We visited Tequila's 2 two times in December, two consecutive days - December 26, 27. The atmosphere is nice, pleasantly painted walls of different colors.  The booths were comfortable and they also have tables available for seating if preferred.  Sound level was fine, even as the rooms filled with people.  On both days we arrived we were one of a couple of couples in the respective room.  As the rooms filled, up to about 12 tables of people, the sound was still manageable, and we could hear each other talking without having to raise our voices.  There were families as well as other couples on both days.  There is background music that was not overly loud or problematic. At Tequila's 2 a basket of tortilla chips (they tasted freshly made) as well as a container with seemingly freshly made picante sauce with a couple of individual cups for us to pour our sauce in to.  On both days the chips, as mentioned, seemed to be freshly made and free refills are provided.  The sauce was a very nice texture and flavor, not too spicy but a nice hint of heat so you know you are eating good stuff, and it also had free refills.  Part of what I had in my cup actually had a bit of tomato that had not been blended to add to the homemade aspect of the sauce. On both days we arrive about the same time of day, ordered the Taco Al Carvon, the Special Burrito, and one Diet Coke.  Since we enjoyed what we had the first day, we decided to get the same meals again. On December 26 we had server Javier who was very attentive without being intrusive.  He would walk by every three or so minutes and, if he saw that chips or sauce were getting low, or more napkins needed he asked if we would like some more chips and salsa, and would drop off more napkins.  He kept us filled up.  The first day was a very enjoyable event, excellent server, great experience, no problems. On December 27 we had server Lois who took our order and brought our food.  She brought additional chips and salsa if we asked for them, and napkins also when asked.  The food was again excellent and the restaurant very good.  Service was the only questionable area, especially compared to our top notch previous day experience. The prices seemed to be good for the food.  It seemed like items were made to order.  They also were satisfying.  My Special Burrito which is actually two burritos that have shredded beef in them, they have a lot of shredded beef and the beef is tender, tasty and there are some chunks of the shredded beef that help to reinforce the deliciousness of the burritos.  The cheese topping on them was a nice soft cheese, probably like their cheese dip, and it comes with a nice complement of fresh shredded lettuce, a couple of tomato slices, and about a quarter of an avocado nicely cut into about 4-5 slices. We will be returning again when we are able and may try some other items but we really enjoyed these choices. read more

If you really like old-school Mexican food that you haven't had in 20 years. You're gonna love this place. Chilli relenos are perfect, lots of good meat in every dish. The house margaritas are fantastic, you can even get them flavored strawberry if you like . As you can see by my photos, the prices are some of the best you get these days . Everything was great!! Our service was really good all the way through our visit. The restaurant itself was roomy and brightly lit with tv's to watch sports if that's your thing, but they don't ruin the feel of the place which is lively and fun. I even appreciated the room to sit while we had a short wait to be seated. The best thing was the food!! Everything my wife and I had was incredibly good. We had the salsa and chips, queso, spicy salsa, fajita quesadilla, and the choripollo. Every single bit of it was fresh and super flavorful. We have been going here every time we go to Branson. We like it because they super-size their drinks and we can hear our friends to have a conversation. The food is okay and the typical Mexican food. They spent so much money on the building that the food quality is pretty bad. I got the spinach enchiladas and they weren't warm, the tortillas were stiff and the spinach filling tasted like it was out of a can and sweet like! It was the worst Ive ever tasted. The salsa has zero flavor just a little bit of spice. The guacamole is also just as flavorless. I ordered the quesadilla deluxe with beef and the beef was cold and no flavor. Service was just as awful with my table having to ask for chips and then waters as well. Margarita was ok. read more

Ok... so this round we actually stayed for dinner.. Ps.. they moved to 4845 Gretna Rd. So if you drive to the old one and notice it is closed just drive around the corner! This round I got the enchiladas rancheros and man was it good. The cheese enchilada does not upset and you put some more pork on top and red sauce... very good and tasty! After reading reviews and rating we decided to try this place out. The service was good and our waiter was great. The few things that should be corrected are that the prices for most of the food are whited out and I asked they said they are still serving the items but couldn't tell me the price because they are making changes to the menu. I ordered the T-bone and shrimp and was brought out shirt steak. The meat was good and had good flavor so I didn't complain, but when you are expecting a T-bone there is a big difference. The house margarita was good. I also tried their top shelf margarita and it was not. It was so strong we couldn't drink it. I can't say I will be back to this place. read more

