The restaurant was crowded but the food didn't take long to come. The food portions are huge. Every thing bigger in Texas. The tropical mimosa was great. You mixed yourself. The food was delicious. The pancakes were some of the best I've tasted next to my mother's.

Finally we were seated...I was noticing the hostess did acknowledge another party several times smiling and chatting as we waited for someone to notice we been just sitting there. We are non white and ugh this is Baytown, smh. Finally realized this might be the reason! I must say it's EXPENSIVE for cold/ bad food and Horrible SERVICE. We stood waiting for a table about 6 mins or so while the hostess was passing food to other patrons/ and chatting . Finally she the hostess attended in seating my self and three others. She was not polite looked at us pissed off and seemed agitated. I must add we were the only ones in line and it was not crowded. OK , so We were finally seated. It took 20 mins or so before our order was taken. We waited for 45 minutes for our food to be given, and it was cold, not even warm! I asked the hostess also waitresses helper , for an item, yes the one who seated us ... she rolled her eyes and sighed. Clear agitation/frustrated. I told our actual waitress that not only was the hostess not hospitable (RUDE) but our food was cold after the long wait they were supposed to be cooking it. It didn't arrive hot. She said we can reheat the food and the hostess is just overwhelmed. How do you take that out on the patrons... I am paying for my services, my food... and myself and my party are the ones who suffer the wrath.. So At this time as we'd been waiting a VERY long time...we ate the cold food...and accepted the fact we were just give the worst service. For $85 for crappie food and very poor service it is what it is. Just won't ever dine here again.

They have two times of opening and I highly recommend you check the operational hours. We were the first ones there, and don't think they liked that much. They were prepared to open in my opinion. Still setting stuff out and didn't offer their options that were in the buffet style service The seating is cafeteria style also. With few private tables to choose from. The ladies serving weren't talkative nor did they offer advice for us being first time guests. Desserts weren't labeled properly. The food was hot and good, Not great. It was a good portioned and no one left hungry or dissatisfied. I would NOT come back myself, husband and kids said they would. No one visited the restroom so idk about that. I don't take any pictures because I left my phone in the car. We had chicken fried chicken plate with broccoli cheddar rice soup/casserole, and mac. Burger and fries chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and green beans. I must mention here that they offer plates certain days of the week. Not everything is available everyday. So check that also. Until we eat again....to many things here to verify before you go to bed excited about going back. The majority of patronizing is from the local refineries.

Food is served quickly, hot, and with a smile from waitresses. Only negative comment I have ever had was today for the Chicken & Dumplings, as there were plenty of dumplings, but the chicken seemed to be in short supply today. They've added some additional flare in the back with a mural of local icons and monuments, including a tribute to local celebrity Andy Petit. One of the wildest parts is that, up until recently, you could still smoke in the restaurant. I'm about 97% sure you can't anymore. The menu is full of American classics: meatloaf, hamburgers, sandwiches, and the typical breakfast staples. My buddy Jorge and I always get the breakfast special--pancakes, eggs (over medium for me, over well for him), typically with bacon and either sugar-free or regular maple syrup. It's a pretty solid deal at around $12, and it comes with a cup of coffee. The coffee is like rocket fuel. Like I said, it's a classic greasy spoon. It's definitely worth a stop if you're looking for a no-frills breakfast. While it's not my go-to for lunch in the area, you'll definitely find something to satisfy your appetite. Service is always friendly and for the most part quick. I haven't been in high traffic times in a while. At 5-7 am on Friday it's pretty slow.

She was quick with our drinks and let us look at the menu for a few more minutes. Mom had the Green Tomato BLT, the Missus had the club sammich. But enough about their meals ... I want to review my meal. Their menu lists that the burger is on a brioche bun ... check that one off of the item list. A hearty patty is also placed inside of the bun and along with it are pickles, lettuce, onion and tomato. Check and double Check. Mayo is slathered on the buns, at just the right amounts that make it taste good, but not so much that it slides the innards of the burger all over the place making the chomping experience mushy. Flavors were good, I had just hoped the patty fit the bun a little better. The ratio was a bit more bun sided than oatty sided. My fries, crinkle cut, were seasoned well. Well enough that no ketchup was needed to dip them into for additional flavor. I would have liked a bit more crispiness from a double fry, but these were toothy enough to get a decent mouth feel. The meal for the three of is was about 47.00, so inflation has also hit my hometown dining places as bad as they have hit my current home near The Woodlands. Will i return to eat there the next time I visit Mom? If she wants to go, then yes, yes I would. I would also hit it alone just for their chicken fried steak or chicken. Ciao, Darrell
