star chefs, and the food reflected that. Expertly crafted rolls and flawless execution, you won't be disappointed. Service was spectacular. They asked at first if there were any allergies and from the on plate after plate of deliciousness. Their servers explained every roll and its ingredients. My favorite was a foie gras roll. I know... sounds weird right but this was an absolute banger. Dessert? Went for a black seasame Gelato and boy it was an absolute closer to a phenomenal meal. Trendy and hip, this place is perfect for a date night.

Strangely enough I missed trying this dish on a trip to Tokyo last year…read more I had it on the list to try but didn't get a chance given all the foodie items I had on my list. While I can't vouch for authenticity but I can vouch for a delicious bite. Sazanami Hamba-Gu is notable for their Japanese Hamburger Steak, which is a hamburger without the bun, a very popular dish in Japan. Their version was served on a platter with rice, vegetables, miso soup, and chawanmushi. The patty itself was very juicy and tender and noted on the menu as a beef and pork combination. I included some addons which made my entree far more pricer. The fried egg was a good call while the double cheese probably wasn't necessary. I got the recommended red wine demi-glacé and another with the soy onion. The red wine was better in my opinion. Also got a tonkatsu to share and while the breading was very good the pork was a little drier than other ones I've had. I'd skip the tonkatsu and stick with the Hambu-gu as that was definitely more notable. Service was friendly but the entree does take time to prepare. I'd say think twice if you are in a hurry.

Solid hambagu spot. Had this place recommended to us by a few people so gave it a shot. Walked in…read morewere able to sit almost right away on a weekday dinner. It was busy but there were a few seats here and there. Service was friendly though on the minimal side - came once to get order and then to take our trays when done. Food itself was good. We ordered hambagu and tonkatsu both of which were cooked well with good texture for the hambagu and good crisp for the pork cutlet. Ambiance is casual - not too big of a spot but didn't feel crowded. It's BYOB and parking can be an adventure on River Road so something to note.