Vegan Friendly Option GREAT Veggie Fajitas which are vegan as are the refried beans. Unfortunately the rice is cooked with flesh broth. So good! To start, their chips and salsa were some of the best. Both were super fresh and tasty. We got queso as well and that was the only part that fell short. It was about the consistency of water and very hard to get onto chips but the flavor was really good so I wouldn't take any stars away. I would just get the small bowl next time instead of the large one. I had the steak street tacos that were off the menu and they were delicious. Not the best I've had but good and by far the beat value I have seen. My husband got the chicken chimichanga a-la-cart and it was super crispy and had great flavor. I would consider getting that myself next time. Their menu is very extensive and I'm sure that everything is delicious considering the quality and freshness of the food we had (minus the queso). I heard they have great jalapeno poppers and I plan to try those if we go again. read more

Ok so I really wanted to dock .5 a point down because the service was not really up to par. So let's start there. However, the food was good. I mean I wouldn't say it's the most amazing Mexican food I've ever had. It's like any other typical Mexican restaurant in my opinion. We came in a group and we got chimichangas and shrimp tacos. They were good and everyone liked their food. They seemed busy, so I don't wanna give them 3/5 because maybe they were having an off day and were short on staff? A couple of things they could've done better during our visit: - ask for refills on chips and salsa, they only gave us one small salsa container for the 4 of us. - my boyfriend asked for no beans and to substitute it with extra rice- but they put beans on his plate... and then some... all over the bottom of his food platter (he despises beans with a passion so he was not a happy camper, I mean who would be if they hated something that much ) - they forgot our guac. (They did however give it to us free of charge since they forgot) But hey, these were small petty things. I would still come back if I'm in Branson and wanting some Mexican food. Food was still good to me, so was their salsa. *shrugs I also want to note that all staff were wearing masks and all the guests who came in were wearing masks when I went. The food was some of the worst I've ever had. Extremely bland and the hamburger meat tasted like it was full of filer. It's hard to mess up Tex-Mex, but they succeeded at that. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely quick, our meals were delicious, and we received the check right when we asked. I had cheese steak tacos, with a mix of chicken and steak on the recommendation of the server. He didn't steer me wrong. They were fantastic. And I was full after 2 of the 3 that came with the order. My S.O. had the egg and chorizo burrito. It was so yummy! The burrito was huge and also came with rice and beans. The chorizo was cooked to perfection and spicy enough to be enjoyable but not overwhelming. We would definitely come back here if we were in Branson again. read more

The outside of the restaurant looked nice and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot and people waiting to be seated, so I thought it must be great. Not so much. The salsa tasted like ketchup with no spices or heat. I ordered the combo fajitas. They also had no flavor and were tough. Barely had any grilled onions and peppers with it. Just lots of bland meat with tomatoes. The refried beans and rice did have a good flavor. My son ordered the Enchiladas Suprema. The chicken one was so dry he couldn't eat it. We are from Southern CA visiting SDC. Found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try because of the good ratings. We couldn't have been more surprised at how good this was! EXCELLENT quality Mexican food! Made some of our mainstays in SOCAL not as great. What a pleasure to come all the way out to MO and find Mexican food this good. I think this restaurant may qualify for the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. The beans were not seasoned at all. The tea was old. I ordered a chalupa and it was only a raw corn tortilla with beans dumped on it, a few sprigs of lettuce, and a large glop of sour cream. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Branson, and today lived up to our expectations! We recommend this to anyone coming to Branson! My hubby had the fajitas Tequila's, and I had the Parrillada(?) Mexicana. We are both stuffed. We also ordered queso (cheese dip on the menu) and top shelf margaritas. They do not skimp on the tequila and they're reasonably priced at $12 each. The new free-standing building is very nice! We will definitely return to Tequila's 2 on our next Branson vacation. read more
