One of my favorite spots to stop along i90! Always a fantastic experience from start to finish for lunch or dinner. The pizza was outstanding--perfectly blistered crust, generous toppings, and an incredible balance of flavors. The combination of savory toppings, house smoked pulled pork, bourbon BBQ sauce, pickled red onion and fresh pineapple created a unique sweet-and-tangy bite that worked surprisingly well. Every slice was loaded and cooked to perfection. The whiskey selection was equally impressive and the wine is always lovely. Whether you're a casual whiskey drinker or a true enthusiast, the bar offers plenty of options to explore. Pairing a great pour with exceptional food while enjoying a wonder view always makes for an unforgettable meal! We finished with dessert, and it absolutely delivered. The Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler was to die for and the vanilla gelato was the perfect complement. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxed, with great service and beautiful views. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours enjoying good food, good whiskey, and good company. Highly recommend for any occasion! No water, no bread.... nothing. We ordered two appetizers to eat before our meal and one appetizer came after about 20 minutes, the other came after our dinners arrived. The pan seared scallops as the starter and the duck were excellent. We shared a starter and an entree and it was totally enough food and they were very willing to split. We went in November so the pizzas they are famous for were not available. The information on the website is outdated, so there is no happy hour at the restaurant or the bar and you don't need to have dinner reservations to get a seat. Just finished my second visit to Cave B Condos and Lake Houses and have had the opportunity to eat at Tendrils four times, each visit was excellent. Had the pleasure of having Daylan wait on me each time, three times in the Whiskey Bar and once at the bar in the main restaurant. Had four different meals, each one excellent. My favorite has to be the chicken cordon bleu. I love my whiskey drinks, especially Old Fashions and Daylan knows how to make them. Visited Tendrils for a romantic dinner getaway with my husband and then again for lunch the next day. Dinner was by far better than lunch. We enjoyed their stuffed pork and buttered halibut with both the lemon blueberry cheesecake gelato and Easter carrot cake. I got the wine flight and he got the old fashioned, which he liked. We would recommend all of the above, although the cake was pretty dry. Lunch was very mediocre. We ordered the tenderloin tacos, burger with fries, Bloody Mary, and salsa and guacamole. My favorite was the chip appetizer, which were thick cut. Overall, it was nice to have a beautifully situated restaurant on the premise but the food wasn't the highlight in my opinion. read more

Came by for drinks and food. Tendril is a close walk if you're camping at at the amphitheater- assuming you're here for a show at the gorge! Regardless I came and even though it was crowded Tristan went out of his way to make sure we were set. It's a beautiful view and very walkable. I will warn it was an hour wait for food but Tristan made sure our drinks were filled. If you're staying near by definitely swing by for a drink - I will say the food is overpriced but service and view are great. read more

Solid 4 stars, bordering on 5. Food was really quite good, though as a self-described home chef I would have presented things a little bit differently to elevate the dish. That being said, everything was prepared well and tasted very good. Breakfast / brunch is arguably a better deal than dinner price-wise. Drinks are a bit expensive for what they are, but again you're paying for the convenience of just being able to walk into a nice restaurant at your resort. The views are, of course, amazing. Service is not bad. Can feel slightly slow to get seated, but waiters are attentive and food and drinks come out on time. Wait staff are friendly and they do have specials which are not on the menu, which we've tried and can verify to be good dishes with good ingredients. Presentation and some finishing touches on the dishes aside, the restaurant is still a recommendation. It's pricy (high end even by Seattle standards) but there's not a better alternative within 1.5 hrs distance from the resort. read more

