In the past, everything we've tried has been consistently good, and there are so many options on the menu to choose from. We decided to dine in for my mother's birthday, and while the service in terms of getting our food out was quick, the food itself was a huge miss this time. Honestly, everything we ordered fell short, which was surprising given our previous experiences. What made it more disappointing was the birthday moment. We ordered dessert and asked if they could sing happy birthday. They brought out the dessert but didn't acknowledge the birthday at all. Then, less than five minutes later, they celebrated another table by singing, which made the situation feel even worse. Overall, we left feeling really let down. Hoping this was just an off night, but it definitely didn't match what we're used to from this place.

RESTAURANT: This location has been here for several decades…read more I have not been back for quite some time, maybe over ten years. It's nice to see that not much has changed. The aesthetic inside is still very true to the Japanese culture with small Japanese status and art work on display. There is a small sushi bar at the back corner and seating are available for small group parties. I am not a fan of carpet flooring. Located next to US1 and there are plenty of parking within the shopping center. SERVICE: The owners had been the same for many years and had always been very polite, as what you would expect with the Japanese culture. We came at very slow evening and we had the place to ourselves. My son was dissappointed to find out that the bento box was only available during lunch, but the server/greeter/owner lady told us that she can make it happen for him and that just made his day. She answered all of our questions and always had a smile on her face. She was very attentive as she was serving other customers as well as it got busy. FOOD: This visit, we had the shrimp tempura entree and the red scorpio roll and a chicken katsu bento box for my son. Each entree includes a soup/salad of your choice. The food tasted just as I remember from many years back. And I am just going to say it, they have the best tempura in Homestead. The portion size is good, very authentic and delicious. The red scorpio have my favorite tempura softshell crab. It's lighter compare to the other rolls with the fresh vegetable inside minus the heavy sauces on top and it look so vibrant with the colorful masago on top. The bento box for my son included a soup as well, with a couple California rolls, tempura veggies and the chicken katsu strips. The katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Overall, this was a nice walk down the memory lane back to when I used to work across the street, we had a lovely dinner. I still believe that they are the best Japanese/sushi restaurant in Homestead. Very authentic from the service to the meal. Fairly priced and so convenient with the late hours. Can't wait to our next visit.

We sat at the bar, and from the food to the conversations with the chef, it felt like an entire experience. I've honestly been thinking about it ever since. When we finally came back to the keys for another vacation, it was the first restaurant I wanted to visit, and somehow, it was even better than I remembered. The quality of the food is exceptional. The fish is so fresh and delicate that it practically melts in your mouth, and every dish is as beautiful as it is delicious. Nothing feels ordinary or like an afterthought. After eating here multiple nights, we can honestly say you can't go wrong with anything. That consistency is what makes this place worth coming back for. If you have the chance, sit at the bar. Watching the chefs create each dish makes the experience even more special. You can see the care and artistry that go into their work, yet they make it look effortless. I definitely recommend making a reservation, as it does get busy! Beyond the incredible food, it's the people who make this place unforgettable. Everyone is so kind, down to earth, and welcoming. You can tell they truly love what they do and enjoy having you there. They take the time to talk with you, share stories, and make you feel like family. You leave feeling like you've spent the evening with friends while enjoying some of the best food you've ever had. Chef JR and Mo, thank you for sharing your talent and your stories with us. Sharome, your recommendations, wine pairings, and incredible hospitality made each visit even better. It was also so lovely to see Chloe again after remembering her from our first trip. Seeing familiar faces two years later made returning feel that much more personal. We came in Friday, loved it so much that we returned Saturday, and with our vacation ending Monday, I couldn't leave without one more dinner on Sunday. Three nights in a row, and somehow each night was better than the last. When you extend one vacation to eat somewhere again and spend the next one going back three nights in a row, that says everything. Already dreaming about our next visit!

Came here today for my second visit and had another great experience…read more We started with the shrimp tempura appetizer. It came out piping hot and was so good with the soy sauce on the side. I loved that it wasn't overloaded with batter, you actually got a generous amount of shrimp. At a lot of places, it's mostly breading, but that definitely wasn't the case here. My boyfriend and I both ordered ramen, and honestly, it was probably the best ramen I've had so far. I got the Tonkotsu ramen and it was a 10/10. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the pork was cooked perfectly! Tender, soft, and not overly fatty. I added some sriracha and it took it to the next level. My boyfriend ordered the miso ramen and really enjoyed it as well. The only downside during this visit was the fruit tea. We ordered three different drinks and they all tasted a little off. I first got the lychee fruit tea at 25% sweetness, but it honestly tasted like gardenia perfume.....No joke, I couldn't get past the first sip at all. Then tried the passion fruit tea at 50% sweetness, which was better, but it still had a strange aftertaste. My boyfriend ordered the strawberry fruit tea, and it tasted watered down. What's odd is that the fruit teas were delicious the last time i came, so maybe something was just off today. That said, the service is always great. I like that you can order either through the touchscreen kiosk or directly with the cashier. The restaurant is always clean, the atmosphere is relaxing, and it's a great place to sit, enjoy your food, and hang out. Will definitely be back!

Tasty Ramen in Cutler Bay has quickly become a neighborhood favorite. Tucked neatly into the new Publix shopping center at the intersection of Old Cutler Road and Marlin Road, it's pretty easy to miss it if you're not inside the parking lot already. The restaurant inside is relatively small, but good enough for small groups (3-4 people). I've gone alone a bunch of times, and ordered for take-out twice as much and the quality of the ramen is consistently good. The Tasty Ramen is my favorite. Broth is flavor packed and the contrast of the chicken and pork belly is delicious. Noodles are made perfectly too. I've also ordered the edamame (yummy), Korean chicken wings (so good!), gyoza (basic, but good), Lychee Tea (really tasty) and Curry Chicken Donburi (2 stars). Wasn't a huge fan of the Donburi, but to be fair, it was my first time ever trying it, so I may give it another shot, just to be absolutely sure. Service is good. The employees in the back work hard to get the food out quick so it's hot and fresh every time.
