I did scope the sushi bar, but nothing was a winner for me. I really had a hard time finding anything worth eating but picked up some sautéed vegetables and tried different varieties of chicken. Some items were not worth eating again, but overall, it is a buffet. Had issues trying to get some cream for my tea. RACIST ESTABLISHMENT from the moment I arrived to celebrate my nephews birthday I was singled out. (I did not arrive with the party) All in all, I didn't consume any food and the manager had to refund because that's what he promised. I asked if he usually experiences people not paying and actually eating? He replied no, but was so rude and treated me as if I stole something even though I told him I wasn't here to eat but to support my nephew for his party in which I still paid to get in. Came today with my family. The price is great for all you can eat and nothing was terrible. I had two plates and noticed that most people around us did on average, two plates and dessert. The staff was very friendly and pleasant ( the reason for the 4 stars). Food wise, if you don't eat shellfish or pork, it can be a bit limited in options for you. It isn't vegetarian friendly at all. For the Hibachi grill, if you eat halal don't order from the area. They don't separate the pork and non pork orders to different grills. No kosher items available. The dessert section is limited but there's plenty of space for decent sized groups. read more

Teppanyaki Grill & Buffet has been my go to Buffet since my doctors moved to Oxon Hill years ago. They are better and cheaper than what has become Rio in Marlow Heights and both buffets closer to Forestville had already closed. I am medically required to prefer non-seafood and find most of the negative reviews are randomized with other places or from someone who never even looked at the food and got the location right. I have almost never been disappointed because I look at the food before I take it. Not everything looks good to me every time in any buffet. Stopped by for an impromptu lunch with a friend and we really enjoyed it. The place was clean. The bathroom was clean. The food was pretty good. We started out with the Mongolian Grill where you pick out the ingredients and the chef cooks it right in front of you. My mainson that plate were Beef and Shrimp Also added a bunch of vegetables. Overall it was delicious. Later I tried 3 different kinds of shrimp and also clams. The shrimp was great. I also tried the different types of chicken and beef. The main courses were great. I wasn't impressed with the fruit as they didn't have much flavor. On desserts, i think the best is the almond chocolate chip cookies and the Hershey's Ice Cream. For the ice cream grab a spoon from the soup area and you are in business. I also tried the rolled cake and strawberry cream. Had a slice of chocolate cake too. I went back here for the first time since 2016 back in 2021 after the pandemic kind of lifted, and it was alright but a little down from the period I used to go a lot. It's gotten worse and the cleanliness and quality has continued to deteriorate. Earlier this year they got rid of the eel and tuna sushi, and the sushi now looks and tastes old or dried out. The salmon tasted funny, some was leathery/dried, the rice on the rolls broke apart. The plates of sushi are covered in water droplets, either like they've been sprayed to keep them moist or developed condensation from being refrigerated overnight, which I'm almost certain some of them have been. The sushi guy sits and eats snacks and looks at his phone at a table on the customer side of the sushi bar and he looks at you every time you go over there. Not very nice. The eel sushi was one of my favorite things here. The sushi pieces all used to have little sauce drizzles and sesame seed garnishes, and there was salmon, tuna, tilapia, and eel nigiri plus all the regular California roll variations and I think a spicy tuna or salmon roll. It was really nice and added a lot of value to the place. If anyone in the restaurant is reading this, please, step up the quality of the sushi bar. The rest of the food is still good if you come on a busy night, but there are a lot of slow nights and as with all these places the food is often old/dried out/soggy/not refilled on those nights. The hibachi is probably the highlight, the grill cook is really good and the grill is hot, the food comes out sizzled and a little crispy on some of the edges. They don't drown it in sweet sauce or oil, it comes out like pretty good stir-fry. Back in 2015/2016 they had actual ribeye steaks on the hibachi bar - very thin low-grade ones that the grill cook would cut up. But it was better meat than the tough beef they have now. Most of the regular steam-table dishes are the same - shoutout to the octopus salad, black pepper chicken, lo mein, Chinese doughnut, pretty decent chicken wings, properly cooked broccoli in chicken and broccoli (blanched and a little crunchy, just like at a good takeout place.) I really like this place and I want to like it as much as I used to. Bring back the cheapo thin ribeyes at the hibachi, bring back the eel and step up the sushi game. Still a good value and overall a fine buffet especially on a Friday night or weekend, but not as good or as good a value as it used to be. read more

I went to the lunch buffet around 1pm today with my family. We were 8 (5 adults & 3 kids ages 8, 11 and 11) in total. The lady rushed us and said our bill was $259. I didn't question it because there were others waiting in line behind me. The food was nice, yes and we liked the ambiance but I'm back home still calculating how it ended up at $259. Stopped by for lunch with my family and noticed this place is not the same it used to be. The strong smell of wet carpet is too hard to miss. The walls and food areas are unclean and Unmaintained. My son helped himself to some oysters and when he was about to eat it he saw a worm moving in his oyster. Which I immediately took from him. When I called the waitress she try to snatch it from me when I refused and pulled out my phone she went to get the manager. The manager came to try to get the oyster from me as well. What he offered us was to reimburse the money for the meals but we had to leave. But since we had started eating he can only reimburse me for 1 meal. ( the meal with the insect/bug). Smh we decided to just finish out bad experience with a plate of fruit. Which had hair in it also. So decided to get shrimp with butter. Which the butter had trash floating in it. They so close at 9:30 but that was more than enough time for us to eat our food. While using the restroom I realized that a