Teriyaki Madness is very consistent from location to location and this new location in Star is no different. The only thing a little confusing is the lobby area, as several people were standing in front of the door waiting for DoorDash or online orders, so the pathway to the cashier was blocked. We finally made our way after asking everyone if they were in line, only to be "greeted" by someone that gave the air of wanting to be anywhere else but taking our order. I was very friendly in hopes that it would lift her spirits, but no luck. Ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with brown rice and veggies, hubby ordered the same bowl but with white rice. I ordered a drink only to later find out that that Diet Pepsi is not offered at the soda fountain (booooooo!). Food took about 20 minutes to come out, but was piping hot and super fresh. The chicken was in larger chunks so a knife was needed, but cutting took little effort. The rice was perfectly cooked, as fluffy as brown rice can get. The veggies were a little overcooked, but was still full of flavor. Hubby wasn't as impressed with his rice and didn't finish. read more

Super disappointed, my son loves teriyaki and thought this would be our go to spot. The last time we came my son waited forever until he finally asked about his food and was told sorry we forgot to push your order through. They gave us a coupon for next time, tried again today it took 50 minutes for rice, vegetables and orange chicken. We finally asked what was up when people who came way after us got their food. We were told some of there equipment was broken, which I can understand But no one let us know or even said sorry about the wait when we finally got our food. read more

We visited for the first time last week. The girls taking my order were nice and helpful. We waited for about 15 minutes for our food when we were the only ones waiting for food, not fast but not terrible. We ordered 1 Large and 2 Juniors of the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. The chicken and rice were both fine, 3/5 Stars. We liked their Teriyaki Sauce and their Hot Sauce. I do wish they would cut up the chicken in smaller chunks so that I wouldn't have to with plastic forks and knives. It was about $35 with a small tip. read more

Opening day for the Star location today! I placed an online order at 3 pm, intending to pick it up at 5 pm. The app told me that they were too busy to get it ready by 5, but could do 5:15. I clicked "OK". Still, my order came up as being ready at 3:18 pm. So, I called and spoke with a young woman, who spoke with a man and over the phone told me they would change it to 5:15. I ordered the Grand Opening special: two teriyaki chicken bowls for $6 each. I show up at 5:15. At 5:20 I ask a young woman staffer about my order. She checks. A man with a ponytail (manager?; same guy that told us last week about opening day when we walked by) came up to me and asked specifics on my order. Then, he went to the receipt spike and started going through the receipts. He finally found my order and got it to me pretty quickly. I chalk it up to opening day hiccups. No big deal. The bowls had substantial chicken and were flavorful. As for the veggies, mostly cabbage with strips of carrot and a single zucchini and broccoli. That is my beef (pun intended) about Teriyaki Madness: veggies mean almost all cabbage, and I don't like that. From now on, my wife and I will order the bowls with all broccoli for $1.50 extra. Still, the staff were working hard and were still very nice, and it was opening day. They deserve some grace. We will order again. read more

I ordered the chicken breast bowl with fried rice, and two egg rolls. The egg rolls were passable, but the fried rice was of poor quality. In addition, the chicken was burnt and crispy. I couldn't eat most of the chicken, having to peel off the burnt pieces and still couldn't get rid of that charred smell. I will not be back. read more

Love that this fast casual teriyaki bowl store has come to Star. It offers a healthy alternative to fast food. We have been going to the Meridian location over the years but happy to have them so close. I use their application to order online. It is easy and as points accumulate you can use them for food discounts. I love the ability to customize these hearty bowls your way. We ordered 2 regular size chicken teriyaki bowls, one spicy with noodles as the base (yaki style=wok tossed) the other was the standard chicken teriyaki on white rice and extra chicken. The bowls were ready in 15 min. They were steaming hot and packed full of tender chicken lightly seasoned and sauced with sauteed veggies (zucchini, broccoli,Napa cabbage, and carrots). The veggies were not overcooked and the noodles and rice were perfect. They give you sides of teriyaki sauce to finish to your tasted. Mad Sauce is extra. If you get the spicy bowl you don't need the mad sauce as the spicy is plenty spicy (4 out of 5 on spice scale). I actually love the plastic bowls they use to serve the food in, no leaks and lid fits tightly (they clean up well for recycle and for future use). The standard chicken bowl is thigh meat or you can order chicken breast bowls. The thigh meat is tender, not fatty and hand trimmed. You can also order orange or katsu chicken, beef or tofu bowls customized how you want. These bowls are filling enough but they do offer a few appetizers such as crab rangoon, egg rolls and pot stickers. I enjoy the yaki style bowls which has the noodles base and the meat and veggies wok tossed together for added flavor. read more

Food is great and made to order. I absolutely love teriyaki anything, so I was extremely excited when I heard there was a teriyaki madness coming to town. The owners are some of the nicest people we have ever met. So happy we have another great place to eat here in Star! read more

Definitely good. Chicken always cooked perfectly. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because they need to use a separate person to pack orders and take orders... getting my order taken is always delayed because of this. Also, they need to get a handle on the online and door dash... they are not properly staffed for it. read more

I was skeptical when I first went in thinking it was kinda like a panda express but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing big portions. The restaurant was clean and the people were very very friendly. I live in California, but next time I come back I will definitely be going to teriyaki madness. read more

Excellent food and very fresh. They do take a little while preparing the food but it's fresh so be patient. It's worth the wait.

Not a fan of their particular teriyaki recipe. Nor is our son who visited from Alaska. He dropped in (not at our suggestion ) and came back to our place, "The worst Teriyaki I've had!". We all had a good laugh. our daughter who was also visiting thought we were all exaggerating so she and her family went up to try it out. The kids wouldn't eat it. She and her husband ate it, trying to set a better example. Please Star, bring us good food, not just someone who will lease a retail outlet. Only good thing, it's revenue for the city and a couple open chairs to something to fill the hunger pains. read more

3rd time is definitely a charm. We have enjoyed TMAD in Meridian for a few years, and were excited to learn that one was opening in Star, and lucky me, I won a year of free food for ordering when they first opened. That first order didn't go so well, but I chalked it up to new business, new employees and since I knew the potential, I gave it little mind. Our second order was downright awful, so much so that I didn't bother to eat it because it was dry and the veggies were just undercooked zucchini and one clump of the root of cabbage. Even the staff were below par and I almost gave up, but I believe in 3 strikes before walking away from a new business, because dialing things in can be challenging. I'm so glad that I gave it one more try, because our order today was absolutely the best we've ever had from any TMAD location. The meat was moist and plentiful, the veggies were amazing with a generous variety of all of the veggies, cooked perfectly. I hope this will be the norm now, because I'd love to be able to visit with confidence, knowing that we can expect the same quality with each visit, and with a year of free food coming, I'd love to keep it in Star.
