I've always been into the teppanyaki table thing, that if a Japanese restaurant I'm going to has it, I get extra excited! But you usually only get that in the big authentic Japanese places like Kimpura, so I thought it was pretty cool to find the same kind of setup in an SM food court of all places! Of course, this is SM Aura's Food on Four so it's not exactly your average food court, hahaha.
Teppanyaki Brothers has a bar-type thing going on where you just sit around the open kitchen/counter. It's kinda like how streetside vendors/eateries in Japan actually are, so it's pretty novel. You immediately get attracted by it. So you grab a seat, place your order, and then watch them cook right in front of you! They have a bunch of Teppanyaki Sets that you won't go wrong with as they already come with your main teppan-cooked meat (beef/chicken/salmon, etc.), veggies, rice, and miso soup. It's not especially great-tasting, and here's where the "authentic Japanese" falls short (tastes pretty much like your run of the mill Tokyo Tokyo but slightly better), but it's still filling and a solid fast-food type Japanese option.
You might just smell like your food after eating, lol. read more