guy may have been n the stall next to me. The restaurant is huge, decorated well with an enormous three row Buffet then you'll find the Hibachi Grill with a variety for your plate. My pictures don't do this place Justice accept the receipt which shows how low the Dinner price was. Finding salmon on the buffet along with a variety of other meals was better-than-expected! Of course after dinner desserts: cakes, ice cream cups and cookies made for quite an after-dinner treat. Staff seemed concerned enough for the customers interest to attend to every need. Plus the place is so well decorated except for the restrooms which have graffiti kept in good taste. My photos don't do this place enough Justice except the photos showing the receipt's price. I've been there several times in the past but my most recent visit was scary. I got to the restaurant just before lunch ended. Who knew that when you go to a buffet at lunch and they start putting dinner items out, you can't eat any of that? Items aren't labeled lunch or dinner. Well that happened at Teppanyaki in Lanham, MD. The manager walked over to the table and snatched the plates of "dinner food" off the table and went back towards the buffet. I pray he didn't put it back on the line. I've never been so embarrassed in my life as I watched him do this to a family at the table next to me and they had several small children with them. Came here a few times always been a bit pricey for the MID food they have, but never had an issue till today, me and 2 of my co workers went to dine in, when we were leaving one of of them was still eating a ice cream point is they stopped us and got very upset at the fact that he was still eating it, thru made a scene and then proceeded to make him sit back down just to finish it, even when he offered to pay for it. First, they are charging full price, their tab came out expensive. Second, they have fewer food variety to choose from. Third, since you no longer can serve yourself, there is someone that will be doing that for you. But they fill up your plate with one item! Like sheesh, do you really want to be eating a plate full of only rice, pasta, or fries ? When my sister asked for fries, they gave her mountains of it. Like seriously, they must be doing it so customers won't get any other foods or something. I came here for lunch on Sunday, and apparently on Sundays, they charge dinner price and not the lunch price. So I paid my $10 (only $3 more than the lunch price, so it didn't really upset me), still a very nice deal for an all-you-can-eat buffet! I showed my waitress my receipt and she sat me at a booth. I strolled around the different buffet tables to get an idea of what kind of food they offered. I was pretty much overwhelmed by their offerings: from Chinese to Japanese to Korean to American...even their own sushi bar and hibachi station! Plus, at least 4 different kinds of cakes, other small dessert pastries/cookies, ice cream, fruits, salads, etc etc etc. I could go on and on, but my pictures should be able to explain better than I can in words. In the end, I can definitely say it was worth the 20-25 minute trip from College Park to stuff my face in tons and tons of food. While some of the food were too salty or too greasy, the food here is MUCH better than the food at some of the other buffets I've been to. Check your mail (or even online) for coupons (like $1 off the Lunch Buffet or $1.50 off the Dinner Buffet). I brought the $1 off for Lunch Buffet coupon today without realizing they charge the Dinner Buffet price on Sundays. I honestly explained to the nice cashier my situation and asked her if she could apply the $1.50 off Dinner Buffet coupon, even though I only brought the $1 off Lunch Buffet coupon, and she gave me the discount! I can not stress enough how much I dislike buffets! I would never have gone to this restaurant if it weren't for a family member's birthday dinner. We arrived at 3 on a Sunday afternoon and it was PACKED!!!! We waited in line for at least 20 - 25 minutes to pay to enter. I believe the price was $15, which included the gratuity. They have a "party room" in the rear of the restaurant (which is where we sat) that holds several tables for people that reserve them for special events. As we finally walked into the restaurant it was made very clear to me once again why I loathe buffets. Perhaps it's the people scrambling to fill their plates up with food that they're either not going to eat or don't really need to eat, or maybe it's the people hovering over the food trying to decide what they want to eat, or perhaps it could be the fact that most people always "want to get their money's worth" and try to stuff themselves to death. Any way you slice it, buffets don't impress me. Sure, this restaurant has a hibachi grill, fresh sushi and a large variety of foods to choose from, but out of the 85 dishes they offer, how many are really good and makes you want to come back for more? Well, the items I chose were sub-par. I can't even elaborate on the items I decided on because they were unmemorable. It was hot inside and the fact that everyone in the city of Lanham apparently decided to dine at this restaurant on the same day, didn't make it any better. Everyone was crammed into this place like sardines and they seemed to love it. The servers would come around every now and then to sling your beverages to you. Saw a roach on the wall and I was immediately turned off from this place and haven't gone back since. We came for the weekday lunch buffet, and holy lunch buffet, Batman! $7.49 for a weekday lunch buffet, and they had a very full spread! We went on a Saturday and it went up a whopping .50; 7.99 for a weekend lunch buffet! They had your favorites, general tso's, black pepper chicken, lo mein, chicken broccoli, your American fare, pizza, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, chicken wings, lots of seafood, and lots of dessert options. They even had their own sushi, hibachi area, and salad bar. Maybe I'm just nostalgic for my childhood cafeteria days, but their chicken nuggets are SO BOMB. The service was still on point, but the food was MEH. The desserts were stale, the fruits weren't fresh, and everything just seemed so greasy. The sushi rolls were still pretty good, but sometimes at the end I kinda iffy as to how fresh they were since it was so cheap... I guess the only reason why I'd come back again is because of their super cheap price and their ice cream is actually quite yummy. My bf did not mind the meat at all being the meat lover that he is, so if you love fried chicken, ribs, beef and etc, it's a bargain. Other than that, sad story. read more
