We even eventually secured a hard money line of credit...a lot of common things beginners do to learn the real estate business. We weren't getting a lot of traction finding the right deals or direction for our business at first, so I sought more expertise through an alumni mentoring program run by some friends in a business club I was part of at DePaul - this is how I was introduced to Justin. Since meeting Justin, he has helped us and mentored us in countless ways; both in business and in life. From a business perspective, he's taught us everything we know about turnkey investments and trained us in his processes and business model. First, from giving us an opportunity to gain meaningful experience by letting us manage one of his own rehabs, to later getting us started on our own deals. He was always there with support and advice free of charge. Not to mention discounts and resources through his vendors and relationships. He's done a great job of showing us the way and letting us learn on our own while helping us avoid the major pitfalls. I am on disability so I didn't have the extra money to repair the rental. The owner Justin has been a tremendous help in not only helping to repair one of our units out of his own pocket, but in finding a lawyer and putting up the money to litigate. Being out of state is scary in not knowing who you can trust. I think it is rare that a person shows integrity in the way Justin has treated myself and my family even after the sale.

The "contractors" that did the repairs were unprofessional, caused more damages to personal property, Kevin accused me of being deceptive because my photos were not "time stamped". I have a claim in with my renters insurance and neither my insurance company nor myself can get a response from anyone at REI. I've asked REI to please respond. Not to mention I found this Google review today. Ed Crespo is the manager in charge of REI. But apparently he likes to make reviews on google and pretend to be a tenant. Other tenants have had issues with them as well and action needs to be taken. If I didn't have to give them at least one star to post this, I would give them none.

To say they are slum lords that would be too lenient. They are the absolute worst of the worst …read more They do not care about their tenants, only the money . You can put in maintenance request and they will mark them as completed without ever doing the work . You have to get outside agencies involved in order for them to repair anything . Then, when they do repair , if that is what you call it, it's poorly done . It's just enough for them to pass inspections. They also violate your rights but failing to give you notice and enter your residence without proper 48 hour notice . They talk extremely horrible about their CHA tenants . Arthur Stewart believes he is the smartest person in the room and likes to try and intimidate and bully you . You must KNOW your rights with a company like this . I went without heat in my bathroom with small children all winter . I was told that it was not a requirement so, therefore, they were not putting any heat in the bathroom . Yet, I am sure in their homes , they shower and bathe comfortably. None of the wiring was done correctly as I was told by the city inspector ( yes I had to call the city on them). I was informed the outlets could spark and start a fire at any moment . Then, my front porch was completely broken up for months . They finally send their maintenance man in to fix it , but when do they come ? When it's raining . They also decided to paint the stairs when it was raining without my knowledge and or notice and also failing to provide any sign indicating the stairs were wet or slippery causing my son to slip on the stairs and hurt himself (lawsuit pending ) . With all of the complaints , I don't see how they are still operating ! They have a house on Loomis , they haven't done any work to in years that is in absolutely deplorable conditions. Then, don't get me started on their plumbers. They will come out and charge the current tenant for what the previous tenant had done but they failed to fix before moving the next person in. Also, what is a simple rodding job; they will instead lie and say the toilet amongst other things need to be replaced due. They charge the tenant as they say the tenant is the one that stuffed the toilet with hygiene products etc . Yet, allow me to remind you all , they NEVER fixed the issue from the previous tenants or the ones before that. They sit in that office collecting money and getting paid by these owners for absolutely nothing . They are slum lords and scammers!

The excuse given was property taxes which is ridiculous. Worst of all they had no organized way of informing the tenants.
