This is one of the 'ole original restaurants on the landing and for good reasons: great location, great food, great prices and great patio! Their patio overlooks the famous White River/Lake Taneycomo and the "million" dollar fountain at Branson Landing. But, if it is off season the place is huge inside with plenty of seating. I ordered the Cancun dish that had a crispy taco, beef enchilada and chicken burrito (i believe). It was a big dish of food served with rice and beans. Really good! Fun place to go with groups of friends and they make fresh guacamole at the table if interested. We sat at the bar tonight and she took really good care of us. read more

After a nice morning of shopping at Brandon Landing, we watched the marvelous water fountain show (every hour in the hour) and went into Cantina Laredo for lunch. We asked for outside/shaded seating and were shown to a nice table near the water. Our server came promptly to take our order. We had Pollo Chipotle, enchiladas, queso, & relleno w shrimp. Oh, all 3 of us in our party loved what we'd ordered. We are very well-acquainted with Tex-Mex, but this was a fresh take on that. This place continues to be ok....and solid enough for Branson anyway. Here's what I thought of their latest efforts: - Guac: Ok...but not great by any means. Lacks seasoning of the avocados. A big ample portion however. - Queso: uhm....don't get. Rotel and Velveeta is far better than this stuff. - Fajitas (beef): a good portion size....and they're ok. But this dish again, lacks a good solid seasoning and flavor base. - Chips & Salsa: This wasn't too bad...both the chip or the salsa. Salsa is thinner...but good overall flavor it had. Now, you factor in what things cost here....and it isn't a great value by any means. Decent atmosphere Cantina Laredo has. Service can be hit and miss. Cantina Laredo has a slightly fancier feel to it when you first walk in while still remaining comfortable. This restaurant has a relaxed feel and our server provided excellent customer service. After ordering our meals, salsa and chips were delivered to the table, with each one of us getting our own personal bowl. The salsa was very flavorful while the chips were perfectly crunchy. My daughter and I both ordered the Cancun and we loved it! My husband ordered the lunch combination fajitas and he said they were delicious. He commented that he had never had skirt steak that was so tender as they were here. My son ordered a bowl with rice, black beans, chicken, and cheese sauce and he devoured it. I would not recommend this restaurant. First when we were seated the chairs had bird poop on them and we asked for them to be cleaned instead the hostess just swapped one of them out. Following this welcoming experience we waited at least 20 minutes for anyone to show up and take our drink order. We ordered our meal at that same time since we had waited so long. 5 minutes later someone else showed up with drinks and then tried to rehand us menus after we had already ordered. We ordered the queso and enchiladas. The rice that came with meal was flavorless and had a chemical aftertaste. The chicken enchiladas also had no flavor. I would strongly recommend that the owners and manager revisit what they are doing here both in the quality of the food and service. read more