This was our first time staying at the Cave B resort, so we had to try the Cave B winery and Tendrils restaurant. The restaurant is located inside the Cave B Inn across from the Spa. I would highly recommend calling ahead and making reservations since the restaurant is not very large. We made reservations for 5:30, but showed up at 5p following a wonderful wine tasting. They were able to accommodate us, but the restaurant was already busy. The views from the restaurant are spectacular. Tip....walk outside to the balcony and grab a photo of the setting Sun. The meal rotates but has a nice selection of appetizers, a soup of the day, salads, main course and desserts. They also have a small wine list and full bar options. The salads are not entree sized for reference. Our service was wonderful, although we got a chuckle with our waiter after he asked if we wanted to order our main courses about 10 minutes we had already it. We ordered the mushroom soup, Caesar salad, the butternut pastry and the tenderloin steak. We wanted to try one of the amazing desserts, but we're just too full! Everything was spectacular...piping hot, cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The soup had a variety of mushrooms and a smooth broth. The Caesar was 6 wide leaves with drops of dressing and a side of sliced boiled egg. The tenderloin while pricey was perfectly cooked and melted in your mouth. We booked 3 nights at a condo in walking distance to the resort and restaurant and were kicking ourselves that we waited until the second night to check it out since we ended up there the third night - no hesitation. At first I was worried because the reviews weren't as high as I imagined they'd be but our experience was 5 star. Our service was great; attentive, helpful & kind. We ate the wedge salad (multiple times), the poke, the burger (!!!), and the cheesecake. Wine list was ample. Craft cocktails were on point (the blood orange margarita - wow). Yes, the prices are higher but this isn't a place you come to enjoy on the cheap. The prices match the quality of the food and the overall experience at being in one of the most famous gorges in the world. We learned a lot about the history of the resort, as well as current ownership, and things seem to be very much on the upswing; greater attention to detail; lots of planning for continuing to evolve this haven into the unforgettable experience that it already is; and genuine interest in customer experience. We will return here again and again. It's worth it. Don't let the other reviews dissuade you. Hosting and operating a place of this caliber in the middle of practically nothing is a tremendous feat and they are certainly doing it well now. read more

Stayed at the Sagecliffee, so ate here out of convenience without reading reviews. Service was excellent, and yes slow-- but in a great, relaxed way. Korean BBQ cauliflower was a delicious and fun start, followed by lobster bisque (soup of the day) and the bacon wrapped meatloaf. All were presented well and very good. Prices match the location and ambiance, and wine by the glass and bottle were reasonable. Would absolutely recommend dining at Tendrils. read more

Do not eat here. The service is so helpless and inexperienced it is excruciating to endure. There are more experienced and helpful servers behind the counter at any fast food place. The staff here missed the memo that said "the customer should, with your help, actually enjoy their meal. No joke, our server could not have cared less about our enjoyment or lack thereof. There were plenty of tables available, inside and out. But we were brusquely escorted outside with no question about our preference. The server showed up and Immediately wanted to know our order. No mention of perhaps a cocktail or glass of wine. It turns out that they revised their menu recently and according to the server, removed vegetarian options leaving only a salad and one appetizer. Cakes!! Sunset! All that. Came here for a weekend stay with my pup. I've always loved cave B inn. But always been here / in the vicinity for music / festivals. Never had much time to sit down and eat. Always made it to the winery though. But this was nice. We came here in between meals on a very windy day. They let us sit on the patio since I had my pup with me. Menu is simple. Protein, pasta, sandwich. Cauliflower appetizer was delish! And desserts. I wanted pretty desserts.. S'mores with smoke! House made marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate and smoke. It was more for the presentation than an actual dish itself. Bread pudding was amazing!! It also took an extra time to make. Their pasta dish was a ok though. Overall, the views are amazing from here. And it's a short walk in the vineyard if you're staying here. Very picturesque! And the views. What's not to like. If you make it to Cave B Inn or Quincy, you should definitely stop here. read more

The ambience was beautiful and can't be beat. Sitting on the outdoor deck, overlooking the Columbia, is truly breathtaking. There was live music which was wonderful and added to the overall experience. The food was just ok, at best. We ordered what few items they had on the menu (they were out of 90% of their items) and when the food did come, the steak was all fat and gristle and was cold, there was no avocado or onion on the salads as advertised and the focaccia should have been just a bread basket provided to the table, not a $20 appetizer. It was supposed to come with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and came with just butter instead. We went to brunch there the next morning and the eggs were cold and they were out of Kahlua for a Kahlua and Coffee. The service was good. He comped us our salads, which I appreciated, since they weren't at all what we ordered and we were greeted promptly after sitting down. They have some work to do and I think they can get there but clearly, changes need to be made/implemented in order to keep food and alcohol in stock and be able to serve items that are advertised on the menu. When staying at the resort, this is really your only option, outside of the wood fired pizza, so hopefully, they can get it together. It's too beautiful of a place to let the quality of the restaurant bring them down. read more

