Our child has been attending this school for a few months now. She fits right in, and feels welcome and cared for here at TLC. Her teachers are awesome and patient with our toddler. Miss Charla is excellent at communicating with us parents as we get frequent updates with events and upcoming reminders, which is great since I tend to forget important dates such. My 2.5 year old son just started at TLC in October and he is THRIVING! He has a ton of vocabulary, already knows his colors, days of the week and can (almost) count to 20! We are in awe of his development over the last two months! Ms. Charla, Ms. Christy, Ms. Sonia and Ms. Tiffany have taken wonderful care of our little guy. I can't speak for all locations, but the Traina locations is Spectacular. I have 3 kids (15, 10 and 4) and all have had a slightly different preschool experiences at 2 different schools (due to moving). TLC Traina is by far our best yet. They genuinely care about your kids. They are communicative, organized and clean which is an absolute must for busy parents. We started as full day part time and within a month requested to be moved to Full Time. I have enjoyed my interactions with all staff members to date and so has my daughter. This is our last child and therefore this last preschool experience is very important to me. Her development has sky rocketed and the structure and routine has been really nice. She absolutely loves it there and even asks on weekends if she can go to school. I will be forever grateful that we found this place and that they were so accommodating to us. read more

She excited to go to school everyday. She has been learning lots of skills which are prepping her for elementary school. When we first moved to Tracy, it was because of a difficult and unexpected situation. We didn't know we were moving and ultimately sacrificed almost everything from our house in TX. After living in cheep motels for an entire month, we were ready to get an apartment, even if it meant sleeping on the floors. After researching elementary schools, we came to choose Traina because of its high reputation, and the fact that TLC was on campus for child care. Before committing to our apartment in the school boundaries, we first checked out TLC because I knew I needed to get a job. I can't believe what a mistake it was choosing them. Even though I knew I didn't have a job yet, I had interviews and enrolled my children MWF (not cheep) the entire time until we arraigned to bump it up to full time beginning February 1st. "We are going to call CPS if your children aren't picked up by 5:00," are not words any parent wants to ever hear! Mind you, the normal hours are 6-6pm., my husband is in SF, and it's my second day of work! How was I supposed to know their power would go out, and they would have this CPS stipulation?! I was training, and my phone was at my desk on silent. I thought everything was going great! The first unanswered call to my phone was at 3:37, and since I was off at 4:30, I got my children at 4:45. The boss lady (whom I have never met before) informed me that they could not continue watching my kids because my husband was angry when she threatened "CPS" on her phone call to him. Now I have no one to watch my children, and I'm sure I'll be fired from this great job that I NEED and was LUCKY to score! Thanks for ruining our life, TLC!!! It's sad because the kids and I really loved 2 of the teachers. Hopefully they can find better jobs where the boss doesn't enjoy ruining people's lives. Sad. If you love your kids, and don't want CPS to be called for unforeseen circumstances, DON'T enroll them here! Just don't. read more

I cant even to express the dissatisfaction I experienced. I am brand new to the area. This child care is at the elementary school. All I can say is yesterday was our first day. I had three questions: 1. My son got out at 130 and was signed in at 2 pm. Where was he for 30 min? - she couldn't answer. 2. My kids get breakfast at cafeteria how do TK students get their breakfast. We release students at 7:50 - but what about the littles - they cant help. 3. My son needs a nap sheet, but hes in TK not preschool. Thats part of our license req. Next morning i had to ask the next person who was able to answer better. I came to work, fine. Then I get a call saying i had questions , i thought was resolved. Went over questions now a third time and told a supervisor would call. Got a call again rude woman wouldnt let me talk and said "i can tell what kind of parent your going to be so ill make the decision to cut you, we arent picking up your kids and you can come get a refund" Iv cried all day, reported this to licensing department and will take it as a blessing in disguise. read more

I can't say enough about how happy we are that we've found such an extraordinary, nurturing environment for our son to attend pre-K. His primary teachers, Ms. Beverly and Ms. Miriam, have been team teaching together for years. The lessons and activities they come up with are unique, engaging, and so creative! The before and after care program is wonderful as well and every staff member is pleasant and helpful. My son loves coming here, and although he's only been in the program for 4 months, he is clearly thriving and happy. What more could any parent ask for? My 3 yr old son goes here. They are very god d and patient with him. He has a hard time with drop offs in the morning but they are very sweet and help it go as smooth as possible. By the time I pick him up he's so happy and runs to me with whatever pic or craft he's made that day. read more

