Hadn't been to Quincy in forever but seeing as it's now shoulder season we needed to drive up and have a bite to eat somewhere. I was really hoping for eggs benny (saw country Benny and just assumed there would be regular too) but unfortunately there wasn't. There was however a very cute restaurant, fairly priced, with good food and excellent service. The bloody Mary's were impressive and my scramble was good too. We'd certainly come back if we were in the area.

If you're in Quincy and you're looking for burgers, Idle Hour is definitely your best option. Heck, even if you're not in Quincy, Idle Hour still has some pretty great burgers and fries. I've had a few different burgers off their burger menu. You can't really go wrong with any of them. But, my go-to burger is the American Burger. It comes lathered with a sweet & spicy BBQ sauce, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a ciabatta roll. And let me tell you, the bacon on this burger is the real deal. The bacon slices are fat, super crispy, and awfully delicious. This is how bacon is supposed to be done. With any of their burgers you'll get a wonderfully juicy meat patty. Not only do they have awesome burgers, the fries are SO GOOD. They come to you piping hot and crispy as can be. They are seasoned really well and they go great with their Fry Sauce. If they don't ask if you want the Fry Sauce, you guys should tell them you'd like it. It's nice and smokey, with a little bit of sweetness. Great with the fries and the burgers in my opinion. There seems to be two sections in the restaurant. One where you need to be 21+ to sit in and one where it doesn't matter how old you are. If you look a little bit on the young side, you might want to bring in your ID so you can sit wherever. PS. You lose a lot of freshness and crispness when you take the food to-go rather than eat in. Still tastes great! But, you'll miss the crispness of the bacons and fries.

Great place for food! The burgers are over the top large and juicy. Several to choose from. Other options are just as tasty.

The restaurant theme is airplanes decorated with airplane items throughout. The interior is large with plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor and bar area with seats. As others have said in prior reviews, the menu can be limited at times. We went on a Sunday night during Watershed weekend so it made sense that they were out of some items. For example, we were told there were no burgers or paninis available that night. Too bad as I had wanted to try the tri tip panini. Darn. We ordered flatbread pizzas. I had the Spitfire which had smoked pork over BBQ sauce, cheese blend, red onion, black olives and mushrooms. I read in a different Yelp review that they smoke their own pork, so I had to get this one. It was by far, the favorite one! My wife tried the Falcon which has ham, pepperoni, sausage, salami, bacon, marinara sauce and cheese blend. For some reason this one was sorta "meh". Maybe cuz we had the wonderful Spitfire flatbread to compare it to? Along with dinner I tried the Beach Bum (another prior Yelp review recommendation!) which is a beer of half Kona Big Wave and half Mango Cart. This beer blend is perfect for hot Summer nights! Overall, we had great service from the do-it-all bartender. He was super nice and friendly and the prices were reasonable. I would return when in the area in the future but would go earlier in the day to try some of the other items before they run out.

The pizza was outstanding--perfectly blistered crust, generous toppings, and an incredible balance of flavors. The combination of savory toppings, house smoked pulled pork, bourbon BBQ sauce, pickled red onion and fresh pineapple created a unique sweet-and-tangy bite that worked surprisingly well. Every slice was loaded and cooked to perfection. The whiskey selection was equally impressive and the wine is always lovely. Whether you're a casual whiskey drinker or a true enthusiast, the bar offers plenty of options to explore. Pairing a great pour with exceptional food while enjoying a wonder view always makes for an unforgettable meal! We finished with dessert, and it absolutely delivered. The Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler was to die for and the vanilla gelato was the perfect complement. Beyond the food and drinks, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and relaxed, with great service and beautiful views. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend a few hours enjoying good food, good whiskey, and good company. Highly recommend for any occasion! Date night, a night out with friends, or anyone just driving by and looking for a lunch spot! We'll definitely be back.