The view here is spectacular and it's really the only game in town if you are staying at the resort. I agree with others that the food is overpriced but everything we ate was delicious. However, the reason we will come back is because of the service. Our server, Daisy, was very friendly and helpful. The female bartender in the restaurant (I didn't catch her name) made us an incredible specialty cocktail. We also cannot say enough about Gavin. He truly made our stay special by providing friendly and attentive service. We were made to feel like local family, which is rare and hard to do in a busy establishment. Finding good people in the service industry is hard and I image it's even more challenging in such a remote area. The staff who provided us with service the two nights we dined at Tendrils were exceptional. read more

We did a weekend getaway at Cave B and had dinner here. Just a note: there are no walk-ins taken so you have to have reservations. Service was just OK, but not as great as a lot of restaurants in Seattle around the same price point. It was to be expected though since it's a pretty rural area. We had the calamari was decent and had a nice crunch, but wasn't a standout. We also had the steak which was really big, had some tasty veggies and mashed potatoes. It was probably the best of all of the dishes. I was not impressed with the gnocchi at all though. It had a sauce that tasted kind of like it was out of a can. Overall, this place was OK. It does the job for a restaurant at a resort/inn. However, if we stayed at Cave B again, I'd probably look into other options around. Another Note: They called us after we got back to our room and said we left a 1/4 of wine in our bottle. They wanted to know if we wanted to come get it. So you just know you don't have to finish your wine and can take it back! It would've been nice if our server told us before we left though. read more

The server was clearly green- she forgot a few small details (like cheese on the side for someone's dairy allergy), didn't ask how we wanted our burgers cooked (two were fairly rare, one was way over done) and she did not come check on us throughout the meal at all. The main courses took almost 45 minutes to arrive. And then came out cold. The bartenders were a saving grace, slinging excellent espresso martinis. But if we stay at the Sagecliffe resort again, we probably won't be eating on site. read more

We read reviews about Tendrils and subsequently canceled our reservation for dinner tonight. We heard that their wood fired pizza was good so we ordered two pizzas to be picked up. I was told on the phone that it would be 30 minutes. It has been well over an hour and they have one pizza complete, getting cold while they try and figure things out. While watching the staff, this place is thoroughly disorganized. No one seems to know what's going on. For the prices they charge, you'd think service would be a bit better. If we ever get our pizza, I'll follow up with a review but since at least one will be ice cold, I don't have high hopes. read more

Ok... I have eaten here many times over the last 15 years. Tonight's dinner was so disappointing. It was $20 per seat just to make a reservation (which wasn't even needed). Food was so/so, at best. This place used to be amazing, with locally sourced food ingredients. Not anymore. Tonight, it was like going to a decent diner, but paying top dollar. Such a rip off with the added $20 per seat for the reservation. Not a high end restaurant anymore. Dessert menu was also super lame. Service was ok. View is always fabulous. Just don't go there expecting a Cave B experience. Those days are gone. On the flip side, they have pizza ( I'm gluten free). Also some free cookies in the lobby... no dinner salad, though. While staying at one of the beautiful condos on site, my boyfriend and I came over for lunch. We were seated at a small table near the window and had a great view. Service was attentive and safe during the time of Covid. I had the chicken club and it was fantastic. It was very peppery, which is great for me because I LOVE pepper. The bacon was cooked to perfection. It was so full of flavor that I thinking about it now it's making my mouth water. Steak fries aren't generally my favorite, but they were delicious. My boyfriend had a Bloody Mary and I tried that as well. It was very spicy. Again, good for me, but maybe not for others. read more

Restaurant needs a complete management over haul! Derek the manager and the other short haired tall blonde lady (black dress jean jacket)need to learn to lead and help when it's needed. Had reservations for 6/4/2022 at 3:00pm Jenna our Hostesses was sweet as can be, as well as our waitress Santana. Unfortunately they are so short staffed and overbooked. One waitress for the whole inside. No one helping her bus tables or take drink orders. We waited for 20minutes to be acknowledged, then another 20minutes to receive our drinks. One bartender for the whole restaurant and she was slammed. Tons of food sitting under heat lamps and not being taken out to the tables. 55minutes later we finally get our order. Raw burger not even cooked! Implement HACCP procedures for your restaurant. Foodborne illness waiting to happen! I had high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately they didn't meet it. We were going to the Concert at the Gorge made reservations for Tendrils, since it's right next door and we drove a few hours to get to the Gorge. Thought this would be a great place to stop! Never again! Unfortunately if you stay at the Sagecliffe Resort this is it for places to dine out at.
