Good Mexican food, service was excellent. The peach cobbler was good too. It's a small restaurant but definitely worth the stop.

Sunset Grill - Mexican Coffee (my new favorite drink)

I love breakfast! And Sunset Grill delivered. The place was packed to the limit, yet somehow the…read moreservice and quality were outstanding. Every time, whether sweet or savory was delicious and I enjoyed the eggs and sausage. The interior is lovely and neat, with enough space to sit comfortable. The classic breakfast was not only comforting, but done well. With the quantity being well worth the cost and wait time, which was surprisingly not too long. A good spot to grab a bite or many!

I had see it recommended by so many people and I'm happy to report that it lived up to the hype (and still impressed me)! NOTES: - Reservations: no... walk in only - Parking: a few spots on the side of the building but free street parking nearby as well - Closed on Wednesday THE HIGHS: - Our server, Kevin, was PHENOMENAL... he was friendly but fast and efficient! - Coffee was strong and refilled constantly - Food came out quickly and everything was fresh - Not a single bad bite... everything was delicious! THE LOWS: - I wish I had more stomach space to try other items! THE PRICE: An absolute STEAL for how good the food is! - Country Biscuit and Sausage Gravy ($13.50 + $1 for cheese added to scrambled eggs) - Josephine ($13) - Short Stack Pancake ($6) - Biscuit ($2.50) - Side of Grits ($4) The total was $44.50 after tax ($3.30) and a credit card processing fee ($1.20) but before tip. (We also got coffee but weren't charged for it) BEST BITES: - Josephine (biscuit was thick and soft, egg was fried perfectly, brie cheese was creamy and delicious, honey ham added the perfect savory element, and the fig preserves added a nice touch of sweetness) - Pancakes (thick and fluffy... everything you'd want them to be) - Grits (simple but delicious... I've had a lot of grits and these were the perfect texture) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to Sunset Grill after seeing it recommended by so many people... it was a must-try while in Fredericksburg and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip! The service was fantastic, the prices are affordable, and the food is top-tier for comfort breakfast. I already can't wait to come back and will recommend it to everyone I know visiting Fredericksburg!

We had huevos Ranchos (only picture taken), mijas, and pancake breakfast. Everything was outstanding, served promptly and food was nice and warm and DELICIOUS. Our coffee was delicious and our cup was never empty. Our waitresses was always inquiring if we needed anything. We never had to ask for anything, she would come by to see if there was anything else. The establishment, restroom, and parking lot were clean. I highly recommend this local restaurant. I am looking forward to go again to try something different.

Adelitas is a great local Mexican / Texican food mom and pop style restaurant. I arrived there for…read morelunch. This is definitely a locals restaurant and not a touristy place. The parking spaces in front are limited, but there is street parking. I was by myself and took a seat over to the side. There is one big dining room with tables along the walls and in the center. The kitchen and restrooms are in the back. This is a family style restaurant, with just a few decorations like a mural of a Mexican scene on one wall. Everything appeared clean as far as I could see. My server was pleasant and brought me some chips and salsa. Chips are the typical thin American style. The salsa is medium spicy, tomatoey and zipped in a blender. I ordered the "guiso plate" and was told I could choose between hand made flour or store-bought corn tortillas. I prefer corn, so I was promptly served the carne guisada along with corn tortillas (which were quite good). The carne guisada had more of an American gravy texture and taste than most carne guisada I have had in Mexico. But I slathered the salsa over it and that pepped it up. This is not a trendy place nor super fancy, but you can find good food and pleasant service. As I left I requested some iced tea to go, and they were happy to oblige, and that was nice as I had a long drive ahead of me. I would go back when I have occasion to go through Ballinger.

On our "179th Month-i-versary", we decided to have Breakfast at our favorite place right down the…read morestreet, Kozy Kitchen. Arrived, they had lots of cars & trucks parked in their lot. I say cars & trucks because this is West Texas, and just about everyone has a truck, except us. We did, and we still should, but that's another story, and I want to keep this review short like my others. Went inside and were told to sit anywhere you want. I guess they really didn't mean that because I sat in the Kitchen, and they kind of frowned. (hehe) That's when we grabbed a booth. Our Server, Norma, came over and took our drink order. Coffee with creamer for me and a glass of water with lemon for Nancy. We looked over the menu as if we didn't know what we wanted, but we did. When Norma returned with our drinks, we placed our order. My Wife is going with her standard, "Two-Egg Cheese Omelet, with Hash Browns and Wheat Bread. I am going with the same thing but having their Biscuits instead. While we waited for our food, I enjoyed some goooood Coffee with French Vanilla Creamer. Kozy Kitchen makes good coffee, not the weak kind you get at some other restaurants. Soon our Cheese Omelets arrived, and they looked delicious. The Hash Browns are prepared just the way we like'em, golden brown on the outer and potato-eee on the inner. The Two Cheese Omelet is also prepared perfectly with lots of Cheese. My Wife's Wheat Bread is toasted with a nice amount of melty butter on it. My Biscuits look different than what they served before. My Wife said they look more like Muffins. I spread lots of butter on one and took my first bite. They are, in fact, "Biscuits", nice-n-flaky inside with a golden-brown outer edge. The top, one could say, looks like a Muffin, but it does taste like a Biscuit. Also added some Strawberry Jam to the Biscuits. I drizzled some Cholula Hot Sauce on top of my Cheese Omelet, which brings out the flavor of tasty heat. That's some mighty good stuff. We both enjoyed our Cheese Omelets, and I ate all of mine and finished up my Wife's Hash Browns, with some added Cholula Hot Sauce. Our Server, Norma, earned the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award and loved it. She showed us the other one she has that I gave her before. Kozy Kitchen is one of the Best Breakfast places in San Angelo, and we Love coming here. They have more than just breakfast, and it's all good. (maybe next time they will let me sit in the kitchen) On the way home, we enjoyed another Beautiful (but getting hot) day in San Angelo, TX.