Solid Mexican spot! We went in on Tuesday at around 7:00 and had to wait about 25 minutes for a table. We enjoyed drinks at the bar while we waited. The table side guac was very tasty, and we also enjoyed the queso. Fajitas were sizzling and juicy. We never received tortillas for them, though. Large indoor restaurant with patio as well. Excellent! The chips are thin and crispy and the salsa has a nice level of spice. They got us right in. And our food came almost immediately. The service was super quick and really friendly. I got the Cancun special and whatever the brown sauce is (mole?) On top of beef enchilada that is serious money!! Sooo good. The tacos were really crunchy. Portions were great. And it was a good price It was under 50 bucks for two people. It's in a nice area where there's lots of things to see and do lots of shopping It walks along the riverfront. I'm a big fan of outdoor dining and Cantina Laredo did not disappoint. Our group of 31 from our church in Alabama dined at the restaurant after seeing the play Queen Ester at the Sight and Sound Theater in Branson. We had reservations so the tables were all set including chips, salsa and water. The wait staff quickly took our orders. While waiting for our meal, a beautiful Fire and Water show started just off the outdoor dining area deck. What an awesome experience while dining on the Lake Taneycomo!! My husband and I enjoyed an order of chicken fajitas which were delicious. Sorry, I forgot to get a picture of our meal. Great service and food! I ordered the beef Enchiladas. The meat was seasoned (so many in Branson aren't) and the quality was better as it was Ground Sirloin, so less grease. My Husband had the Fajitas combo and said the lunch portion was perfect. We started with the queso quacamole combo. Shout out to Juan Pablo he took good care of us! Highly recommend this place. We've been wanting to try this place for a while. It has a great view of Lake Taneycomo and we always see people out on the deck enjoying some yummy looking drinks. After being seated it took a full 20 min for our waiter to show up and then he didn't come back for our order for another 20 minutes. By this time we're really getting hungry and wondering why it's taking so long. We get our food and it's not good at all. The taste was off in my soup and my husbands tacos. How do you mess up a taco? They also gave me a dirty spoon and I had to wait so long for another one my soup was cold by the time that arrived. We will NOT be back. I'd give it a zero star if possible. Bathrooms were dirty and service was horrible. We almost walked out after 1.5 hours after asking repeatedly for our check. We wanted to eat on a patio along the riverfront at the Landing, and decided Cantina Laredo would be the best option. While it's a bit pricey compared to other Mexican restaurants, the food was all excellent and flavorful. We especially enjoyed the queso dip. Our server was attentive and constantly checking on us, which was appreciated! The patio atmosphere was nice, even if the restaurant's decor is a bit bland. This place was as fabulous in person as it looked online. The decor was beautiful - very classy and South American-inspired - with sections to quell noise from the bar and comfy booths. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Okay, on to the food! The chips and salsa were primo with thin, toasty chips and salsa with just the right consistency and spiciness. Don't skip the tableside guacamole - which was uber fresh (not over-mashed like baby food) and made to order. I had the "carnes - two tacos" (skirt steak tacos) for dinner. I was impressed with the taste, quality and presentation with fresh avocado, charred corn kernels, Monterey jack cheese - all done with a light hand. It came with flavorful black beans and fresh Mexican rice. Nothing was too salty - it's all about freshness and flavor here. They are pricy for Mexican food but you do get what you pay for. Complimentary chips and a fire roasted salsa were brought to the table...only gripe was cold chips, would prefer them to be warmed. But, the salsa itself was very zippy and tangy which I liked. For dinner I had the carne asada fajita burrito along with yellow rice and refried beans. The large flour tortilla was filled with grilled steak, refried beans, roasted poblano peppers in a wine sauce, then the whole thing topped with chili con queso. We visit here at least once a year when we come to the area. It's has always been a go to place. The entrees were still great but I swear the chips were teeth breaking the last time we came which was Aug 26. You need to go back to the lighter chips. Whatever they're using now are awful!!! We buy premium drinks and entrees. Please don't cheap out on the chips. We would like to continue coming because the atmosphere is great but I can't do those chips. I wanted a more "upscale" dining experience tonight without paying a high price for it. Cantina Laredo fit perfect. Nice tables and booths. Comfortable surroundings. Nice view of the "lake". The waitress knew her menu well. Drinks came out quickly and were good. Chips and salsa were really good. Not too salty and thin and crispy. The salsa had amazing flavor without being too spicy. A hard combination to get correct. I had tacos piscado. Mahi-mahi is a very difficult fish to cook and maintain the flavor. Most cooks want to bread and deep fry it removing all the flavor. This chef did it correctly! Cudos! No breading. Wonderful flavor throughout and the mango salsa was a great finishing touch. The food was great, service was awesome and the ambiance was wonderful. I had the guacamole and it was so fresh and yummy! Definitely if you like chunky guacamole you should get it! I had the Puerto Vallarta for my entree. It was also fresh tasting. It has a cheese enchilada as part of it and it did have way too many raw onions in it for me but they were easy to swipe out. Decent Tex-Mex pretty dang far from the border. Fantastic location; right on the water in the heart of Branson Landing! The tables outside have great river views, and our weather was perfect to enjoy it! Queso and chips were great, and the salsa was pretty good. The Steak Tacos were super-tasty, and so were the Pollo Avocado Tacos! Big hits! The regular margarita (Casa Rita) was spot-on, but the Passion Fruit Margarita was heavy on synthetic flavors - and simply too sweet to drink. (It tasted like they put too many scoops of red Koolaide in the mix.). Service was average. Pretty good Tex-Mex for MO! read more

Haven't been to this restaurant in a few years, so decided to give it another try. Overall, the food was definitely better than last time. Ended up trying out the chicken fajitas. The chicken had good seasoning to it and it was also decent quality. Also tried out the Mexican Apple Pie. It was just a normal pie with ice cream and placed on a hot skillet (so the apple pie looked kind of melted). It tasted great. Biggest problem with this restaurant was service. Not only did it take over 45 minutes for my food to come out, but the appetizer I got (the ceviche) came out with the food (which didn't make it much of an appetizer). Also, the ceviche just tasted like some fish with lemon on it. It wasn't really good at all. Overall, while the restaurant has improved a little bit from my last visit, there are still places where it can improve. read more

Our server made guacamole at the table side and it was so good. Their house salsa was very flavorful! We ordered a dish that had camerones, mushrooms and green peppers with cheese wrapped in a poblano pepper and topped with a flank steak and chimmichurri sauce. The flavors made our mouths so happy! The portion sizes are huge. Two people can absolutely share an entree. If I could give 0 stars I think I would. We arrived about 8:30 on a Monday night. Not really greeted by the host but did take us to a table. The table had been wiped off but not reset for the next guests (us). The table next to us had been. Our server introduced himself as Aaron, was hard to understand since he seemed to be talking to us as he looked around the rest of the room. Through out the evening he seemed to be wondering around the restaurant with little purpose and not stopping to check on his tables. The food was "just ok" nothing special. At the end of our meal the evening took a HORRIBLE turn with a manager on duty. He stopped by asking how dinner was. As we started to answer he started to walk away. Since we said it was JUST OK he stopped. He asked what was wrong. Ad my husband tried explaining he kept interrupting and kept saying phrases like " I need to know so I can coach your server... we are short handed... we only had 4 servers for the entire restaurant. But yet would not stop talking to hear what was wrong. After a bit we finally were able to get him to stop, explained what we experienced and he walked away. He immediately had the server at the host stand and must have been explaining to Aaron what we had said. As we were walking out, he stopped us and made Aaron apologize for our server. He even stopped us to tell us that Aaron was apologizing. Bot only do I feel that was unprofessional, it was also rude to another level!! I asked for the general manager phone # and was told he was the gm. His co.ment was to come back. Because of HIS BEHAVIOR WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!