A few months ago we enrolled our little one and honestly have nothing but wonderful things to say about TLC. Our daughter is thriving! At age 2 she can sing the alphabet song, count up into the teens (not perfect all the time but much more than I ever expected), learning the days of the week, months of the year, shapes, etc... TLC is structured but not like a Montessori school. Children are encouraged to share thought, be engaged, interact and that is exactly what I see when my child comes home. In regards to the hot sauce incident, if Ms. Cecil's did that it was very poor judgement on her part and I believe it was wrong. However, I don't think it's fair to condemn the school and all of the other wonderful teachers at TLC. They have been very loving, warm and caring as my daughter struggled a bit with the switching of schools, moving to a new city and home. Although she is excited to see me when I pick her, there are days that she doesn't want to leave. A good indicator that the teachers ARE good and the school IS wonderful. Prior to moving to Tracy I visited many schools as I am extremely critical and selective when it comes to my daughters education, care and well-being. TLC was by far the warmest environment and professional! We couldn't be happier with the progress our child has made! read more

At this point, all four of our sons have been through preschool at TLC and I have nothing but good things to say about this school. Having kids with special needs can be tough. Finding a school that will work with them with love and patience can be even tougher. TLC has been with us through the journey and work with our boys' specialized programs to make sure they get everything they need out of their preschool years. My daughter's time at TLC was one of the worst experiences for our family. I have a very active 4 year old daughter. When I brought her to TLC I expressed to them that she has a very rough time taking naps, and they explained that they would work with her. From the beginning things went bad. I had forgotten to pack her a change of clothes, and she had an accident at school. Without even talking to me about it I found a copy of my contract in her backpack with the portion that states I must pack a backup set of clothes highlighted that day. I understand that it was my fault for forgetting to pack her a set of clothes, but the lack of compassion for realizing that sometimes parents make mistakes upset me. My daughter received numerous "red apples" for not listening and playing at nap time. I am against the green, yellow, and red card system but never said anything because that is their system, and they are allowed to use it. I began to get upset when the red apples started affecting her attitude. She would come home everyday telling me she was a bad girl, and couldn't do anything right. I started to feel black listed by the staff, and was not even greeted when bringing my daughter every morning. My daughter told me that one of her teachers Ms. Beverly was telling my daughter that she didn't want to see her face anymore. I approached Ms. Beverly one morning to express that my daughter was starting to be affected by her behavior marks, and I wanted to see what I could do at home to assist them at school with her. I was told by Ms. Beverly that maybe I needed to look at what I was doing at home that was causing her behavior. I explained to her that I was a teacher, and I would never talk to one of my parents that way. She replied" and how do you think I'm coming at you, aggressively?" I replied yes that was exactly how she was coming across and she replied" well lady, I don't know what to tell you then." I immediately took my daughter, and had to call in sick for work that day because I didn't want her in that environment anymore. I called the director at their Parker ave location who profusely apologized about the behavior displayed by her staff. She immediately enrolled her at her location. My daughter lasted 2 weeks before I was told that they had done all they could do, and she was still refusing to nap and playing while others are sleeping. I understand that she should not be distracting other kids at nap time, but if I'm working any paying you to help take care of my child for me you should try everything you can to help her instead of saying, well you have to take her bc she won't take a nap. I had to leave my class, and come get her early. The director told me that Macie could keep coming as long as I picked her up everyday at 12 before nap time. This is not possible since I am a teacher, and have my students till 3 everyday. There was only 2 weeks left in the school year so I had to juggle childcare around. Luckily my mother in law was able to watch her for one week, but my husband and I had to use sick leave for the remaining days. While leaving I also asked for the remaking amount that I had paid them for that week since she was leaving mid week. She told me of course, but she didn't have cash then, but would call me when she had it. Still have not heard a word from her. I feel very guilty that I put my daughter in this situation for as long as I did. No four year old should ever have a care provider tell them they don't want to see their face. If you have a completely obedient child they will probably do just fine there, but if you have a child that sometimes tries to test the limits you might want to look for another place. read more

As parents, my husband I entrust our greatest blessings to the staff at TLC every day, one is in preschool and our other one is in 1st grade. I'm appreciative of the loving care and guidance both kids receive. I especially appreciate how the teachers and Ms Candace look at each little one as an individual, with their own strengths and needs. In terms of our PreK, I will go on record to say TLC has an incredible early childhood curriculum that engages and teaches them. This is my daughters first year in preschool and she loves it. She loves all three of her teachers. She gets so excited to show me her art work and which letter the class is learning for the week. I heard nothing but GREAT things about the TLC program. Soon as my daughter turned 2 I enrolled her in the program and at 2.5 years old she knows her days of the week, sings various songs on her own, can count to 20, knows her full alphabet and some letter recognition. She also has made some great friends. The teachers are awesome and very nurturing to the students!
