Man this has got to be the worse tasting Chinese/Japanese food restaurant of all times. The food is not good at all. I tried them years ago when they first opened and ate the Japanese cooked on the grill and it was horrible. They are still around so I figured I'd tried them again maybe they've improved.... NOT! I called to explain and the lady that answered the phone was probably the rudest person I've dealt with in a long time. My family and I love hibachi so I was very excited when this restaurant opened close to my job. I wasn't really impressed the first time I visited but decided to try it again. I definitely like it better than when it opened a couple of years ago and the price it excellent for Hibachi but the food it a little bland and the vegetable are over cooked (soggy). For this price point, I do believe it's a good deal and worth money. Is it the same quality as your favorite Hibachi restaurant, probably not, but definitely good if you need something quick for lunch. I typically get the shrimp hibachi for $7. I don't like the yum yum sauce here so I typically get the teriyaki sauce. read more

I called in a carry out and when I got back to my apartment, I noticed the vegetables were a very good quality, I have been here many many times, my very first experience with this happening. I called them and told them what happened, they had me bring my order in, they threw it away and immediately started a new order after asking me if I would rather have a refund. I told him I would just like the order please, the manager or owner I'm not sure which gave me a double order, and apologized over and over, I told him that was just something that happened, especially right after Christmas.. they were very cordial and appreciated the fact that I brought it to their attention, I will continue going there. You get a lot of food for the money. Egg rolls are amazing and crisp... I hate a soggy egg roll. Lo Mein (vegetable noodles) are good. The fried rice... not so much. Very little, if any, seasoning is added. So that's my only issue. read more

I do not understand how this business has high ratings. We ordered for our entire family today: Beef and Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, General Tso, Vegetable Egg Rolls, and Shrimp Fried Rice. The food was terrible. There was no flavor to the rice and it was an odd-colored brown (not like any fried rice we have ever seen), the sesame chicken and general tso was bland, hard, and had far too much breading, the beef and broccoli was bland with little taste. We called to request a refund as none of the food tasted fresh and we spent over $70. The manager told us to bring the food back and he would give us a refund. One plate, out of 6 plates, one was half eaten and the rest had maybe three bites out of each. When I arrived to ask for the refund, the manager opened every plate and said, "there has been a bite taken out of every one of these plates, I can't give you a refund". I insisted he told me if I brought the food back, I could receive a refund, he offered $29. My guess is he was going to try and box the food back up and try to resell it. This business will never receive my business again. read more

Overall one of the best "express" Hibachi places around. The 3 meat plate is huge and at $11.99 it's also a fantastic deal. You can choose from chicken, shrimp, beef, steak, or scallops. Plus it comes with veggies and fried rice. The chicken is my favorite with the steak a close second. The shrimp are tasty and although they use bay scallops, they give you enough to make it worth it. I'd recommend this place if you want great hibachi food without the show at a great price! read more

I just found a black beetle in my veggie fried rice after eating half of it . The cashier was very apologetic and embarrassed and gave us a full refund but clearly they need to clean their kitchen. I won't be eating here ever again. The 2 customers waiting for their food asked for a refund and then left as well. Ugh..... I wont ever look at fried rice the same again. read more

The food was good. I ate it, I enjoyed it. To be perfectly honest though, it wasn't particularly impressive. The sweet tea tasted weird and the flavor of the beef Teriyaki Entree was just alright. Go to Fuji in front of Belk, and try their beef teriyaki or beef yakisoba (noodles) and you will be much more impressed. It was relatively fast, didn't take too long, especially for a new business, but I did go on a Sunday so that might have something to do with it. I'll come back to try other dishes just so I don't make an assumption and miss out on something. The one thing I will say in their favor, that yum yum sauce is great, put it on everything. Oh, also, A/C was broken when I came in, so take it to go if you're coming in the near future. read more

Mismanaged, greasy food. I was overcharged and had to argue with the manager he was asking how he's supposed to know the order I offered to go retrieve it from the trash since the fried rice I was overcharged for was inedible. He tried hard to shove me off but I did stay until the overcharge was removed. When he gave in and refunded me the $4 he kept saying that he thought all I wanted was free food. I'm like dude I've clearly not been asking you to refund me the meal just the extra charge to switch to beef instead of shrimp (which is equal in pricing across the entire menu) that makes ZERO sense. I was unknowingly charged $4. Not asked if the upcharge was ok or that there even was one. I wasn't adding beef to shrimp which would be understandable. If it was decent food I would have left it alone but it was so oversaturated in what seemed to be old oil, there were huge chunks of just brocolli stems and certainly not $4 worth of beef. Teriyaki Express is honestly so good! I've never gotten a meal from them and been disappointed. But I do have to say, yesterday I went there with a few friends,and one of my friends accidentally spilled her food. They didn't say anything, she cleaned it up all herself, they didn't offer to refund her or give her another meal. Of course they didn't have to but she hadn't even taken a bite, and she cleaned it all up, and rice is really hard to clean up! So over all food is good but service isn't that great. read more

Everything is always good. I haven't tried the whole menu, I usually get the chicken hibachi. They also serve Chinese. The prices are reasonable about $8-$10 a person. Don't expect it to taste like the hibachi you'll get at a super nice Japanese restaurant. But for a cheaper option it's good and affordable. read more

I ordered a hibachi steak plate and hibachi chicken plate, for my mom, whom is allergic to all seafood. She ate the plate at work and started feeling funny. Turns out there were shrimp at the bottom of her "chicken" plate. She was having an allergic reaction! Thank God her place of employment has an on-site medical department.
